We had a review of the Funk Master last week, thought it would be nice to compare with the straight Funk.

Type: Indica

Genetics: Master x Hindu x Bubba

Price: $20/gram, $60/8th

Looks: Right off, this looks like some straight bedtime medication to me. Beautiful milky white trichs cover every inch. The leaf material is mostly a deep shade of purple, and the rest of the flower is an army/olive green, speckled here and there by dark orange pistils. I just have to comment on how amazingly beautiful this strain is, specifically the nugs I received. Also, being one who studies matters such as sacred geometry and such, I was also impressed to witness the triangular shapes of the almost all the nugs that made up my 8th. Kudos, Cannabis!

Smell: Very dark and woodsy. Almost nutty, incredibly earthy and dank. The smell is so unique to Bubba and Master Kushes around Los Angeles. I refer to it as the "coffee kush smell" for lack of a more on point description.

Taste: Similar to the smell. It has a very mentholated and dry woodsy quality to the smoke. I enjoy it thoroughly. My good friend commented that it was "charcoal-y" tasting (not to be mistaken for harshness because it was anything but). In a positive light, I can see what he means, and I dig it.

Buzz Type: Strong body high. This is some lethargic nighttime medicine. I love hitting bowls of this strain before bedtime. Reminds me of the earlier times I got baked. Slightly ethereal and psychedelic as well. Almost like LA Con, but way more narcotic. A real keeper in my ‘bedtime’ book!

Length: Long. 2-2 1/2 hrs. Again, I never time my bedtime smoke’s buzz length because I go to sleep shortly after.

Overall: I was more than satisfied with the NUGGETRY Funk. The color of the buds is enough to make me squeal like a little girl in anticipation. This is some decently potent nightcap/pain management medicine. I bought an 8th of it before I left on a 2- 1/2 week trip out to TX, and I left more than half of the 8th home. So when I returned, needless to say I was quite the eager beaver. And needless to say I was thrilled to find out that my beautiful 8th had not been dried out, and smelled just as woodsy and smooth as how I left it. –Merkaba

Based on the pictures and taste, I think NUGGETRY Funk is a hair better than NUGGETRY Funk Master. –Mrs. Chubbs

Type: Hybrid – it’s a special phenotype of an OG Kush, sativa/indica mix from DNA Genetics.

Price: ?

Looks: I think it was cut down a bit early, but it looks great! The color is like a tropical tree frog. Nice trichs.

Smell: Real deal Kush mixed with a little Sour Diesel and a tiny whiff of cherry. Heavenly funky stuff that make me wanna eat it…mmmmm.

Taste: Like the smell but the Sour Diesel dominates the taste. I LOVE Sour Diesel so for me that’s a good thing!

Buzz Type: Super strong hit by a truck buzz! Knocking me down like I’m shot with an elephant tranquilizer gun. Holy ****! After 20 minutes it turns into a full mind and body high.

Buzz Length: Medium. 90 minutes.

Overall: I love it!! Good movie/gaming weed! OG #18 and a PS3 in one room makes you never wanna leave! Smells wicked, taste’s good, buzz like OMFG. I am high off the OG #18 now and it’s a winner in all wayz!!!!! –Chemdog

Genetics: Vanilla OG x Grape Ape

Looks: Gorgeous tiny golf balls hints of purple covered in trichomes and hairs.

Smell: Kinda of a vanilla pine mixture. Vanilla Pine Sol?

Taste: Just like vanilla ice cream.

Buzz Type: Medium – heavy big time creeper. Still creeping as I type this. Getting heavier as I speak but still not the heaviest of heavy indicas. Good to go out at night bud. Whatever gets you through the night. It’s alright.

Buzz Length: Medium – Long. 1 1/2 – 2 hours from 3 solid puffs off a bowl.

Overall: Listen, everything at CPA is A – A+. I’m not sure I’d get this one again, but it’s still an extremely high quality indica from the NUGGETRY guys. I’d rather smoke a strong sativa like Jack Herer or Silver Surfer because in an indica I’m looking for a lot of pain relief. Let’s just say it’s no Chunkle.

Buzz Report: Change this to an A+ (was originally submitted as an A). Kept on creeping and creeping and was heavier than I expected. At $55/8th I will reconsider this one if it’s on the menu and pick it up for sure. –_spoon_

OK, so here’s the dealio. IE420Patient was fortunate enough to try the NUGGETRY Green Crack twice. This “version” as he calls it, is from a different grower in the NUGGETRY family with a different cutting. Let’s read on to see that the differences are:

Name: NUGGETRY Green Crack

Grade: A

Type: Sativa

Price: $55/8th

Looks: Almost exactly like Green Crack Version 1 (V1) but, a bit lighter in green color.

Smell: Just like a pitcher of southern sweet tea.

