Looks:  Like any other typical medical dissolve strip.   These were about an inch long, green in color.  Texture is like a fruit roll-up.

Smell:  N/A

Taste:  This has some serious concentration of THC … very strong.  It’s like chewing on a piece of hash.  The taste stays with you for a long time.  Well over an hour I had this strong "organic" taste in my mouth.  

Not the best tasting edible … in fact it’s so strong many may find the taste straight up nasty.

Buzz Stats:  Prior smoke was the night before (a bowl of Emerald Buddha indica) about 12 hours prior which gave me a good night’s sleep.  Had nothing during the morning (no solid food) and I did a 5K jog.  Stomach was empty and I took ONE STRIP at approximately 12:30pm.

Buzz Journey:  It’s Thanksgiving!  With that, I figured this would be the best day to try out a Med-Strip since I have family around and I do not have the means to smoke.  Also, I knew my stomach would be empty since I was not eating Thanksgiving dinner until many hours later.  

So, after my jog, I discreetly put one right on my tongue and jumped in the shower.  Within minutes, I was like "FCUK!"  I can tell I was getting hit with a head buzz and man… here comes the body tingle.  About half hour in I felt like I just took a very good bowl hit of some good Sativa.  I was feeling not good but DAMN GOOD.  

I have a cool body buzz going on that is gradually increasing in intensity.  Everything tapered off about a hour and for the next few hours my buzz stayed at a consistent level.  About 3 hours in, the wear off started and my buzz gradually lowered leaving a bit of a heavy feeling behind my eyes.  Around 4:30pm, everything wore off.

Overall:  FINALLY, a Sativa "edible" in Southern California that actually worked for me.  What’s so cool about these Med-Strips is that they are so discreet and small.   Aside from sticker on the package (which I’d just take off if traveling), nobody would even think this is a MMJ product. 

In fact, this is the exact kind of edible anyone with a high tolerance should try, especially if traveling.   I was told many patients take these with them on planes, cruises, etc. with no issues because they are so discreet.  Also, if one strip is too much medicine you can cut them up.  The bud tender told me a lady who travels often buys a few packages and cuts each strip up into 8 tiny strips and that 1/8th of the dose stops her migraines.  These Med-Strips are no joke. 

This is definitely a med I will purchase again and keep a pack on hand for those times where I want to medicate but cannot smoke.   I prefer these strips over more traditional edibles (brownies, etc) too and one thing is very certain… I will NEVER buy a lollipop again.

Follow Up:  The strips were stuck to each other and the packaging.  They were a bit difficult to take out which is my only gripe but, the work in getting them out is worth it. 

Also, this was my first visit to SCPC and as a collective, I was quite impressed.  SCPC has a ton of edibles.  Since I had so much luck with this Sativa based strip, I’ll take a shot a try one of their Indica based edibles soon.  –IE420Patient

Looks: Like a tiny frosted brownie.  Dark chocolate brownie with lighter colored frosting.

Smell: When I opened it I smelled chocolate and green butter instantly.  A little hint of coffee, maple, and molasses.

Keep in mind I have no idea what the ingredients are and every nose is a little different, but that is what I smelled.

Taste: Like a brownie made with green butter crossed with one of those maple bars you get at the donut shop.  Sweet and Yummy!!!

Buzz Type: Immediate.  I was feeling it before I finished my second tiny bite.  It is a real body high.

I felt like I had super senses: sight, smell, hearing, taste were all enhanced, but at the same time I was sitting perfectly still almost as if I couldn’t move!

I know I only gave this a B+ but I have had edibles that are way more intense, almost psychedelic. I will reserve the A’s and A+’s for something a little stronger. I know they are out there!

Buzz Length: Very long.  I’d say 3 hours with no crash at the end.

Overall: Most people might pass this one up just because it is so tiny but don’t let the size fool you.  It is what they would call in boxing a contender for "pound for pound champion".

I would say if you enjoy that crazy body high that a lot of edibles can give you, and you can find them then give them a try.  I would save this edible for a time when you don’t have much else to do!  –SantaCruzMts

Looks: Like a piece of homemade rocky road confection.

Smell: When I unwrapped this thing it was all about the smell of chocolate – dark, rich, sweet chocolate.  I smelled a little marshmallow smell and a very, very tiny amount of the green butter.

Taste: It tasted wonderful.  It was a sweet chocolate marshmallow walnut treat that melted in my mouth.  It had the very slightest taste of green butter while eating it but none of that really green aftertaste.

Buzz Type: Mellow body and head high.  Not very strong.  I could have done a rip off of the old bong before I ate the little treat and I would have been better off.

Buzz Length: Medium.  1 1/2 hours.

Overall: I would say I really enjoyed the Canna Roll while eating it much as I would the rocky road confections my grandma makes at x-mas time. 

