Name: Silver OG Kush

From: Private Dealer

Grade: A-

Type: Hybrid (Sativa dominant)

Genetics: I was told it is a cross between Silver Haze x OG Kush

Price: $60/8th, $320/oz

Looks: Fluffy and silvery. Very light green, small buds with blood red hairs throughout. The trichs on this glittered in the light like silver dust.

Smell: Strong, but more of a hazy smell than kush. It had a bit of the kush skunkiness to it, but the first thing I thought of when I smelled this was a fresh field after a rainstorm. Kind of obscure description I know, but that’s what it says in my notes so I’m running with it – haha.

Taste: Light and hashy, but with a distinct sweet and sour aftertaste, like Sour Patch but not as sour.

Buzz Type: Light. This is a definite morning smoke. I felt energized and active after smoking a bowl of this, and halfway through a joint I found myself looking for things to do other than watch “Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia’” and play video games.

One of the more energetic OG Kush’s I have had.

Buzz Length: Short-Medium. Depending on the amount smoked this stuff had the unfortunate habit of fading pretty quickly. The peak lasted for a good 45 min-1 hour, but after that it gradually wore off until I found myself packing another bowl and lighting up just about 2 hours after initial lift off. Wish it could have been longer, but excellent nonetheless.

Overall: Awesome bud that gave me a perspective on the other kind of OG, the sativa dominant kind. I definitely enjoyed this on those sunny mornings before classes, but only wish that it lasted longer so I didn’t burn through my bag so quickly.

Buzz Report: While not the strong, knock-you-out kind of OG Kush I reviewed earlier, this definitely has its appeal. The bud looks, smells, and tastes fantastic, but its only flaw is the shortness of length.

My buddy tells me he is working on a Frankenstein project of sorts trying to cross Super Silver Haze genetics with this Silver OG Kush. As soon as I have the bud I will send in a review because it is sure to be MONSTROUS!!! –Heavyhitter88

I know, I know…you’ve probably had enough of OG Kush. But I thought this would be interesting cause it’s not some funky named OG Kush and it’s from Ontario, Canada.

Looks: Covered from top to bottom in trichomes. A deep purple near the tops of half the buds. Very appealing.

Smell: Penetrating. Signature kush scent.

Taste: Fresh, full kush flavor. Pleasant aftertaste, though it does not last long.

Buzz Type: Immediate. Felt behind the eyes before you’re finished exhaling. You’ll need a few moments to gather yourself after a big hit of this OG, and it might just put you to sleep if you smoke too much.

Buzz Length: Long. 2.5hrs easily. Beware of the burnout.

Overall: With kush becoming more and more popular by the hour, more and more growers are trying their hand at it with mixed results. This is one of the better batches that I’ve seen recently. There was nothing about it that I had a problem with, and I tend to be picky when it comes to quality herb. –stak

I just have to ask – m1ke, what are the buds sitting on in the first picture?

Today, I watched a competition on the Food Network between food stylists – people who set up food for photographers (mostly for magazine ads and such). Made me think about how we have some really beautiful photos and nicely placed nugs. Hmmm, maybe that’s a good contest in the future!

Looks: A nice earthy looking green. Very soft and almost fuzzy looking all around. Well cured and perfectly dried bud.

Nice and spongy buds that immediately pop back to their original shape when slightly squeezed. If you squeeze too hard and destroy the trichs, then it will stay squished.

Smell: Like someone opened a fresh can of coffee with a little bit of spice as well. It has a very musky smell to it that only a mason jar could contain. When you open it, it’s incredible how powerful it is filling the room and seeping upstairs.

Taste: Amazing and heavy. The taste is triple what it smells like. It is such a soft and gentle smoke that just seems to suck the life out of you as you exhale.

Buzz Type: Very strong and taking full effect over 5-10 min.

Buzz Length: Very long. 3+ hours. It seems to linger along for a very long time and I still feel like I’m wearing glasses 3 hours later with a slight weight on the bridge of my nose and under my eyes.

Overall: These buds were surprisingly clear for an indica similar to that crazy purple I had reviewed earlier, but not presenting the same way glimmering all over. However, crack these buds open and it’s incredible, golden right down to the center, almost blinding. –m1ke

Looks: Solid, sticky indica. Very well formed nugs. The herb is a light olive green, and the untrimmed leaf is a little darker forest green.

Short clusters of dark orange hairs all over as well. Doesn’t look covered in trichs at first glance, but a closer look reveals sparkly resin glands with shorter stalks and milky heads. The nugs look wet almost! Visually appealing for a fan of bomb ass Kush.

Smell: Warning – if staying low key is a concern, you might want a blow tube, or incense or Febreeze.

When my nose was handed the jar of Herojuana, it melted with pleasure. Strong, STRONG, musky OG smell. Very kushy. Almost like the beloved PR OG.

Big earthy flavor. Do not be alarmed if other people in your sesh ask you to blow your hit in their faces. It’s that dank. Basically, the smell will get you high.

Taste: Unbelievable classic kush taste. Strong on the inhale, sweet on the exhale. That kind of "marijuana mint" flavor if that makes any sense

Buzz Type: Overall stoning of all perception; be it audio, visual, sensory, or spiritual in nature. The body buzz immediately takes focus on your forehead and upper body/ torso.

As a creator of sounds (musician), I find this bud to hold somewhat inspiring and creative effects. Typical indica high. A very nice bedtime bowl too. Patients suffering from insomnia know what I’m talking about.