Taste: Initially, the taste is very earthy with a bit of sour lemon funk hitting the back of the throat with the exhale. Rips very smooth with a sweet dry after taste that lingers in your mouth.

Buzz Type: Hits you right between the eyes. Noticeable cerebral pressure with light tingle around the nose. Tingle intensifies through the entire body. The tingle is similar to the effects of beta alanine (an ingredient used in body building products). I found myself wanting to move around a lot and I could not sit still.

Buzz Length: Above Average.

Overall: This version of Green Crack hit me in ways very different than other batches of Green Crack I’ve had. This version smoked very smooth; not as harsh as other batches I’ve tried. Unlike V1 this Version 2 (V2) motivates me to get up and move around vs. being immersed in the moment.

I felt my body jittery but, the head high was more heavy and mellower vs. V1 (which was more a heavy and uplifting high) and that head high overtakes the body buzz about half hour into a session. This version also had some great legs … the buzz length was noticeably longer. For reference, average to me is up to a hour, above average is past the hour mark with what I’d consider to be a small bowl fill (I am assuming my bowls are much smaller than most readers here).

Now to the million dollar question … which one is better? V1 at $60 or this V2 at $55? I think it will really depends on the kind of head buzz you are looking for. I say both are solid As. For me, I prefer V1 only because when it comes to sativas I want to be uplifted with focus. I desire that sense of extreme awareness and focus with sativas.

It’s hard to explain but, in terms of the actual head buzz, think of the head tingle being way more intense with V1 which I prefer. This one did not work my head the same way but I felt way more jittery in the body with V2. Because the head high was not as intense, I can work while medicating with V2 but, only for short periods as that jitteriness keeps me getting up from my desk chair. So for me, V1 would be for those times where I need visual enhancement and focus and V2 would be for the times where I had to do activities such as clean the house, work in the yard/garage, etc. Hope you guys understand all that! -IE420Patient

We’ve been getting a ton of NUGGETRY reviews, and I would feel remiss if I didn’t post them But I’m still gonna bring you reviews from everyone else. Trust me, we have loads in the queue.

I have learned that CPA has two versions of Green Crack. This is the original. I will post the follow-up review of #2 tomorrow.

Name: Green Crack

Type: Sativa

Genetics: Possibly -> Skunk #1 x Sweet Leaf Afghani

Price: $60/8th

Looks: Tight and somewhat dense nugs. Squeezing a nug with two fingers is like squeezing a roll of Charmin (very soft with a rigid bounce back). Some nugs are so trich’ed out they look white. Noticeable protruding orange hairs which seems to be a signature of Green Crack.

Smell: Like fermented fruit. Very sweet with some funk on the back end. I am diggin’ the smell of this one. The smell intensifies if you put it through a grinder.

Taste: A bit fruity and tropical leaning more towards a sour lemony and pineapple side. Smokes a bit harsh. I coughed on every rip.

Buzz Type: Intense full body tingle. Extreme awareness. I killed all the lights in my house and on plasma watched Tron in HD and just got immersed in the colors. I also watched 2001: A Space Odyssey on this too. Movies like these on Green Crack took it to a whole other level. When “anyone” says that doing something is so better when done high/medicated/stoned, this is the kind of bud they are referring to. Green Crack “enhanced” everything!

Buzz Length: Medium.

Overall: This is a very solid batch of sativa. But, this is not the first time I’ve tried Green Crack. Looking back at my notes/files I have a Green Crack “folder” created from October 2009. I got it from a LA collective but, did not find it memorable or good enough take notes on it (and/or do a review). I just have photos. So, when I saw this on the menu at CPA I really did not give it much attention. But smelling and seeing this particular batch under the microscope changed my mind and thus, I had to give it a shot again and I am glad I did.

It seems like on the sativa side of the MMJ scale, the really good ones come and go and are not always widely available like the better Indicas. Hope this level of Green Crack stays around for sometime… one of the best sativas I’ve medicated with in a long time! The only thing stopping this from being an “A+” is the buzz length. I need one bowl too many to get me to a level I like. –IE420Patient

Looks: Not dry like stress. Snow fell from heaven all over this holy green flower. You can press a nug tightly and it’ll hold the flattened form.

Smell: Marshy. At one point, I found myself eyes closed, nose dunked into – actually touching – the freshly ground Kush. Tangy. Smooth. Rich. Confident. Gentle. There’s a “thol” in there, but I’m not sure it’s “menthol”. Some would say it’s a “Sol” but I don’t like comparing marijuana to cleaning products.

Taste: Using Vapor Genie. Somewhat like the Jupiter I’ve smoked. I usually just taste piney light menthol unless it’s middle to low grade no-flavor. But Kush has something different, something reminiscent of wet grass or hay, but not in a bad way.

Buzz Type: Body and Head. Head feels light, balloon-like, and empty. Usually, that’s a description of a blonde cheerleader, but whatever. (Note: I really have met some very intelligent blonde cheerleaders.)

