Well in the few short months that we have been open we have taken over as the best medical marijuana dispensary/collective in San Diego according to the people.

A while back I had the idea of starting a medical marijuana delivery service in Orange County California called NUGGETRY.

After a great deal of planning, some serious blood, sweat and tears as well as a little luck, NUGGETRY took off and very quickly the name became synonymous with KILLER bud.

Right about the time I was planning on expanding the NUGGETRY delivery service in Orange County my friend Nuggs (F.K.A. MJBoy) from HydroCanna.com contacted me with an idea he had for a storefront collective in San Diego.

I won’t bore you with all the legal details and the red tape we had to deal with/hash out, but to make a long story short he and I sat down and in 1 afternoon I decided to temporarily stop deliveries in Orange County and NUGGETRY SD was born.

What he and I have created is hands down the most popular and fastest growing medical marijuana dispensary (legally we are a collective) in San Diego.

Located just minutes from San Diego State University in E. San Diego (on University Ave, just east of College St.), NUGGETRY SD has set the bar, and set it sky high (no pun).

We can be a little hard to find on your first visit as the building we are in used to be a house at one time back in the day. It was then converted into a doctor’s office and then a real estate office.

Parking is a breeze with a spot right out front on the street available most of the time.

So from the front all you really see is a cool looking white house with a yard and a sign in front that reads “Tri Palms Properties” (there are 3 palm trees out front). We had thought about painting the front or adding a new sign but decided against it. Once you find us that 1st time, trust me you won’t ever have a problem again.

Walking up to the front door the first thing you can’t help but notice is there are cameras everywhere. We spared no expense when it came to security and put cameras up all over that even record audio.

You can’t get anywhere near NUGGETRY SD without us seeing/hearing you coming.

Once at the front door there is a little doorbell you ring and viola, you are immediately greeted by one of the 3 girls we have that run the front office.

Kate, Sami or Mindi will let you into our incredibly comfortable lobby which at one time was the living room of the house.

The NUGGETRY SD lobby is huge with hard wood floors, a big L-shaped desk, a bunch of chairs, a water cooler and a big fireplace that we are looking forward to using this winter.

Verification is a snap. Gone are the days of waiting forever for some uneducated receptionist to figure out how to get you verified.

We have taken the time to make sure that all 3 of our girls know the verification process inside and out. And should you be one of the small percentage of people that have a county card instead of a paper medical marijuana recommendation, that’s fine. We know our stuff.

Once verified, you are led into the bud room which is attached to the main lobby via a very secure door.

The bud room is just as nice, if not nicer than the lobby.

One of the first things that catches your eye is the giant flat screen on the wall being used as a menu board. Very clean indeed.

We had thought about going the traditional whiteboard but they tend to look a little sloppy.

Our selection of top quality meds are conveniently displayed in glass jars that we keep inside and on top of 4 foot wide glass display cases.

Nothing is pre-weighed. (Actually our hash is pre weighed just because it takes forever to weigh up)

We make sure to always have the magnifying glasses plugged in for the extra thorough patients.

As you are facing the display cases, off to your right is a metal rack with 3 shelves where we keep clones and mother plants.

The quality of our babies is just as high as the quality of our meds.

With the recent addition of Dre, we now have 2 budtenders at NUGGETRY SD.

Zango, who is what I like to call our budmaster has been with us since day 1 and knows just about all there is to know about the different strains of medical marijuana. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

While it’s not the norm, from time to time we like to treat our members to something a little special.

Recently I decided to roll up a GIANT joint. In another post I will go over the entire process but for now take a look at a couple pics of the beast.

The above fatty consisted of a bunch of Fallbrook with some Blueberry and a bunch of kief from our house grinder packed in the end we lit.

In addition to everything I have already mentioned, at NUGGETRY SD we have a couple things the I believe really set us apart from the other medical marijuana collectives in San Diego.

Every Saturday at 1:00pm we have a free medical marijuana cultivation class that has over the last few weeks become very popular.

My partner Nuggs has done an excellent job of putting together an hour long class (sometimes it runs a little longer) that is both informative and fun at the same time.

The classes are held in one of our extra rooms and usually ends with a fat session in our soon to be complete VIP vapor lounge. And by VIP I just mean people that we are comfortable with medicating on our property.

We have a great selection of glass pieces for patients to use in the vapor lounge and if you need a little help rolling a joint or cleaning a piece, just let us know and we’ll take care of you.

Oh yeah, there is an Xbox 360 hooked up to a 42″ flat screen for those gamers that want to chill for a few as well as a laptop with Wi-Fi access as well.

All-in-all I have to say, and not just because I am one of the owners that NUGGETRY SD is probably one of the best medical marijuana collectives in the state.

