Grade: B

Type: Edible

Price: $5/ea

Looks: Cookie was in good packaging. Looks like a large Pepperidge Farm cookie.

Taste: Like a "premium" cookie; meaning, like Pepperidge Farm/Mrs. Fields (vs. your standard "kid" cookies). Although I don’t think refrigeration is required, mine was in the fridge for two days before I ate it. The outside has a slight crunch but, the majority of the cookie was really soft. You do have that slight distinct marijuana taste as with most edibles but the white chocolate chips masks that flavor pretty good.

Buzz Type: Ate around 9:30am after an intense morning gym workout. Only thing in my stomach is water, whey protein, creatine along with nitric oxide (basically pre/post workout stuff). This cookie is the first "solid" food item I consumed for the day.

This cookie definitely has more Indica qualities vs. Sativa. About 15 minutes into consuming, I felt a heaviness on my body. Felt a little heaviness behind the eyes but, much of the aches and pains I’ve had from my workout are now about gone or at least manageable where I am not bothered.

I did have good focus and in fact I was able to conduct my daily routine thus, a bit of Sativa-ness there. The body buzz was very "light" but, also very "even."

Buzz Length: Long. The body buzz lasted for about two hours with my pain being "managed" for a few hours longer after the body buzz ended.

Overall: With my medicine cabinet almost out of stock, it was nice to have this cookie on hand to keep me satisfied during the day so I had my flowers at night giving me time to refill at my collective the next day when I had I more time to make the trip from the I.E. to OC.

I’ve asked many times to collectives; "How long will these edibles last…" with no real solid answer except if you store in the fridge they will last "longer." Well, this is first edible I’ve seen with an "Expiration Date" on the package. If you take a close look at the picture, there is a "Best if used by: FEB 11" stamp on it. Personally, I like that! It takes all the guess work out of figuring out an edible’s shelf life.

Overall, this not a bad cookie for those with a high tolerance. I would put up there with the "I Can’t Believe It’s Pot Butter Brownie" which I reviewed some time back but, comparing the two, these cookies might provide better relief vs. the brownie if you have high tolerance and ate two. Two cookies will put you at $10-12 vs. $15 for one brownie. So, if in the mood for an edible and you come across these, I say they are worth a try.

The reason why I got this cookie was because after my bill, I had $5 in change coming back. I glanced over at the edible section thinking of getting a lollipop (NOOOOO! Stay away from the terrible lollipops!) or something for the drive home when the bud tender said … hey if you want spend the $5, get one of those cookies and the chocolate one is good if it’s there (I got the last one). They normally sell for $6 but, he gave it to me for $5.

I know for me, once in a while it’s nice to have non-flowers around for those times I cannot smoke/vape or when my flower supply is about gone and can’t immediately refill. Other flavors I remember were Snickerdoodle (Sugar) and Peanut Butter. –IE420Patient

Looks: Looks just like thin honey with small particles in it.

Smell: Very sweet, like regular honey.

Taste: It’s supposed to be Blue Agave flavored, but I honestly don’t taste anything other than very VERY sweet honey. Mix this if you don’t have a sweet tooth.

Buzz Type: Heavy, but clear headed.

Buzz Length: Long – Very Long. 4+ hours.

Overall: Not as strong as I would have liked. Took half of the bottle overall, might try a higher dose sometime. Great painkilling qualities, but didn’t put me to sleep. That could be a bad thing or a good thing depending on what you’re looking for.

Buzz Report: I was told that this bottle would last about 3-4 doses, so I started off with about 1/4 of it in my tea. The onset was quicker and more noticeable than most edibles I’ve tried, but it topped out quick and I was left feeling like it wasn’t as strong as it should be.

I brewed up another cup of tea and put in another 1/4th of the bottle, and that left me feeling very nice. Knee pain nearly disappeared, tension faded away and I was feeling very content. I’ll definitely try this again with a stronger dose, I think about two thirds of the bottle should be enough for a nice experience. –Ghost Guy

Looks: Incredibly appetizing, especially when it’s your first piece of food of the day at 2:30!

