I will admit, Green Place was one of the shops I had initially marked as "missable" meaning if we did not have time to make it by 1 or more coffee shops, it would be one of the shops that got skipped. Something about the name just turned me off. But after hearing rumors about this epic bud they were selling called Chocolope, I decided to make the pilgrimage to the shop and see what all the fuss was about myself.
I knew I was going to like this place right when I walked in and heard Snoop Dogg blaring on the sound system. Until now I had only heard classic rock and techno, which are both okay but I am a hip-hop head. So it was nice.
The shop itself is medium size with a nice bar and a jukebox. I was there for one reason and that was for some Chocolope so I bellied up to the bar and asked to see some. The bud tender broke out with some pretty small little nuggets that I was not very impressed with. I mean don’t get me wrong, they were great buds but I had a decent walk to get to Green Place and I was day dreaming of big long dark spears. Don’t ask me why.
I asked to see the bigger buds and as usual, the guy gave me a bit of an attitude and told me that what I saw is all they had. I thought he was talking trash until I bought all they had and the guy behind me asked for some Chocolope and got denied. No more until the next day I heard them say.
ABOVE – Chocolope
I was kind of expecting the looks the guy gave me. I could tell he was frustrated about running out of Chocolope. They must of been selling it like crazy. I really liked the vibe in this coffee shop. Everyone had smiles on their faces. All the patrons seemed to be a little more upbeat than the heads you see in some shops. Maybe it was the music, who knows but it felt more like a lounge in Los Angeles than a little coffee shop in Amsterdam.
We hung out for a while. I burned a few bowls of Chocolope along with some hash that I had from a couple other shops. Most shops frown upon you walking in and just smoking what you have on you but since I had just bought some bud, I felt okay. As usual by the time were ready to leave, I was fried. I can remember just sitting there bobbing my head, totally feeling the beat. I could of sat there for another 2 hours easily just getting baked.
If you are in Amsterdam, and need a cool spot to kick back, listen to good music and smoke some killer weed then stop by Green Place, tell em we sent you.

Seems decent.
Nice that had some hip-hop going. I’m a hip-hop/rap fan myself. Haha.
Seems like a real chill place to be.
Sucks about them running out. I wonder if it happens to a lot of at these places?
Anyways, nice review.
If I recall correctly, coffee shops are allowed to have up to 500 grams on hand at one time.
They are subject to random inspections from what I have read.
So if you have say 10 strains on the menu, thats only 50 grams per strain.
It’s not uncommon for them to run out and have to reup. But it usually only takes 15-60 minutes.
I see. Thanks for answering my question!
Green Place rules, this person’s review is great, I also was lucky enough to stumble upon Coffeeshop Green Place, when I was in Amsterdam. It’s the chillest, most relaxin, and straight up pimping coffeeshop in Amsterdam! Respect! after I found this refuge I spent most of my time blazin with the owner! Awesome times!
Thanks for all the good smoke Moe!
American Dream! just role it ALL up!

Green Place sells some fantastic L.A.Confidential!
At 14euro a gram you could say it is pricey material , but it is simply the cleanest bud, from great genetics.
The backroom is very nice.Classy, and comfortably lit.
Worth a visit!
Is it the shop with the psychedelic swirl on the back wall above the verdamper? I love whatever shop i’m talking about it but as I found it once by accident, I don’t know the name…
went there ’cause i heard about their good weed, found everything really expensive and the dealer had a 6 year old kid behind the bar with him (both illegal and irresponsible) – rather disappointed by the whole set up, so i left
A: Have to agree, kids behind the bar is never good.
who ever wrote this review is a twat. “where are the big buds” heh he.
@wary: Um, I wrote this review.
cheese
I had a great time at Green Place last year, but the weed I bought there wasn’t as good as the stuff I got at Grey Area, Kandinsky or Abraxas. (It all depends on the buds themselves, so it’s not like I wouldn’t got there again.) Atmosphere was chill though, and the staff was very helpful.
damp king sold some lovley chocolope i was very very high
Yea,
The Green Place won for The Headband recently.
I’ve noticed a growing popularity for the headband
from NorCal. I can post a review if you would like !?
Ya Headband was big this year in the start of summer…we were selling some organic HB we got from a East Bay vendor.
The green place is one of may favourite coffee shops and has some of the highest quality of weed, in my opinion, in the city.
The best kush’s in the city no doubt: Purple kush, Headband, OG Kush, Strawberry Kush and my new favourite Reserva Privada’s Kandy Kush.
My main problem with Amsterdam coffeeshops is that alot of the weed is produced for a mass-consumer market and sometimes i’ve found the quality of some of the weed to suffer as a result of this in various locations across the city.
The Green Place was an exception to this as i found there quality to be of a consistantly high standard.
