Years ago I read an article in High Times about a marijuana delivery service in New York. I don’t remember the exact details, but I believe you paged a guy who then called you back and asked who referred you. If everything checked out, he would give you a block of time to be available. Kind of like the cable company.
The guy would literally ride his bike over to your place wearing a backpack stuffed with herb. Normally they’d have 6 or 7 high quality strains that sold for anywhere between $70-90/8th. I am not sure if they would offer any concentrates (hash, oil, edibles). My memory is struggling right now.
Now the reason I am bring this up is because I was having a discussion with a friend about whether or not this model would work for existing brick-n-mortar medical marijuana dispensaries. I mean, if you knew that your local dispensary delivered, even if there was a bit of a delivery charge, would you have your bud delivered? I think I would. As long as the delivery fee was not crazy high and I had a few 1/8’s to choose from. –Chubbs

I think a large number of NorCal dispensaries (especially around the Bay Area) deliver. I know the Green Cross http://www.thegreencross.org delivers. I just saw their site that they had to cut hours because of the bad economy, but they’re still delivering.
Another one I know of in SF is kine2b.com. I’ve read that they deliver on bicycles! Now that’s Green green!
Of course, me being outside of the Weed Heaven (Cali), my dealer also delivers, but they outsource the delivery to a “third party”
muhfuhkuh: Is kine2b medical mj delivery or does he just deliver to anyone?
Oh, I think you definitely have to have a medicann or OCBC/PIDC card.
Mind you, I don’t live in California, so I’m not sure. I’ve just read some good things about these services
I like the idea, I wonder how much the delivery charge would be though? How would this work for medical patients? Im thinking you’d have to get verified before hand. If the person had a car with good mileage they could fit a very nice selection of bud in the back of their car along with some concentrates.
There is a delivery only place here in San Francisco. The Green Cross. They will be there within an hour of you calling as long as you live in city limits. They have an online menu with pictures (check their site i think its thegreencross.org). Anyway it is a great service with attractive prices ($300 an Oz). Only problem is their quality is only so so compared to some of the other brick and mortar dispensaries (although the price is cheaper than these places so you get what you pay for I guess).
I wonder what the best dispensary in San Franciso is, I’ve heard good things about Grass Roots
mervinthepersian: I’d sure like to know cause I am heading to SF to see Cypress Hill on 4/20. Gonna need my meds.
I checked out that green cross site and it looks like a top notch service, kudos for bringing it up!
I liked the Green Cross when i first got my Medicann card. But then I found sites like this one and have gotten very picky on quality! BTW, every place I have personally been in the Bay Area takes Medicann, so far at least.
Anyhow, for my money the best place in the Bay for meds is Purple Elephant Non Profit Collective in Alameda (PENPC). Grass Roots and Divinity Tree are the two best in San Francisco city limits (plus they are right around the corner from each other but not best area, Tenderloin). But I have been making the trip out to Alameda for PENPC. All of these dispensaries are great though and usually have top quality meds (they all have forums on weedtraker.com – a lot of Nor Cal dispensaries do not).
Bill: I love The Loin.
The Phoenix Hotel is my home away from home.
I’m not in a state were marijuana is recognized for its medicinal values yet. even though, i would still be all over a delivery service and willing to pay a premium for the convenience. i hope mmj comes to pa soon.
You just took me back with this post.
I used to work at a recording studio and got a great delivery connect through a friend that was pretty much, detail for detail what you said. Guy would show up, suit & tie sometimes with a briefcase, and just pull out some nasty buds like Juicy Fruit, Cinderella, I remember I bought some fire Blueberry one time.
I’m sure you can still find them out there, just gotta find someone to hook you up with a connect.
Yeah my bro went up to new york during his spring break cuz his friend lived there. They used one of these and the guy came to their door like a surveyor, dressed in a suit and they hand the money under the clipboard and he hands the bud under the clipboard.Sounds fucking awesome!
i have my stuff delivered most of the time and the charge is usally only about five to ten extra bucks. My dilivery guy usally just tells my what he has and only brings that…unless he thinks hes got something that Id be intrusted in after seeing.
@coyotee420: Mind if I ask what county you are in?
I’ve heard about this service but you need a reference. You’re pretty much useless without one. It would’ve been nice to get A quality bud though in a state where it’s not legalized.. yet.. Still, I don’t mind waiting for my “private sources”.
If ya live in canada, their r companies who will deliver to anyone without a Dr’s note, Sweet!!
I will come to London and I want 30 g do you know if I can find.