Smell: Like a Ganja green Rice Crispy treat!

Taste: Many people don’t like the cannabis taste at all, but I absolutely love it! That’s why I have an edible in the first place! The taste is totally skunky! But in such a satisfying way! Those who don’t enjoy the ganja taste may not like the taste of these too much.

Buzz Type: A mellowing body buzz that keeps you at ease as long as it lasts. A SUPER edible would have some nice simultaneous visual/ body trips as well; not the case this time unfortunately, but it’s ALL GOOD.

Buzz Length: To me a good edible will keep a consistent (not necessarily overpowering, which is also always welcomed!) buzz from the point of realizing it has kicked in, till I go to bed. That effect has been achieved. That doesn’t mean you’ll get the same effects.

Overall: This company, and specifically this edible, have really raised the bar of what is acceptable in the world of edibles! From the label, to the taste and potency, I’m really impressed. It would have been really nice to have some trippy body and visual effects, but it got me stoned, and that’s the key factor. It worked. –Merkaba

Type: Concentrate/Edible

Price: $20 for 4 – 244mg (WHITE CAPS), and $40 for 8 – 622mg (RED CAPS) -> also $15 for 3 – 622mg

Looks: Like a gel/liquid cap pill.

Taste/Smell: It’s a pill so, there is no taste but, the smell is quite strong when you open up the container. Smells like a very strong edible chocolate brownie.

Buzz Length: Long, 4+ hours. I took these pills at various times to really judge the overall effectiveness.

Buzz Journey: I first tried one White Cap while up in SF Bay. It was around shy of 8pm. During the day I did not eat much. About an hour in I did not feel anything. If fact, I was contemplating lighting a joint of Purple Kush I got at the same time. But, about hour and a half in is when this cap kicked in. I was laughing at everything for about half hour… like a minor case of the "giggles". This was followed by a sense of flotation. I became very mellow and my surroundings were enjoyable.

Back home in So-Cal, I took one Red Cap. The Red Cap "hit" me NO harder than the White Cap. The only difference is the Red Cap is large and may be hard to swallow for some. Effects took about the same amount of time to kick in – about an hour and half.

Recently (during the final SD Chargers season game), I took two caps. I took the larger Red Cap first, followed by the taking the White Cap about 45 minutes later. What I can say is this… I been to a few pro football games and watching this game at Qualcomm was an experience. By taking two caps, the effects were stronger. I hate comparing to other drugs (legal or illegal) but, I felt like I was on Shrooms during most of the game. It’s the only way I can describe it. The caps made me "good" for the entire game plus an hour before kickoff!

Overall: My quest for non-flower medicine is finally turning up some keepers although consistency seems to be issue. You’d think a 622mg cap would hit ~3x as harder as the 244mg cap. In fact, this is why I wanted to have both on the same review. When I first inquired, I was told by the budtender that the 244mg White Caps are the best. I did not even bother to ask if there were others.

When I back a few days later, I was going with the intent to buy more White Caps when the bud-tender said, "White? Sure you don’t want Red?" Then I said well, I was told the White Caps were the best. Then another budtender came over and said there is a "controversy" about which one is better. They also have another cap that is between 244mg and 622mg. I want to say it’s 400-something mg (color I don’t remember, maybe Yellow).

Well, as you can see for me, when taking just one, the higher dosage Red Cap did me no better than the lower dosage White Cap. Price wise, the Red Caps are only more expensive per unit if you buy 3. Otherwise, there is no difference in unit price between the White and Red caps. So, overall I’d lean towards to the smaller dosage White Cap… less concentrated medicine with same effect (better for digestion as these can mess with your stomach) and smaller pill size. Regardless of size, taking one cap was not bad but, taking two is what really made me enjoy these. I was able to watch an entire game without complaining about my ailments and the euphoric feeling just made my environment that much better.

