Now, I started MR as a hobby. I had no intention on ever making $1 with the site and never will. MR will always be a free and clean resource to anyone who needs information on different strains of marijuana.
What MR is not is a place for everyone to hang out and talk shit about how I am slacking and better get my shit straight before you move on to other sites or even more lame, try and start your own.
Do you guys honestly realize how much time and money I have sunk into MR? I mean really think about it.
Take a look at the list of strains that I have personally reviewed and multiply that by $60 (avg. price of an 1/8th) and you’ll come up with a number right around $35,000.
And that is a low ball number seeing as I usually buy a 1/4 or a 1/2 ounce.
As far as time, every single review on MR including the submitted reviews take me about 30 minutes to write. I don’t even want to think about how many unpaid hours I have spent in front of my PC.
In addition to MR I own/operate 2 very successful internet companies (300+ sites that receive 10 million+ his a day) that don’t just run themselves.
Also, I am a guest speaker for the Cannabis Career Institute, a guest speaker for Oaksterdam (sort of), am launching MR v2.0, www.weeklyweed.com, and about 11 other weed related websites this year. My medical marijuana collective NUGGETRY is one of the most popular and is the fastest growing collective in Orange County.
Oh and let’s not forget about a little thing called life.
From now on anyone who feels the need to criticize the way I run my sites will receive a lifetime ban. Period. When you try and access MR or any of my 300+ sites you will get the customary “YOU DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO VIEW THIS PAGE” page.
Most of you know me and know that I am a pretty chill person. So for me to feel like I need to take such aggressive measures should tell you something.

I had posted a response in the previous thread which mentioned starting up an alternative site and in no way was I attempting to insult you– on the contrary, it was due to what I felt was excessive whining.

Chubbs, first of all THANK YOU for what you do with MR and I’m looking forward to your new sites as well. I can only speak for myself when I say that I figured from the start that you’re super busy and I understood that you also run a ton of other websites, and I know that you do this site as a hobby and not for profit. I think everyone should know that and respect that. It’s a shame that you feel like people are shit talking you on your own site but luckily there are less than a hand full of people that are actually doing that. No one should be getting angry or talking about how you get your Nuggetry clients, etc, because this is supposed to be for fun and not something to get worked up about or try to leverage how you got the clients for the successful business YOU got up and running.
I think that last chain of comments just got the conversation started about how much we all miss the progress on this site, and to vent just a little for those of us who are eagerly waiting to see our bomb strains reviews up so we can share the best strains with our fellow tokers. But a quick vent-session shouldn’t become an attack on you and I think that most of us defend what you’re doing despite the wait for reviews to be posted. I’m glad that you have given everyone some insight into your situation and I hope that the negative feelings (can all be set aside moving forward because no one enjoys that kind of vibe.
Those of us who are trying to contribute also spend our time to photograph, analyze and write up reviews of our strains so I think that as long as no one feels like their effort was in vain, we’re all good. I, for one, appreciate that you’re getting some help so that MR can get back to its glory days. It will only get better from here!

The only reason that I comented on the fact that I think this site helped NUGGETRY is because its how I and alot of others I know found out about it and we all agree if we lived in O.C. we would buy from NUGGETRY only probibly. The only thing that I have done is compliment you in the most positive ways possible and I understand reviewing strains is costly. Sory if I touched a nerve I would never mean any disrespect. One of my worst fears is logging on to MR and being rejected. That would suck to say the least.
Honestly, I thought you were doing a kickass job with this site. I mean, just look at all the strains, concentrates, and information on this site. We’re not knockin’ on you, we’re just here to help and give fellow herbalists the knowledge they’re seeking. No need for the picture of the Asian about to go Super Saiyan. You’re going through enough stress as it is with your expanding Nuggetry business, we know. Don’t sweat it. I think you should pack a bowl and see how you feel later haha.

this site is the best and i wanted to be an editor but it slowed down and i was discouraged by another comment that said they posted over 10 reviews and no postings. i have 10 reviews with pics ready too not that means anything just good luck with getting everything together!
As much as I miss the frequent updates, I totally understand how busy you must be. You’re providing a wonderful service, and regular updates or not, I definitely appreciate it.

EXCELLENT COMMENTS and if I may, it’s about time somebody took a stand on whining and threatening to “leave”! I see this behavior all too often on websites across all genres and it irks me to no end. So reading your “Let’s Get Some Shit Straight” was a literal treat!

Hey. I’m from a different part of the country and I just made an account, but for someone who isn’t even a member of the site you’ve had me captivated from day one with all of the various strains and all of the effort that you clearly put into this site. Now everyone, of course everything might not be 100% accurate. But I do assure you, I can tell without prior knowledge of anything Chubbs wrote up there that everything he does for this site is to the more than best of his ability and is accurate. Of course someone else is gonna try to make a site like this. I’m not gonna bother because, I would feel tacky, and I wouldn’t do as good a job as this guy. Without even looking at any of his comment, I mean come on, you can obviously see all off the work put into this site just by looking at it, review by review, video reviews, photos of every strain, all of stoner travel information on the site, let alone him working on all these other sites I didn’t even know about. You’ve gotta be at it 24/7 no question… But I really appreciate this site. You’re doing great man! Let me know if you would like me to start putting up accurate reviews from the east coast man. Atlanta has some homegrown, southern, FIRE.

I frequent a lot of the same co-op’s as chubbs and as much as I love his reviews I must say that the prices stated are not accurate and one of his main places is a $45 cap. Chubbs man, I love the reviews and have mad respect for you…just wondering why this site list most strains at 10-20 bucks more than they actually cost. Best of luck to you and nuggetry.

it was pretty obvious to me since the expo that no posts/updates means a successful new venture with the nuggetry. can’t be everywhere all the time and if you are running a 10-10 shift (12 hours), it does not leave a lot of time left over.

it’s the beast from grasscity reporting in… chubbs keep doing what you do best and that is provide quality reviews, manage tons of great sites, and from what I hear Nuggetry is doing well. Screw the haters they are worthless dude.
And “A CRITIC” is obviously only pulling that crap because he probably has a dynamic IP. People with dynamic IP’s can simply reset their IP address and get away from your bans. I’m sure nobody really thinks your websites are shit, as they are far from it.

While yes this will ban his entire neighborhood from viewing any of my sites, it will definitely cure the problem.

what you do here at MR is fantastic, I myself actually did the same thing(minus the website) 4 months ago with logging everything about the high,taste etc from strain after strain…I wish I had done it for years, big mistake not to.
now, I would never go make a website…why? I know how much time/money Chubbs must have spent here…and I barely have the energy to type it into word lol.
