love reading your stories on what those strains are doing for you in the comments as well. Interesting about the kidney stone by the way, I will have to keep that in mind, as anyone who gets kidney stones knows, they do come back, and they hurt like nothing a man has ever had to experience before. Afgoo is a nice option, did that really do the trick pain wise? Stones can get to where you cant go anywhere...

Hello,

First post here. Enjoying the review(s) about Jack Herer. Just planted it. Hoping it will help my Multiple Sclerosis related fatigue.

Up until now, I've only had whatever my bag-seed grew. It'll be good to compare some good stuff to what I've been using.

Also looking into upgrading my vaporizer. I'll do some searching on the site, but if anyone has ideas, let me know. It doesn't need to be portable or multi-user.

Thanks in advance

A well grown JH is about the best you can do. Talk to your local dispensary about this. A good relationship will help them understand your needs better and steer you to the correct stuff regardless of the name.

I had a kidney stone this year and they gave me Afgooey for the pain but also Blue Dream for the time dialation and clarity. Weird, but it got me through a REAL tough two days. A good dispensary should understand their wares and help you get what you need.

You are correct that not all JH is the same.

My current batch of JH is just too stoney for work (bit much body down) but it does last a full 3 hours!

I would also recommend Strawberry Cough. I never see it anymore though it was big in 2007.

Good for you for getting to work with such a condition!

This is one of my favorite sativa's. Really like the effect of this strain. However, do not like the taste. Great smoke all & all.

Jack Herer has been an excellent anti-convulsant, anti-seizure medication in treating my epilepsy and a terrific antidepressant and anti-nausea and pain medication for me. I have epilepsy and also chronic pain from cancer (for which i was prescribed a lot of narcotic pain killers - dilaudid, morphine, which i just stopped taking by choice because i really felt they could NOT be good for me and that I'd rather have the pain than be on those drugs every day of my life. The epilepsy medication has put me into first stage liver and kidney failure and now all epilepsy medication comes with a required FDA warning that it may increase your risk of attempting suicide (which is already increased if you are epileptic).

So, Jack Herer is as one reviewer wrote, a really good strain because there is a really great mental clarity here: it is very bright. You are not out of it or whatever. I go about my work every day and so on and use just enough medication so that I do not have seizures and am not in pain.

As for nausea, I have true dystonia (life threatening allergic reaction) to all anti-nausea drugs in the phenothiazine family which is pretty much all of them that they can give you for cancer, except Zofran, which never worked for me. Two puffs of Jack and my pain is gone and I stop vomiting right away.

I cannot recommend this strain highly enough for its medicinal uses alone, let alone the rest. For me, the decision to cut back or stop using narcotic pain killers and drugs that have caused permanent damage to my internal organs versus Jack Herer which has the side effect of giving me perhaps the giggles or, gosh, maybe even euphoria (!), it's not such a hard decision.

I would like to know if anyone has any knowledge of any other strains of Sativa (i cannot use indica at all really) that have a similar effect as Jack: that is to say, that are bright and light and clear and have a very uplifting positive feeling to them. Obviously, only trial and error would show whether or not the other strain would help with my epilepsy and cancer pain and etc but I would be interested. I tried some other strains but so far, only Jack seems to work for me.

Any ideas? Please let me know - it's not always easy to find Jack and I need an alternate or two.

Thanks for writing about this fine bud = i'm glad to see it here and glad to have a chance to say how much it has helped me. After so many years of being so sick and in and out (mostly in: i just got home again - today - from the hospital) of the hospital, i can tell you that before i used this medicine I had status epilepticus (that's back to back seizures for hours at a time and a life-threatening emergency), three times in the year before i decided to start using sativa and cut back on the other anticonvulsant which contributed in part to my kidney failure (stage one).

Since that time, I have not had any seizures. I have, however, had the giggles - how awful for an epileptic cancer patient to actually laugh and smile as a side-effect from a drug that is actually also helping treat and heal.

Would love to know of other strains and also others who may be using Jack or other strain for epilepsy or pain.

thanks, apologies for length.

I passed this one up because I have J1 which I really love but wanted to try somnething new. In fact J1 is my favorite of all the strains I have tried. I decieded to go with a white widow/trainwreck cross (Whitewreck) that turned out to be a total flop a B or C class. I'm really kicking myself for not going with this one. Does Jack Herer vary that greatly from J1 and if so how? I love the energy I get from J1 without the burnout. Also, I live up North in Sacramento can I write a review?

I love me some Jack Herer! I can't believe that kind of quality came from LBO. As much as I used to love that place I wound up constantly disappointed by the quality, but this stuff looks fantastic! Nice review :)