My only complaint is I wish I would have bought more. A while back I posted on the Forums site that you can travel out of Oakland International with your meds if a MMJ patient. I confirmed this with Harborside and I basically told myself, "Just Do It!" So, I had two cap containers (shown in the pictures) in my laptop carry on bag. I went through TSA, my bag went through X-Ray, I got my bag and walked by THREE Alameda County Sheriff Officers and went to my boarding gate. SUCCESS although I felt like a smuggling drug dealer! LOL

If you have access to Harborside in Oakland and need a potent alternative to flowers, I do recommend these Caps.

Buzz Report: I’ve been "dry" for the past 4 days since I was out of town as well as out flowers. I still had a few "caps" of each size left over from my December 2009 purchase. Needing to medicate, I dropped a 622 mg "Red Cap."

HEADBANGER WARNING ALERT! I don’t know if it was because I did not medicate for 4 days, the caps were 3 months old (although sealed in their jars and was told they would keep "forever"), a combination of both, or whatever…but, that cap made me feel like shit! This was a totally different "experience".

I just got back home from Vegas and took this around 4:30pm. Everything started off similar as prior uses…about an hour and a half in I felt pretty good with a good buzz going on. About two hours in I had a really good head buzz. This is when I felt "best". No pain and slightly euphoric. I had dinner and about 3 – 3.5 hours in, everything went south. My head felt as if someone was slamming a hammer against it then, only to stop with the feeling as if someone was squeezing the hell out it. It felt like my ears were sporadically "closing up". Noise was amplified. At one point I went to the sink as I felt I was going to throw up. My vision was fuzzy and all over the place on top of feeling dizzy. This went on for several hours.

The only way to "chill" myself was to sit down, close my eyes and put my head down. This made me doze off and nap a few times. Now, I took this around 4:30pm. Not until 1am was able to get myself to bed and I was still "messed up".

Good news is woke up at 7am the next day feeling great! But still, that was one ride I would rather forget. Anyone want my extra caps? LOL…just kidding.

In the end, I think it should be fair to give WARNING…DON’T TAKE IF YOUR TOLERANCE IS NOT HIGH AND/OR HAVE BEEN DRY FOR SEVERAL DAYS… –IE420Patient

Finally – an edible that sounds like a winner!!! This is an older review from Thanksgiving…seems like IE420Patient chose the right event for this medicine.

Looks: Like any other typical medical dissolve strip. These were about an inch long, green in color. Texture is like a fruit roll-up.

Smell: N/A

Taste: This has some serious concentration of THC … very strong. It’s like chewing on a piece of hash. The taste stays with you for a long time. Well over an hour I had this strong "organic" taste in my mouth.

Not the best tasting edible … in fact it’s so strong many may find the taste straight up nasty.

Buzz Stats: Prior smoke was the night before (a bowl of Emerald Buddha indica) about 12 hours prior which gave me a good night’s sleep. Had nothing during the morning (no solid food) and I did a 5K jog. Stomach was empty and I took ONE STRIP at approximately 12:30pm.

Buzz Journey: It’s Thanksgiving! With that, I figured this would be the best day to try out a Med-Strip since I have family around and I do not have the means to smoke. Also, I knew my stomach would be empty since I was not eating Thanksgiving dinner until many hours later.

So, after my jog, I discreetly put one right on my tongue and jumped in the shower. Within minutes, I was like "FCUK!" I can tell I was getting hit with a head buzz and man… here comes the body tingle. About half hour in I felt like I just took a very good bowl hit of some good Sativa. I was feeling not good but DAMN GOOD.

I have a cool body buzz going on that is gradually increasing in intensity. Everything tapered off about a hour and for the next few hours my buzz stayed at a consistent level. About 3 hours in, the wear off started and my buzz gradually lowered leaving a bit of a heavy feeling behind my eyes. Around 4:30pm, everything wore off.

Overall: FINALLY, a Sativa "edible" in Southern California that actually worked for me. What’s so cool about these Med-Strips is that they are so discreet and small. Aside from sticker on the package (which I’d just take off if traveling), nobody would even think this is a MMJ product.

