I had no idea that there were so many different brands of grinders. Check out this review that MR member Tokinn sent in of his Cosmic 4 Piece Grinder.

Cons: None. Worth the price for a lifetime grinder in my opinion.
Comments: After learning to appreciate some of the finer things in life, mainly kind buds, I knew a grinder that meant business was in immediate order. I went to check the selection at my personal town head shop and Cosmic was the only brand they chose to carry.
My friend there chose to explain that hands down Cosmic is just the best, the original, and it definitely fit the bill and was exactly the quality I was hoping to find, so out of the 1.5″($40), 2.0″(60), and 2.5″($80) I had to go with the biggest!
The main things that I was looking for were durable threads and a strong screen, it was an awesome bonus that it also featured a magnetic lid and a bass guitar style kief pick.
Right away I tossed in some Kush nugs to bust up and this thing spun like butter! To this day it still spins and grinds just as smooth, I have not encountered 1 flaw.
This is my first grinder above the $40 range so I do not have other quality items to compare it to, but this grinder makes the mix exactly how I like it. Some grinders grind it down too sandy, some too chunky, this grinder seems to make it…. flaky almost, every bong packed seemed to crimp down and stuff itself together so perfectly because of the even mixture. It’s so great to work with.
The Cosmic 4 Piece Grinder really has changed my herb smoking experience for the better, anyone not doing themselves the favor of owning a quality 4 piece grinder is missing out on some quality, hassle-free smoking. –Tokinn

Thanks for the write-up the cosmic grinders look very comparable to the space case grinders which cost a bit more. In fact I’ve read elsewhere that the cosmic grinders are designed by the original space case makers who got screwed by the current space case manufacter.
I like the fact that those cosmic grinders have the friction reducing gasket on the lid and also the fact that the the chamber above the screen is deep. Two nice improvements to the space case design IMO.
$78?!?!?! I have one a little bigger, 4 piece, bought in Seattle… HALF the price!!!