Nice, relaxing body, focused mind on work, and motivated me enough to take a bunch of glamour shots of its flowers, and to submit this review. That’s a self-reflexive sort of creativity, but what the hell.

Buzz Length: A long time. Gently tapers off. Warning: You will want to immediately smoke more. A great strain to medicate with, but may have the potential to become addictive. Please medicate responsibly.

Overall: It’s a one-two knockout hybrid kush – a mellow joy. At one point, I opened my vapor genie to find a freshly packed bowl, then found myself thanking my previous self from minutes before for giving me this kind little surprise… I really don’t know if I want to smoke anything but kush now. Maybe I’m just entering an “OG fad” or something, but great marijuana is great marijuana no matter what you call it, and this is GREAT MARIJUANA. In sum, Obama lives up to his presidential status. –MMC

Looks: Trich crusted and semi-dense light and dark green buds.

Smell: Sour and funky gym socks.

Taste: Hints of sour lemon and a slight “flat” aftertaste.

Buzz Type: Cerebral – Head felt very loose and clear, Full Body – lots of tingle and itch, Slightly Hallucinogenic, the Giggles – I had the urge to watch the movie Killer Klowns from Outer Space which made me laugh my ass off.

Buzz Length: Above Average – Long.

Overall: With all the new boutique and designer strains out there, it’s good know that a now “classic” can still hold its own. Because of all the new varieties, I tend to overlook strains such as Chem Dawg. But rest assured, if faced with tons of choices and you don’t have a clue, consider Chem Dawg a safe bet.

I’ve had this strain only once before and my comparing my notes, both times Chem Dawg produced the same buzz properties. My “high” was very unique with this one. I don’t think I’ll be day medicating with this one if I have something important to do. But, if I don’t have sh*t to do, and want to be energized and not couch locked, this is a top pick for me. I found my mind wandering quite a bit on this and over-analyzing things. Sounds were amplified (the birds outside sounded kick ass, it felt like I was hearing “things” miles away).

So, although I felt “uplifted and clear” being focused was not a strong point of this strain for me as the “enjoyable surroundings” made me continually shift focus. It’s better to be outdoors while medicating with this one or in a casual social gathering. For you kids out there, drop the “X” and smoke some Chem Dawg before raving – back in my “club” days (uh, umm), this would have been my top pick Sativa for a good night out. –IE420Patient

Looks: Bright green Christmas trees covered in trichomes and hairs.

Smell: Citrus, pine and diesel fuel.

Taste: Pretty citrusy on the way in pretty spicy citrus on the way out. Solid taste. It has that old school kushy flavor going for it.

Buzz Type: Solid body buzz. Crept up on me. A few puffs of this is great for a night out at the bar or a concert in my opinion. Another quality NUGGETRY creation.

Buzz Length: Long – 2+ hours.

Overall: I actually prefer the NUGGETRY Funk to the Funk Master. Buzzes are similar but the flavor of the Funk I like better. Overall though still an A+ bud coming from the guys at NUGGETRY and CPA. A very solid body stone that you can enjoy any evening with. I wouldn’t call this a sleeper but it’s definitely a strong indica that relieves pain. A very cerebral bud. –_spoon_

Looks: Dense, blinged out forest green broccoli looking nugs with red/orange “hair.”

Smell: That distinct “Pine-Sol” odor toned down a bit but with added chili pepper.

Taste: For its power, this is a smooth smoking OG. A very earthy/portobello mushroom kind of taste fills the mouth when ripping a milky bong.

Buzz Type: Couch lock. The one, two, knock out punch. Ideal for intense pain relief and insomnia. This bud is NOT shy. Not a creeper. Play with this one and be prepared to “fight” if you want to stay up as your body will melt and you’ll feel as if you were on the bottom of a dog pile with all the numbing pressure this brings.

Buzz Length: Above Average to Extra Long.

Overall: Damn! A true A+ grow here – not for the faint at heart. It’s very common for me to do some business recaps for my job just past midnight daily. I took a rip of this (mind you AFTER being on a solid Sativa run up to just a hour or so before this) around 11:45pm and I was literally fighting my eyes closing within 10 minutes. I start some work past midnight and typically this work is completed within 15 minutes. Shiiiiieeet!

It was hell and I put up a good fight but, it took me damn near an hour to complete a typical 15 minute task. The whole time I was just melting away, fighting off sleep with eyes filled with pools of tears. Slept like a newborn baby but my eyes were crusted and itchy the next morning when waking up for about half hour! If you are out there dropping Vicodin pills constantly, this is what you need! Fact is, if you name something “Poison,” it better be fire and this one case where the naming of this bud is oh, so justified.

Just a word of caution, Poison OG hits hard – very hard. This is one Indica I would not medicate heavily with during the day; especially if I have “responsibilities” to do. –IE420Patient