In fact, this is the exact kind of edible anyone with a high tolerance should try, especially if traveling. I was told many patients take these with them on planes, cruises, etc. with no issues because they are so discreet. Also, if one strip is too much medicine you can cut them up. The bud tender told me a lady who travels often buys a few packages and cuts each strip up into 8 tiny strips and that 1/8th of the dose stops her migraines. These Med-Strips are no joke.

This is definitely a med I will purchase again and keep a pack on hand for those times where I want to medicate but cannot smoke. I prefer these strips over more traditional edibles (brownies, etc) too and one thing is very certain… I will NEVER buy a lollipop again.

Follow Up: The strips were stuck to each other and the packaging. They were a bit difficult to take out which is my only gripe but, the work in getting them out is worth it.

Also, this was my first visit to SCPC and as a collective, I was quite impressed. SCPC has a ton of edibles. Since I had so much luck with this Sativa based strip, I’ll take a shot a try one of their Indica based edibles soon. –IE420Patient

Looks: Like a tiny frosted brownie. Dark chocolate brownie with lighter colored frosting.

Smell: When I opened it I smelled chocolate and green butter instantly. A little hint of coffee, maple, and molasses.

Keep in mind I have no idea what the ingredients are and every nose is a little different, but that is what I smelled.

Taste: Like a brownie made with green butter crossed with one of those maple bars you get at the donut shop. Sweet and Yummy!!!

Buzz Type: Immediate. I was feeling it before I finished my second tiny bite. It is a real body high.

I felt like I had super senses: sight, smell, hearing, taste were all enhanced, but at the same time I was sitting perfectly still almost as if I couldn’t move!

I know I only gave this a B+ but I have had edibles that are way more intense, almost psychedelic. I will reserve the A’s and A+’s for something a little stronger. I know they are out there!

Buzz Length: Very long. I’d say 3 hours with no crash at the end.

Overall: Most people might pass this one up just because it is so tiny but don’t let the size fool you. It is what they would call in boxing a contender for "pound for pound champion".

I would say if you enjoy that crazy body high that a lot of edibles can give you, and you can find them then give them a try. I would save this edible for a time when you don’t have much else to do! –SantaCruzMts

Looks: Like a piece of homemade rocky road confection.

Smell: When I unwrapped this thing it was all about the smell of chocolate – dark, rich, sweet chocolate. I smelled a little marshmallow smell and a very, very tiny amount of the green butter.

Taste: It tasted wonderful. It was a sweet chocolate marshmallow walnut treat that melted in my mouth. It had the very slightest taste of green butter while eating it but none of that really green aftertaste.

Buzz Type: Mellow body and head high. Not very strong. I could have done a rip off of the old bong before I ate the little treat and I would have been better off.

Buzz Length: Medium. 1 1/2 hours.

Overall: I would say I really enjoyed the Canna Roll while eating it much as I would the rocky road confections my grandma makes at x-mas time.

Having said that, it really didn’t get me that high. Maybe it’s one of those things where you have to eat a couple or something. But at $7 each I don’t think I could afford enough to do the trick.

I believe that most of these edibles such as cookies, brownies and confections are made using green butter. I do know from experience that green butter – when I have made it at home – sometimes separates and the clear stuff on the bottom is super strong, while the more cloudy stuff on the top is not as strong. I always mix it before using it in any recipe.

I am sure whoever is making edibles and selling them through a dispensary would know that, and would make sure their butter is well mixed before making a batch of any edible. Maybe it was just a weak batch. I will give them one more try someday just to be fair. It was really tasty. –SantaCruzMts

Hmm, its been a while, but I have the opposite understanding. I thought when the butter and water separated during the hardening process the butter on top was the more potent. Thoughts? –Mrs. Chubbs

Looks: Like a squared off piece of very moist Duncan Hines cakes that my Aunt used to make. The size was larger than most average brownies I have seen. The brownie is vacuum sealed.

