Herbal Solutions Compassionate Caregivers (HSCC) is currently my favorite dispensary. (As of 3/1/09 it’s no longer my favorite) And it’s not only because it’s the closest one to my house either. Located in a really nice section of Long Beach, HSCC has done a very good job in my opinion of putting together a friendly, safe place to shop. And their selection is fantastic. Last time I was there they had 30+ strains to choose from. Appx. 10 kinds of concentrates and a whole bunch of edibles. It’s definitely a one stop shop. Oh and the all female staff that operate the shop are pretty hot too!
HSCC can be a little difficult to find. You have to park in a parking lot that looks like it’s for the restaurant Nico’s, but it’s actually for the building that houses HSCC, which is in the back, upstairs. As you walk up the stairs and approach the door it always opens automatically courtesy of the security guard inside. He has a monitor which allows him to watch over the entire parking lot and entrance. Which is kind of cool.
Upon entering you are greeted by the guard and asked to either have a seat, or to step up to the counter. It depends on how crowded they are. The front office is more like a doctors office than any other dispensary office I have seen yet. It’s painted all white, kind of small with a couch and a couple chairs. There is a small slide window that the office manager sits behind. She took about 5 minutes to verify me.
One thing that is a little different about HSCC is that they put a little sticker on your medical marijuana recommendation that has your HSCC i.d. on it. They require you to bring an original copy of your recommendation every time you come. No one is getting into the medicine room without one.
Last time I was there a guy came in with a recommendation that had the seal/stamp ripped out. He got denied.
Blackberry Kush Master Kush Kief
The medical marijuana available from Herbal Solutions Compassionate Caregivers is great. Every time I go they not only have at least 25 strains to choose from, but they always seem to have something new on the menu. So far I have tried their Blackberry Kush, Orgasmic OG Kush, Bob Marley’s Lamb’s Bread, Blue Dream, White Widow, Banana x True OG, Master Kush Kief and a couple kinds of hash. Last time I was there I almost got some Grand Daddy Purple but did not have enough money on me. Grams go for around $20-35 and 1/8ths go for $30-$75. Quantity discounts are available for most strains.
First timers receive a free gram and as far as specials go, on Sunday everyone gets a free gram. On wednesday you get a free 1/8th with the purchase of a $420+ ounce. Every other day you get a free joint.
I really like this dispensary. They have some really great hash to choose from like the ones I have tried, Platinum Grape Ape and True OG. Both are full melts and both tore me up. HSCC is a quality shop with quality products run but some really cool people. I highly recommend you check them out. And don’t forget to tell them Marijuana Reviews sent you.

Hagi: I am a very poor judge of edibles. I have an extremely high tolerance and for some reason edibles don’t effect me. I ate some 12x granola recently and didn’t even get a head change.
Hopefully someone else will chime in and help out. I’ll ask around too and see what I can find out.

Went their yesterday for the first time, great service friendly staff. I was surprised by the whole experience. two thumbs up.
I feel you on the edibles chubs Ive made my own brownies that I ate to much of and just past out (dont recomend doing). The edibles that Ive had here in Cali like chubs said did not even give me a head change.
@twylights: I am still on the hunt for the perfect edible. Would be very convenient to be able to have a “snack” in places where it’s not cool to blaze.
Yeh when ou find it post a serious review on it because Ive never had the perfect ballance. I either dont catch one at all or I eat too much and past out great sleep by the way.
Nice place but that’s about all. The staff was really rude and there’s nothing compassionate about these prices. They had nothing special, only location. Will never go back or recommend it.
I paid $20 for a piece of German cake and it didn’t do anything it was the worst edible I’ve ever had what a waste of money and I tried the lip edible and nothing. I felt ripped off, when I said something to the staff they just tried to push another edible on me.
Its places like these that kill it.

Thank you guys for the good reviews! I’m sorry you had some problems with our edibles the particular cake you are speaking of is made with hash and our most potent edible. Our edibles range in potency from 2X to 10X and run $5-$25. When ingesting edibles it is best to be taken on an empty stomach and the effects will more rapid (about 30-45 min). Do you currently have any Bob Marley’s Lamb Bread available and how often do you update this list? The reason being that I would be coming approximately 30 miles or more. So I and many others that I am sure would appreciate keeping your list updated and current very much. Also do you sell 1/2 OZ of Marley and if so how much?