Buzz Length: Not at as long as an insanely cerebral sativa, but it’s short to medium depending on how much you use. A couple snappers and normal sized bowls will have you in the kindest of spirits.

Overall: Very potent herb. Smokes and burns really nice like all amazing kind bud should. Strong indica stone and a nice mellowing of a tense mood.

I don’t believe the price is reasonable by any means; I don’t exactly feel that herb should have any price, but I had the extra $5 today and I said f*&k it. First $25g I’ve bought.

HIGHLY recommended for the Kush or Indica lover, or just an all around OG fan. I’d love to see some Herojuana full melt hash. Maybe in the bowl of my bong, with some Herojuana Kief to top it all off! Goooood night insomnia! –Merkaba

Looks: A very middle-of-the-road green color, large flowers, frosty with a smattering of orange hairs here and there.

Smell: Spicy perfume-like smell, very much like OG Kush.

Taste: Strong. Nice resin taste if you can avoid coughing.

Buzz Type: Mild head buzz. Appetite stimulant. Minor uplift. Just didn’t seem as potent as it looks.

Buzz Length: Short-Medium. 1-2 hours.

Overall: Those expecting an indica kush high will be disappointed. If you look at it as a sativa it’s OK but not nearly as good as something like ATF, or original OG Kush. It was advertised as a sativa by the dispensary.

Buzz Report: Took one bong hit of this for a wake n’ bake. It was nice for a while but I ended up smoking the whole gram by lunchtime. –necros

The more reviews/pictures we post, I think everyone is starting to step up their photo game. Too bad there isn’t a career for bud photography. There are food photographers/stylists…I see the same for medical marijuana in the future.

Looks: Little red hairs and THC crystals were apparent under close examination. The term "sticky icky" fits the look very well.

Smell: Another bud that would get you caught if you didn’t mask up the smell.

If you have to hide weed from anyone, this is not the bud for you, it will smell up your room like no other. The smell was like gasoline with a hint of pine.

Taste: It’s Kush, so naturally… it tasted kushy. Smooth smoke, no burning of throat/groggy feeling afterwards. Also, not only because its kush, but because it is even mentioned in the name – it is somewhat sour, not that noticeable, but to a first time smoker it might describe it as sour.

If I had to describe it in two words… Sour Wood would be what came to mind.

Buzz Type: Hard hitting, after only a few hits you might need to sit down to smoke the rest of the bowl(s).

It hits you fast and after 10 minutes you’re already in its prime and it stays that way for a good while.

Buzz Length: Very Long…like really, really long. My friend and I smoked at 7 and we weren’t completely normal until the next morning, but it’s prime ended around 11 – two regular sized joint for two people, probably .5 – .6 gram.

Overall: I would definitely buy this strain again without hesitation. This strain will get you so high you’ll feel like Snoop Dog.

A really great strain besides the smell, and for its moderate price it’s a catch. If you see this strain don’t even hesitate to get at least a sample.

Buzz Report: My friend says he nearly went blind for about 5 or 10 minutes. I didn’t experience this same effect but this indica is very heavy.

If you’re a wake ‘n baker…well I assure you this isn’t for you. This is a get home from school/work and relax till bedtime bud. There isn’t any other way to put it, this buzz is as relaxing as it gets. –weed at its finest

Looks: Dense, with lots of crystals and long orange hairs. It’s very white from all the trichomes with a medium green color underneath.

Smell: A very strong, crisp OG smell with a hint of skunkiness.

Taste: Strong and bold, but very clean tasting with a nice smoke expansion. Tastes like a good OG should.

Buzz Type: Although it’s a sativa dominant, I could still feel the indica in it. It’s a very nice mix of both highs and it’s good to smoke throughout the day. For the most part though it is quite a strong head high.

Buzz Length: Medium-long. 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours. I smoked three snaps out of my bong before my college class and it had me stoned until I got out of class.

Overall: Well, let me just say this is an amazing bud for a great price.

Plus the dispensary, Kind Meds, is one of my new favorites. They have a very chill smoking lounge with clean bongs, skillets for concentrates, and they also have a vaporizer. If you get a chance definitely check this place out. –blairfourtwenty

Looks: Tight but fluffy, shimmering dark green balls with a mass of fuzzy orange hairs.

Smell: Quintessential Kush; piney, sweet, and pungent.

Taste: Light and airy version of most Kush strains.

Buzz Type: Extra clean! Smooth, full-body warmth that hits immediately but with a mellow impact; no paranoia here. It is almost transcendental. Great for artists and musicians. I blazed a tiny nug and next thing I know, I’d been playing guitars at Guitar Center for over three hours.

Buzz Length: Long. 2+ hours.

Overall: Los Angeles is effectively a cornucopia of exclusive and expensive bud strains, with new stuff coming to market like clockwork! The latest of these offerings and one which is still in such small supply it has managed to stay off the radar for months, is Obama.

An OG Kush derived plant, like the name implies, this bud represents a real change in style for California growers and, although it lacks the knock-your-d*&k-in-the-dirt stone of Fire OG or Swiss Cheese, Obama proves there is hope for those of us who refuse to smoke anything but the very, very best life has to offer: taste-wise, smell-wise, and high-wise!

The price is a bit ridiculous; the same way Luke Skywalker was overpriced for a while. I can only afford to buy it by the gram and the supply is so limited – the stuff is so exclusive – that they refuse to sell more than one eighth per patient!