Having said that, it really didn’t get me that high.  Maybe it’s one of those things where you have to eat a couple or something.  But at $7 each I don’t think I could afford enough to do the trick. 

I believe that most of these edibles such as cookies, brownies and confections are made using green butter.  I do know from experience that green butter – when I have made it at home – sometimes separates and the clear stuff on the bottom is super strong, while the more cloudy stuff on the top is not as strong.  I always mix it before using it in any recipe. 

I am sure whoever is making edibles and selling them through a dispensary would know that, and would make sure their butter is well mixed before making a batch of any edible. Maybe it was just a weak batch. I will give them one more try someday just to be fair. It was really tasty.  –SantaCruzMts

Hmm,  its been a while, but I have the opposite understanding.  I thought when the butter and water separated during the hardening process the butter on top was the more potent.  Thoughts?  –Mrs. Chubbs

Name: I Can’t Believe It’s Pot Butter Brownie

Looks: Like a squared off piece of very moist Duncan Hines cakes that my Aunt used to make.  The size was larger than most average brownies I have seen.  The brownie is vacuum sealed.

Taste: This was so moist!  With most edibles, you can detect that distinct cannabis taste and with this brownie that taste was very, very faint, probably undetectable to most.   The brownie itself was quite rich – sticks to your mouth.   The chocolate icing with white swirl would make any sweet tooth smile with joy.  An excellent tasting cannabis-based edible.

Buzz Stats: Consumed entire brownie at 12:50p during a sunny afternoon on an empty stomach.  Prior smoke was appx 12 hours earlier.   The brownie was my first intake of the day.   It was purchased 4 days earlier and stored in the refrigerator.  The brownie sat out at room temperature for about 3 hours prior to consuming.

Buzz Journey: Knowing the effects of edibles are not immediate, I consumed my brownie while returning home from conducting some morning errands.  I’ve bought edibles before and given my history, it made sense for me to consume the entire piece (most might want to only consume half at first).  I get home and started to do some things around the house and realized an hour has gone by and I really did not feel medicated.  So I pulled out my bong then said to myself … “clean it.”  As I am cleaning my bong, it finally hit me.

I am about an hour and 15 post-ingestion now.  I start to feel hella mellow.  The back of my eyes get heavy but I don’t get Chinese eyes.  Indo qualities overtake my body.  I am like … “damn, this one hella creeped up on me” … the creep was frustratingly slow but, hit hella hard.  At this time I am so glad I did not fire up my bong and get some smoke on.  When eating this, I did not want anything else to interfere so I can really judge the effects of this edible.

It’s about 3:45p and I am beyond baked.  I am watching the football games with KLOS in the background.  KLOS (So-Cal Classic Rock radio station) is jamming Led Zeppelin and then Rush.  I am like, “damn!”  Rush never sounded so good!  I got so into the music I tuned out the football games.  About 4:30p my body began to tingle from head to toe.  I felt alert but now with some serious red Chinese eyes.  That tingle was short lived as my head went heavy shy of 5pm and I started to get hella mellow again where my focus was back on the football games.

Around 6pm I felt pretty much back to normal with just a little heaviness behind the eyes.  So this one full brownie on an empty stomach with no other form of medication during the day was about a 5 hour run.  The journey was like a traditional bell curve.  The first hour the body was absorbing the medicine … hours 2-3-4 were the peak medication times … hour 5 was wind down.  The dominant effects were more Indo-like vs. Sativa.  At no time did I feel couch-locked but I felt best for that 30 minute or so run from 4:30p-5p when I had a body tingle.

Some Tips: Edibles are way different than flowers.   Since edibles are usually one dose (unless you buy lots), write your review “real time.”  In order for an edible to really take charge, the edible has to have more THC vs. what you body currently has.  This is why I consumed my brownie as my first “meal” of the day on an empty stomach after a good sleep.  Actually, it may be best if you don’t smoke for a full day (or two/three) before having an edible.  Have lots of time to chill.  As you can see, you can have a good 3+ hour run on top of the hour or so it takes to ramp the medicine up in your body and the additional hour when your “buzz” wears down.  Opportunity knocked at the last minute (on my own with no family ALL day), so I had to take advantage, although I did not plan to consume my edible today.

Store your edibles in the fridge!  Your collective should have them stored in a cooler/refrigerator too.  When ready to consume, take out of the fridge and bring to room temperature unless directed otherwise by the packaging.

Overall: The “I Can’t Believe It’s Pot Butter Brownie” is a solid edible.  It’s by the far the best edible offered by A420 for me and I have tried many with little success (or I had to consume so much that the cost factor is not worth it – such as three lollipops during one session instead of one).  This is definitely an edible I’d purchase again.  I don’t give it an A grade only because I do feel the effects took very long to creep, especially on an empty stomach.  Also, I wish the overall buzz strength was much stronger.  When I try this again, I think I’ll will when I go dry for few days.  Giving the body a THC ingestion break for a few days might the be ticket in giving this brownie a “A” grade.  Also for record, I am a pretty big and muscular guy so edibles are “harder” to work on me.  That being said, this brownie might fit most of you very well.  -IE420Patient

Looks: Like a normal piece of candy.

