So the story behind how I found The Farmacy is a good one. A while back I decided to go on a drive and hit 5 medical marijuana dispensaries. I had already been to The Valley and was going to make 1 stop in W. Hollywood at Alternative Herbal Health Services (A.H.H.S.) then move on. After having been to A.H.H.S. I was across the street taking a picture of it when I caught a whiff of some good green bud. At first I thought it was coming from A.H.H.S. which was across Santa Monica Blvd, a very wide four lane highway.
Took me a minute but I realized there could be no way I was smelling the bud from across the street so I turn around and BAM! I was standing directly in front of The Farmacy. So of course I decided to go in and see what they had going on.
WOW! The Farmacy is by far the most professional medical marijuana dispensary I have been to yet. Upon walking in you are greeted by 1 of 2 very friendly guys (friendly guys in W. Hollywood, go figure!) who is sitting behind a desk. Each of the guys have 2 Apple computers and there is a monitor that is hooked up to a camera overlooking the medicine area in the back. The lobby is pretty big with an ATM and some chairs to sit and wait if the guys behind the desk are busy. There was a security guard standing at the entrance to the medicine room that watched over everything.
I sat at the desk in front of one of the guys and started the process. Like I said he was very cool. Took my recommendation and started the verification process. While he was looking me up, I realized I forgot to feed the parking meter and panicked! Luckily they not only had a change dish for me to grab from, they also validate parking tickets for the lot behind them. Had I known that I would have not parked on the street. Either way, parking is a breeze.
By the time I ran back across the street, dude already had me all set. But instead of me going right back to the medicine room, he sat me down and proceeded to school me in the ways of medical marijuana and how they operate at The Farmacy. After about 5 minutes I was good to go. Before heading into the back, you are handed a raffle ticket to use at the entrance which you then hand to the security guard about 2 feet away. It was a little odd.
So after getting by guard #1, I walked into the medicine room and guard #2 immediately asked me to please have a seat and as soon as one of the employees was done with their current customer, I could step up. While I was sitting and waiting, another guy walked in and went straight to the concentrates table. A big no-no. Security guard #2 rushed him and asked him to have a seat.
Mr. Nice Sour Diesel
The marijuana selection at The Farmacy is top notch. Everything they sell is grown organically and that is something that they take a lot of pride in. I went with a gram of Mr. Nice and Sour Diesel each for $20 (With my first timer 25% discount I paid $15/each). They had bud that was both cheaper and more expensive. I remember seeing some Sensi Star that I wanted to try but I had spent too much money earlier in the day at Delta 9 and was broke. In addition to great bud, The Farmacy has some killer concentrates starting at $20 and going all the way up to $75. From full melt hash to frozen trichomes, they got it. And their selection of edibles is as good as everything else. My free gift was a grape sucker that was AWESOME!
Overall I’d say this is one of the best medical marijuana dispensaries in Southern California. They really take pride in their work and in the products they are selling. The Farmacy is definitely a place I’ll be frequenting in the very near future. –Chubbs

Weed Map:

Farmacy definitely has some of the best organic buds in SoCal.
I’ve been to the Farmacy 3 times and can’t stand the place.
The sign that reads “only organic” made me want to check it out, but it’s a weak marketing scheme to get you to think that they are on point with what they do.
Being a new patient… I had to wait to get my papers checked which I don’t mind doing, however they were helping people who arrived after me which made my wait pretty long. Weak.
Once my paper work was checked and approved I went in the main room to scope out the selection. Weak… at least for the jacked up pricing. Everything from their top notch OG, all the way down to their low grade was over priced. I still had to check out what this place was about since I live down the street and they claim they are Organic.
My first visit I got their top notch OG (It had a fancy name but I cant remember it). They only sell this strain for $25 per gram, but you can only get it by the gram, which means i paid $75 for 3 grams. That’s LAME. Anyway… It was definitely great OG, but not as stinky and potent as the $60 OG (3.5 grams) I can get down the street.
The second time I went, I checked out their Jack Herer. Once again, not the best batch I’ve tried and it was overpriced. Nothing about the strain made me think this was the spot.
The last and final time I went their I wanted to try their low end selection, so I looked at the selection and was disgusted. Not even bud shake, more like sun leaves. I decided on the Goblin Goo or Goblins Gift or something like that. Super Crap!!! I wouldn’t even put that crap in my compost pile.