Taste: This was so moist! With most edibles, you can detect that distinct cannabis taste and with this brownie that taste was very, very faint, probably undetectable to most. The brownie itself was quite rich – sticks to your mouth. The chocolate icing with white swirl would make any sweet tooth smile with joy. An excellent tasting cannabis-based edible.

Buzz Stats: Consumed entire brownie at 12:50p during a sunny afternoon on an empty stomach. Prior smoke was appx 12 hours earlier. The brownie was my first intake of the day. It was purchased 4 days earlier and stored in the refrigerator. The brownie sat out at room temperature for about 3 hours prior to consuming.

Buzz Journey: Knowing the effects of edibles are not immediate, I consumed my brownie while returning home from conducting some morning errands. I’ve bought edibles before and given my history, it made sense for me to consume the entire piece (most might want to only consume half at first). I get home and started to do some things around the house and realized an hour has gone by and I really did not feel medicated. So I pulled out my bong then said to myself … “clean it.” As I am cleaning my bong, it finally hit me.

I am about an hour and 15 post-ingestion now. I start to feel hella mellow. The back of my eyes get heavy but I don’t get Chinese eyes. Indo qualities overtake my body. I am like … “damn, this one hella creeped up on me” … the creep was frustratingly slow but, hit hella hard. At this time I am so glad I did not fire up my bong and get some smoke on. When eating this, I did not want anything else to interfere so I can really judge the effects of this edible.

It’s about 3:45p and I am beyond baked. I am watching the football games with KLOS in the background. KLOS (So-Cal Classic Rock radio station) is jamming Led Zeppelin and then Rush. I am like, “damn!” Rush never sounded so good! I got so into the music I tuned out the football games. About 4:30p my body began to tingle from head to toe. I felt alert but now with some serious red Chinese eyes. That tingle was short lived as my head went heavy shy of 5pm and I started to get hella mellow again where my focus was back on the football games.

Around 6pm I felt pretty much back to normal with just a little heaviness behind the eyes. So this one full brownie on an empty stomach with no other form of medication during the day was about a 5 hour run. The journey was like a traditional bell curve. The first hour the body was absorbing the medicine … hours 2-3-4 were the peak medication times … hour 5 was wind down. The dominant effects were more Indo-like vs. Sativa. At no time did I feel couch-locked but I felt best for that 30 minute or so run from 4:30p-5p when I had a body tingle.

Some Tips: Edibles are way different than flowers. Since edibles are usually one dose (unless you buy lots), write your review “real time.” In order for an edible to really take charge, the edible has to have more THC vs. what you body currently has. This is why I consumed my brownie as my first “meal” of the day on an empty stomach after a good sleep. Actually, it may be best if you don’t smoke for a full day (or two/three) before having an edible. Have lots of time to chill. As you can see, you can have a good 3+ hour run on top of the hour or so it takes to ramp the medicine up in your body and the additional hour when your “buzz” wears down. Opportunity knocked at the last minute (on my own with no family ALL day), so I had to take advantage, although I did not plan to consume my edible today.

Store your edibles in the fridge! Your collective should have them stored in a cooler/refrigerator too. When ready to consume, take out of the fridge and bring to room temperature unless directed otherwise by the packaging.

Overall: The “I Can’t Believe It’s Pot Butter Brownie” is a solid edible. It’s by the far the best edible offered by A420 for me and I have tried many with little success (or I had to consume so much that the cost factor is not worth it – such as three lollipops during one session instead of one). This is definitely an edible I’d purchase again. I don’t give it an A grade only because I do feel the effects took very long to creep, especially on an empty stomach. Also, I wish the overall buzz strength was much stronger. When I try this again, I think I’ll will when I go dry for few days. Giving the body a THC ingestion break for a few days might the be ticket in giving this brownie a “A” grade. Also for record, I am a pretty big and muscular guy so edibles are “harder” to work on me. That being said, this brownie might fit most of you very well. -IE420Patient