Smell: Like a grape sucker that was sitting next to a bag of green bud.

Taste: At first it tastes like a grape Jolly Rancher but after a while you start to taste the herb and it gets pretty bitter.

Buzz Type: None. I mean, for me there was none because for whatever reason, edibles do not get me high no matter how strong they are.

Buzz Length: None.

Overall: I am guessing these things work otherwise you probably would not see them for sale in so many dispensaries. Unfortunately for me, even though I rarely partake, my edible tolerance is off the charts high and I did not feel a thing.

Buzz Report: As I mentioned before, I did not get high after eating this Grape Lollipop. If there is a member out there that has access to these, please give em a try and let me know what you think. I’ll bump the review to the top of the queue for sure.  –Chubbs

Buzz Length: Almost non-existent. After a 2-3 hour wait you feel the zing for about 5-10 seconds.

Overall: Complete waste of money. I am not sure if it is because I have a very high tolerance or if the pills are just weak but they really did not work.

Buzz Report: I should of opened up a pill and photographed the hash inside but I was too worried that I would tear the pill casing and I’d have one less pill to take. Turns out it really would not have mattered.  –Chubbs

Buzz Length: Long. Very long if you include the great nap I took.

Overall: I am not sure I’d buy these just because I like more of a traditional head buzz. But they definitely work and taste fantastic.

Buzz Report: After eating 2 of the 3 cookies that came in the package I sat back and waited. Took about 45 minutes to kick in but once it did I was feeling great. I call it more of a body buzz because after about 3 hours I ended up having no energy and fell asleep.  –Chubbs

So the story behind how I found The Farmacy is a good one. A while back I decided to go on a drive and hit 5 medical marijuana dispensaries. I had already been to The Valley and was going to make 1 stop in W. Hollywood at Alternative Herbal Health Services (A.H.H.S.) then move on. After having been to A.H.H.S. I was across the street taking a picture of it when I caught a whiff of some good green bud. At first I thought it was coming from A.H.H.S. which was across Santa Monica Blvd, a very wide four lane highway.

Took me a minute but I realized there could be no way I was smelling the bud from across the street so I turn around and BAM! I was standing directly in front of The Farmacy. So of course I decided to go in and see what they had going on.

WOW! The Farmacy is by far the most professional medical marijuana dispensary I have been to yet. Upon walking in you are greeted by 1 of 2 very friendly guys (friendly guys in W. Hollywood, go figure!) who is sitting behind a desk. Each of the guys have 2 Apple computers and there is a monitor that is hooked up to a camera overlooking the medicine area in the back. The lobby is pretty big with an ATM and some chairs to sit and wait if the guys behind the desk are busy. There was a security guard standing at the entrance to the medicine room that watched over everything.

I sat at the desk in front of one of the guys and started the process. Like I said he was very cool. Took my recommendation and started the verification process. While he was looking me up, I realized I forgot to feed the parking meter and panicked! Luckily they not only had a change dish for me to grab from, they also validate parking tickets for the lot behind them. Had I known that I would have not parked on the street. Either way, parking is a breeze.

By the time I ran back across the street, dude already had me all set. But instead of me going right back to the medicine room, he sat me down and proceeded to school me in the ways of medical marijuana and how they operate at The Farmacy. After about 5 minutes I was good to go. Before heading into the back, you are handed a raffle ticket to use at the entrance which you then hand to the security guard about 2 feet away. It was a little odd.

So after getting by guard #1, I walked into the medicine room and guard #2 immediately asked me to please have a seat and as soon as one of the employees was done with their current customer, I could step up. While I was sitting and waiting, another guy walked in and went straight to the concentrates table. A big no-no. Security guard #2 rushed him and asked him to have a seat.

       Mr. Nice                                                                                               Sour Diesel

The marijuana selection at The Farmacy is top notch. Everything they sell is grown organically and that is something that they take a lot of pride in. I went with a gram of Mr. Nice and Sour Diesel each for $20 (With my first timer 25% discount I paid $15/each). They had bud that was both cheaper and more expensive. I remember seeing some Sensi Star that I wanted to try but I had spent too much money earlier in the day at Delta 9 and was broke. In addition to great bud, The Farmacy has some killer concentrates starting at $20 and going all the way up to $75. From full melt hash to frozen trichomes, they got it. And their selection of edibles is as good as everything else. My free gift was a grape sucker that was AWESOME!

Overall I’d say this is one of the best medical marijuana dispensaries in Southern California. They really take pride in their work and in the products they are selling. The Farmacy is definitely a place I’ll be frequenting in the very near future.  –Chubbs
