A few years ago I went to one of the best concerts of my life. Here is the story of this wonderful day.
I was on my way home from Lake Tahoe after an epic weekend of boarding around Squaw and Northstar. Anyway, I get a call from one of my buddies saying that he has 2 tickets to a Gnarls Barkley and Flaming Lips show at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. I said hell yes. I get home and immediately go to the city for the show. My other friend who had been invited was bringing the goods.
I believe we smoked one jizzo of White Lights (Northern Lights x White Rhino) during the Gnarls Barkley set and one jay of an unnamed killer (forgot which one) during the Flaming Lips set.
The Gnarls Barkley set was mind blowing. They came on stage wearing space suits and a huge screen behind them looped pictures of galaxies (great touch). I don’t need to tell you that it was awesome. I remember thinking that the Flaming Lips better rock my socks off or else. Holy crap I knew right when Wayne Coyne (lead singer) came out in this inflatable hamster bubble thing that this show was going to be great.
There were some streamers going everywhere and a whole lot of audience interaction, a great music experience. I’d recommend to anyone who gets the chance to see either bands, take it, they are both great showmen and hey maybe you will luck out and get to see them together. It happens. –BertSugar
While I agree that the concert was probably a blast, I wish you would of given us some more detail about both the herb you smoked and the herb scene at the concert. Next time.

The white lights made the Gnarls Barkley set a whole lot better it felt as though you were being sucked in to the drummers bass drum. The visuals and lights show took you to that edge between seizure and ecstacy. I don’t know exactly what can take the high to that next level but I was most def there and then some. This auditorium can hold 7,000 people and it was boxed extremely well. Really it was about the show and the green was more of an ingredient into the night than the night itself but wow it was great
I live in Oklahoma. I go to the Flaming Lips new years concert every year. I can tell you. There are so many kinds of buds. chocolate covered mushrooms. LSD. pretty much anything you can Imagine. Great show too. Always kicks ass
