First off, let me start by apologizing for the above small picture. I had to rip one off the internet because every time I went to The Greenhouse, I got so damn baked that I forgot to take a picture of the storefront.
This place is great. Arjan, the owner, has really outdone himself with this newest addition to The Greenhouse family of coffee shops. He definitely takes pride in his shops and it definitely shows here. Located about 10 minutes by foot from Amsterdam Central Station, The Greenhouse has quickly become one of the hottest shops in Amsterdam.
As you walk down the street and start to get close to the shop, you start to catch a whiff of what I later found out is Super Lemon Haze. Super Lemon Haze is by far one of the best sativas I have ever smoked and as of this post is the current #1 weed in the world with it’s win at this years Cannabis Cup.
As you walk in, the first thing you notice (besides the dank weed smell) is that this place is nice. All the furniture is new, the walls have a very unique paint job that consists of a bunch of brown Japanese like characters painted on an orange wall. Who knows what the characters really are/mean? With room for appx. 50-75 people downstairs and another 25-30 upstairs, I’d call The Greenhouse a medium size coffee shop.
Another thing that hits you right away is that even though the place might be packed full of people blazing away, there is little/no smoke in the air. That’s because The Greenhouse has a state-of-the-art air filtration system that completely refreshes 100% of the air every 6 minutes. So for those of you who prefer not to hang out in an incredibly smokey environment, this is your coffee shop.
The Greenhouse is one of the only shops in Amsterdam that not only sells weed/hash, but also has a full food menu. And let me tell you from experience, the food is excellent. I recommend the big ass burger that comes with a fried egg on it.
The marijuana and hash menu at The Greenhouse is second to none. With 20+ strains of weed and 10+ kinds of hash to choose from, you are sure to find something that you’ll enjoy. I personally recommend the Super Lemon Haze (of course) and the Bubble Gum. Both are excellent.

Going into the 2008 Cannabis Cup, The Greenhouse was already the owner of 31 prior cups. And with this years marijuana entry, Super Lemon Haze, they were trying hard for number 32. I must have smoked at least a half ounce of Super Lemon Haze the week I was there for the cup and it is some delicious marijuana. When smoked, it smells and tastes unbelievably similar to Lemon Heads candy.
It was no surprise to me when I heard that Super Lemon Haze won the overall cup. Not only was it super-kind, it was available in abundance. In addition to the Super Lemon Haze, The Greenhouse also submitted an entry for the Import and Dutch Hash Cups. Super Polm, the Import Hash entry ended up taking second place as did the Greenhouse Ice in the Dutch Hash category. Both were very powerful.

The Greenhouse is a top notch coffee shop run by a top notch staff. From the food to the bud to the vibe, it’s all good. I can’t wait for the day to come again where I am sitting in The Greenhouse, waiting for my free Cannabis Cup judges breakfast. –Chubbs

Was a blast. Went to The Greenhouse probably 5 or 6 times during the week.
it´s a good place, they show you in the menu more or less what you will smoke but it´s full time all day, a lot of tough guys and that shit… good material but not good place to smoke in…

The strawberry haze is without doubt one of the tastiest strains I encountered in Amsterdam or anywhere else for that matter.
yesterday i tried for the first time the SUPER LEMON HAZE at the greenhouse.
man, it was so strong.
also experienced smokers can be impressed with this one. unbelivable.
go and try it. now.
iv been to amsterdam multiple times now and im not a HUGE fan of the greenhouse. they have a quality menu and their stores are cool. but the buds have never OVERLY impressed me. the last few trips iv gotten crumbly small buds. for me grey area, home grown fantasy,basjoes,reen place, hunters and mellow yellow are much better stops.
@mike: Unfortunately I have heard similar complaints about almost every shop in Amsterdam.
Fortunately they break out teh FIRE for The Cup.
@chubbs I can get a picture of this coffeeshop this thursday if you wish when i am over there i have selected numerous different strains for me to try while i am there which is have selected thanks to the many reviews on this website good work
dont get me wrong chubbs. its a nice coffeeshop with a quality menu. im not saying their product is bad by any means. iv just seen better around the dam. the dealers there are usualy friendly. good bongs. clean tables,etc. iv just been dissapointed in the condition of the buds iv been served. i got the super lemon haze in january which was their cc entry the prior november. it was good but i wasn’t that impressed either. being that like you im on the west coast of america maybe iv got high standards. or i guess im just biased towards grey area.
@mike: I too am on the W. Coast and agree, our herb is better. But they do have some killer sativa’s.

The sativa strains there are nice tho, very tasty, also my friend is a huge hashish fan and he smoked a few of their varieties and was very impressed.
Being in UK tho the one thing I’m desperate to try one day is some of that W coast herb, ive heard it’s the nuts xD one day perhaps…