What bothers me more about the Farmacy then their overpriced mediocre flowers is their staff of BIG HEADS. First let me start by saying, I am a fun loving straight forward guy who likes to smile and appreciates life, people, and the cannabis culture to the fullest. When I go in to collective to donate money for flowers, I don’t want to deal with arrogant people.
From the time I would sign in until the time I would cash out… The staff I dealt with displayed two common things, Ego and Ignorance. I’m sure who ever put the Farmacy together knows what’s up, but the people I interacted with do not. If I wanted to spend money with people who are rude and don’t know what their doing then I will go to the DMV.
chief chiefa: Okay Chief, quit with sugar coating and let us know how you really feel.
My last 2 trips to The Farmacy have been about the same as yours. I am going to have to do either an update or a whole new review soon.
Oh yeah, go to http://en.gravatar.com/ and set up your Gravatar so you don;t have that big blue “G” next to your name.
You guys are the best. Very helpful and awesome med!
Yea i’ve been there acouple times..really sketchy shop. probably because their out in the open and leave the door wide open for the public to smell and get an idea on whats going on. point recognized how the guy who wrote this whole shit found the shop. and once your in there they give you a bullshit lecture on how to keep it on the “low” which to me is pretty ironic. They got 2 to 3 guards during the day that not only stand around the shop but also standby the street and by the market next to it. They even have locals watching out to see if you park around the shop or if you have someone in the car with you, being said they’ll staple a fuckin piece of paper to your brownbag that tells you not to have people in the car ect. yada yada bullshit..
after the process bullshit and the sketchy guard waiting to see your raffel ticket to get in they have you sit and wait, once its your turn they give you this rude ass manner like they hate their job which i find hard to believe, almost like their rushing you.you really dont even have time to check oput what they got, the longer you take, the more arrogant they get. once you picked out their over priced merchandise, they make you take a quick whiff. this is the only shop ive been too that doesnt let you touch their bud, and by shop experience its not all about the smell to it.
and last but not least is their bullshit tax and skimpy ass shit hookups. my dubs came out to like 21.95 and 60dollar 1/8 were like 64.99.. i remember the guy threw in a few nugs that weighed out to about 1.1, he actually brokeoff the top of the nug with his chopsticks they use. I mean i dont think it would of hurt for the extra .1 especially when they charged me an extra 1.95. nah, this shop is definitly two thumbs down.
I recommend UHC on barham blvd across from universal studios. Or valley patients on woodmanave and osbourne in arleta. Hollywood alone is a sketchy ass place, you can already imagine how the shops are..=P
I have been to this place more times than I care to say. I went because They were one of my first co-ops. I just did not know any better,The front desk Is nice But once you get In the backroom the attitude is pretty bad(except for the girl with the pierced lip she’s very cool!)The meds.were not that good, they charge tax,and they seem to get praise from alot of people who are known.(Drew Cary ect.)Even my recomending Doctor said most of his people did not like the place. This Is just my opinion, But It seems to be a common one.
sounds like ill be taking a trip over there. Are they related to the Pharmacy here in Venice?
@MJBoy: If the spot in Venice spells their name “Farmacy” then I’d guess yes, they are related.
I know all about the farmacy, and yes they are arrogant bastards, they act like their shit don’t stink, well I’ve got news for them I don’t need their way over priced meds so I’ve set up my own garden and will never have to endure the nazi camp like conditions at the rediculous farmacy screw you farmacy and drew the shrew carey, besides what does that idiot know about anything…..
overpriced meds, rude service……when my friend bought a clone ….a guy poured a bunch of pages on the table that were paper copies of drivers licences and searched through for my friends……this is a breach of patient confidentiality and i should have sued them over it …..when i questioned their “methods” i was told by a worker, named phil , ” hey ….i dont have to sell you anything” ……I did not back down and said no …you are storing your data wrong ..this is illegal ..showing customer data to everyone ….he admitted it was wrong but never apologized….this is unacceptable …i was told the owner would call me ….he didnt …..
i would absolutely NEVER go back …you guys lost a new customer….you are rude……and the way you handle your patients data is completely assanine and wrong ….if you bought a clone their …each time someone else gets one …your drivers license is being shown to everyone ……
complete negative 4 star rating
i think the catch phrase should now be
RUDE SERVICE, OVERPRICED MEDS, NO PATIENT CONFIDENTIALITY
lets see how long it takes them to change the confidentiality issue then deny this issue ever happened
good choice
I need someone to assist me …please…
