My last few trips up north I smoked some dank weed but never any Kush. I was beginning to think maybe they ran out until Amanda sent in this Purple Kush review.
Name: Purple Kush
From: Horizon Non-Profit Collective (Dispensary – San Francisco)
Grade: A-
Type: Indica
Price: N/A
Looks: The nugs themselves are dense and compact with dark purple scattered throughout the tips.
Smell: The smell is rich and earthy.
Taste: The smoke is amazing. It tastes old and almost like wine, grapes and berries. It’s robust without being overwhelming.
Buzz Type: Strong, sedative.
Buzz Length: Long. 3-4 hours.
Overall: The high is a very deep body high that put me out right away. My entire body was numb, weightless and burden free of any physical ache or pain that I had previously.
I was instantly tired, couch locked and observant but oblivious to everything else in the world. I feel like it’s one of those strains you have to experience to know. It was truly a pleasure. –Amanda
I have yet to see some really good Purple Kush down here even though I know it exists. After having read this review I will be hunting some down for sure. –Chubbs

The purple color is great.
And taste sounds superb.
Nice review.
Thanks it was a pleasure to smoke.
Very nice review Amanda. I love purple kush!
Keep doin it
3-4 hour high is insane, sounds like it has a very interesting flavor compared to other kushes
It didn’t really taste like other Kushes that I have had – I was expecting a different taste, but I’m not complaining.
I am interested in hunting down the organic version of this strain, but nothing other than patience is gong to get me that.
Is there really that BIG of a difference between organic and non-organic grown bud? Does it vary that much?
There can be a subtle difference in taste. I mean even if you use organic fertz and soil, you still gotta flush. You can grow organic hydro too. I think organic growers tend to be more nurturing with their plants. Organic love. I only smoke organic, ‘cuz that’s all that’s around, but have had great non-organic smoke as well.
I’ve noticed a difference. The taste is different, it’s not as subtle for me as BliskiLaboki said, I can definately tell.
I love organic marijuana. It’s wonderful, and if you haven’t tried it yet, I wouldn’t pass it by if you are given the opportunity.
One of the dispensaries I go to prides itself on being almost all organic. I love it there.
I love organic herb. You can definitely tell when hitting a vaporizer. Smoke is much more pleasant and flavor is rich and pure.
I’ve grown the same strain indoors both organically and with synthetics. There was a noticeable difference in taste and smell but nothing too crazy.
The same strain grown organically in soil tasted like heaven. HUGE difference in taste and smell over both hydro varieties.
I really do prefer organic strains. Lately, I’ve been going to another dispensary with almost no organic bud and it’s always semidisappointing.
Don’t get me wrong, both organic and nonorganic get the job done, but if I have to choose, I’m going organic, I really think if you’re trying to ‘taste’ the weed and what not, it’s the best way to go.
Vaporizer, when I’m writing my reviews for organic herb I always scribble down the word ‘pure’, it tastes almost untampered with.
I meant to say organically grown strains ^
I think organic gardeners tend to grow with a little more love, just an opinion though. I’ve heard ladies grow the best buds. I’ll need to do further testing
Sounds like I need to do some further testing on whether or not women grow better bud than men … maybe it’s because we know how exactly what a lady needs.
amanda: The 4 women I know that grow all have incredible green thumbs. But then again, so do some dudes I know.
Well I managed to kill some drought resistant lavender, but if I was growing something I *love* it might be different. Maybe when I get the funds to set up a grow.
If you’re gonna take someone’s reviews and post them on a different site, you could at least give the OP some credit. Not just the words but the pictures too. Same goes for the other reviews that “you” have done.

Unless you also go by the name “Whiskey,” then I rescind my previous statement.
A GrassCity.com Member: Amanda = Whiskey. Good looking out though.
Why are you not using a real name/email address?
Yo, I was just cruisin’ this site, and stumbled upon this review of the almighty Purple Kush. I’ve grown PK in ideal indoor soil conditions, from what was supposedly the true pheno, purchased from Vancouver, BC. I live in Canada; and have tried PK through private dealers and friends on multiple occasions.
The buds you’ve posted and reviewed here don’t really look all that much like all the purple kush i’ve seen.. It looks much more, if not exactly like “The Purps.” Although grown outdoors I can imagine it taking on some of these qualities..
One of the main reasons I say this is because of bud structure. Kush genetics tend to have much more sparse and thick calyxes and an overall “chunky/fluffy” appearance with little/no leaf:buds.
The other reasons:
The taste and smell. The taste and smell of PK should be the first thing noticed and stated. It’s OUT OF THIS WORLD. The smell is a musky, typically “kushy” smell with absolutely mouthwatering accents and indescribable dimensions. The taste is almost like a perfume.
If a woman was wearing this scent as a perfume and walked by me on the street, I would fall in love.
But anyhow; probably just another pheno. BC genetics I find are always superior.
This is my 2nd favorite strain of all time.. A+++ if grown/cured/stored properly.
I’ll be back,
Peace!
That’s Funny Ryan.
BC Bud Depot Seed Bank has stated that
“The Purps” is derived from a Mendo Purps clone only strain and then crossed by BC Bud Depot to stabalize. Thus The Purps is born.
“BC genetics I find are always superior” of course you would they come from Northern California (Well not all).
Hey on April 1st of 2009 me and my friends smoked some purple kush tht I have to say that wat amanda said is right it pits a strain on your whole body…it was my first time smoking it and I think I smoked too much cuz I’m still high and dnt know wat to do to get bacc to my normal feeling…I dnt know wat to do so I’m asking someone who mightve experienced wat I have cuz I feel like I’m goin crazy + I’m a diabetic so I think me smoking tht shyt made it worst…anybody please help amanda if u know the answer please respond because even doctors claim they dnt kno wat to do…
Another reviewer said this is actually called Lavender. And I’m not sure because I smoked some purple kush, pure indica back in 1993 in Virginia Beach. This IS that weed. I know it because the one I smoked kept me ripped for 4-5+ hours! I think the two are different strains altogether.
BEAUTIFUL grats
nice!!
