Name: Lavender / California Purple Kush
From: Private grower in Mendocino County, Ca.
Grade: A+ (Hand down the best pot I have ever smoked)
Type: Indica
Genetics: I am unsure as to the genetics, but my buddy told me that it was a variation of the popular Purple Kush that seems to be floating around these days. That said, I have definitely never seen Purple Kush like this before. Must be that Cali. weather.
Price: At $300/Ounce I still don’t know why I am not out there myself, definitely one of the best deal I have ever had.
Looks: Magical. Dense light purple nuggets covered in tan trichomes-so many of them that they look like sand-and sparsely populated by bright red hairs. Every time I look at this bud I have a strange inclination to ask, “got purple?’
Smell: Glorious. Smells like sweet purple candy/soda mixed with fresh greens, plus a hint of dead skunk. Potent, yet not overpowering, a truly sweet aroma.
Taste: Much like the smell, but heavier on the fruity side. The purple really comes out in the taste. One hit and your mouth tastes like you just at a whole box of grape candy. Damn I really want some now!
Buzz Type: Great body high. Quite possible my perfect high. I mean I could smoke massive gotti’s of Purple Kush and still keep getting higher. The sky is the limit, literally, when it comes to smoking this one. It creeps into the body midway through the session and nuzzles in. Within minutes you’re feeling a warm, fuzzy feeling without any sort of drag. Just absolutely relaxing, refreshing and reinvigorating.
Buzz Length: Long. Bong rips last for hours, a joint in the morning keeps you warm all day and smoke a blunt and be prepared to ride on a wave of purple bliss through the night.
Overall: This is hands down my favorite weed ever. I just hope that someday I can find something better than this, but I have a feeling that no such thing exists. Prove me wrong.
Conclusion: The only negative thing I have to say is that there was not enough. My buddy was able to bring over a QP from California, but no more than that. Finest QP I ever had the pleasure to smoke.
Also, there is a confusion over the names, I apologize, my buddy from Cali. and I were smoking a grape Swisher of this one day while I was glancing through the most recent High Times that had an article about Cali. bud. Well, they had 4 pictures of buds in the article (I believe they were Afwreck, Goo, OG Kush and Lavender) and I swear on Ganja itself, the picture of the Lavender looked just like the ‘Purple Kush’ I was smoking.
My buddy and I concluded that it must be the same stuff since it was said to be from a grower in Mendocino County, where my buddy lives. Therefore, we switched to calling it Lavender, yet my buddy still defends it’s original name of Purple Kush. You be the judges. –Heavyhitter88

hello, Ive gotten this strain a few times out of my Santa Cruz clinic. This bud always has the same proficient taste and quality always every time i purchase. Mind blowing impact as the smoke sets in, one of my most enjoyable smokes.
uh and yes sir, it is DEF Lavender, i am 99% positive, ide need to smell it to get my other 1% tho, trust me! peace and pot

ahhhh not much like a nice purple strain..i know it has nothing 2 do with the strain itself but theres just something bout the wonderful look and aroma that is simply put Amazing!

I had completely given up on purple kush after having about four poor examples from dispensories. My buddy gripps from a private source up in mendo. This herb looked like master kush on the outside bur was completely purple on the inside, great high, and perfect ballance between kush and purp SUPERB.
Lavender tastes and smells like Lavender. The strain was developed by Soma and does have kush heritage. It looks just like my white shark but is by no means the same. Do not go by a picture in a magazine.
I’d have to agree this was NOT PK i have never heard of PK ever turning flat dark purple like that, this pic looks identical to Grand daddy purps(GDP) or possibly Purple Erkle. but that is not kush

ok, just to confirm 100% with everyone. i just spoke to my boy who got this for me way back when. he told me he recently went to the grower in mendocino to check in on his recent goodies. good news is hes not only growing some awesome GDP and Kali Mist, but he is continuing working with the Purple Kush. And yes folks, this is Purple Kush. Need I remind you that, even though two buds have the same name, they are not necessary the same strain, so back off. i have assurances from the highest level that this is homegrown, organic, mendocino PURPLE KUSH.
Yeah!! I got some kush n when I looked at it there was purple in it. Looked just like that pic, only prob is I don’t remember what it was like cause the day I smoked this it was after I smoked 2 blunts of other bud…

I feel your anguish. A few years ago a guy crossed Apollo11/C99/Ice Princess (all Brothers Grimm seeds) and I highly doubt I’l ever have herb like that again. ONE hit and I had to put the bowl down.

got an oz of purple kush from a medical dispensary in socal and the nugs look just like this. insane variations of dark purple/green to bright almost neon orange with that sugary skunky grapey flavor. not to mention the extremely tan trichome concentration on the inside. great purple kush brudda
Looks pretty dank..i have had some strain i never got the name of that was comparable to this…look very different but had nice swirls of purple. After breaking down enough for a blunt my fingers were sooo sticky! Great Review
I have this exact strain budding at this moment along with two clones in the grow room. Looking forward to smoking on some purple. Very nice looking nugget can’t wait.

The dispensary by our shop has Purple Super Kush in and it looks exactly like that. Same taste and everything that you have described. If anyone really wants to try it and cant find it in orange county. Reply and ill give you the clinic.

this is one of the original purple kush reviews on the site that i remember. that pic looks scary. id probably stick with calling it purple kush, as going by pic comparison in a mag or book is rarely accurate(if ever).
I would easily say its a toss up between between purple and OG for the battle of who is the better strain.