We not only have a safe, clean, convenient location but also have one of the kindest and most knowledgeable staffs in the industry.

Our meds are always top notch and it is VERY rare for us to have less than 10 strains available and usually have 15-25.

As far as prices, we have 1/8’s of Mango, Blueberry and L.A. Kush right now for $40 and our best Chunkle nugs will cost you $65.

For the most part the majority of our bud like the 619 NUGGETRY OG, Green Crack, Casey Jones etc. go for $60 an 1/8th.

The current version of the site is what I am calling the “beta version” and is pretty much just a place holder until my designer gets done with the final template.

Fortunately the review system that powers the site will not be changing and you all can currently surf the site and write as many reviews as you’d like.

All reviews that are posted on the beta version will be carried over to the permanent version once it is complete.

The process is simple, here’s how it works:

All you have to do is find a dispensary on the list that you have been to, click it’s name then scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Once at the bottom of the page all you have to do is fill in your name, your email address and your website (if you have one) and then write your review.

Your review can be as long and detailed or as short and concise as you’d like. All I ask is that it is honest.

After writing your review, you can then quickly rank the dispensary in 5 categories (Bud Quality, Staff, Convenience, Atmosphere, Price) by mousing over/clicking the stars in the table to the right of the review text box.

The final step is to click the “Submit Comment” button and you are done.

The entire process, depending on how long a review you write should take no more that a minute. Quick and easy.

Buzz Type: A light indica.  Mellow body buzz.

Overall: Mr. NiceGuy was somewhat nice to me during sessions.  The buzz length wasn’t too long…and the high wasn’t too strong.  Very mellow and pleasant smoke.  Good for social gatherings.  -Vaporizer

Looks: This Blackberry Kush is just beautiful.  The nugs are dark green with dark purple frosted trichomes.

Smell: Very sweet.

Taste: Just like blackberry jam.

Buzz Type: Heavy stone.

Buzz Length: 2-3 hours.

Overall: It almost feels like I’m doing everyone a disservice by smoking this.  The nugs are just so beautiful!  Right off the bat the high hits you with surprising clarity that gives way to sudden and complete stone before you even finish the first bowl.  The taste alone keeps you coming back for more of this, it really tastes that good.  – Amanda

Looks: Mid to light green with big clumps of orange hairs and moderate trichome presence.

Smell: Fresh pine, not too strong.

Taste: Typical kushy taste, smooth.

Buzz Type: What you would expect from a strong indica, hits hard.  Nice head high with good focus.

Buzz Length: Long.  2+ hours off of one wake n’ bake bong hit.

Overall: This is some top medicine.  The first thing I noticed was the clumps of orange pistils which give the buds a fuzzy appearance.  I don’t know how they rate the THC content, but 23.33% seemed about right if you consider hash is around 30% and oil around 40%.

I thought all bud was “organic” and in reality I think it is.  But the manager at my dispensary said sometimes growers will use bleach and/or other chemicals in harvesting or processing.  I don’t think it actually ends up in the product that is smoked.  I think the main point was the stress caused to the plants.  Anyway, I’m not a grower so I don’t know what he was talking about.  But this bud is certified organic meaning no bleach or chemicals used, purest water and dirt, no stress caused to the plants and extra light used in growing compared to other strains.

Buzz Report: I did a wake n’ bake with this stuff two days in a row just to make sure it was as strong as I initially thought.  The answer is “YES”!  – necros

Yes, most growers use chemicals – though I am not familiar with the use of bleach.  The last cycle of the budding process should use just pure water to flush out all additives – everything used during the growing process.  Also, I do know that a few dispensaries (not sure which, would have to ask Mr. Chubbs) send their medicine out for THC content testing.  This may be one of those dispensaries. – Mrs. Chubbs

Looks: Compact without being too tight, dense, slightly purple on the tips and frosted with trichomes.

Smell: Smells deliciously sweet and slightly earthy.

Taste: The taste is wonderful.  This medicine tastes just like pineapple Lifesavers with a hint of pepper at the end.

Buzz Type: Powerful couch lock.

Buzz Length: Long.  3-4 hours.

Overall: I usually pick up a Kush every two weeks or so for my insomnia.  It seems to be the one thing that can always deliver me to a night of sleep without fail.  This Pineapple Kush was no exception.

The high from this is instantly relaxing, delivering a strong body stone before it creeps to your head.  It delivers the uplifting qualities that I so enjoy from the Pineapple Kush while keeping you completely relaxed.

It was hard for me to do much of anything after smoking this medicine, most of my thoughts were disjointed and confused, making it hard to do anything intelligibly for hours after smoking this.  But what did it matter?  At least I was happy about it.

This strain is pretty close to perfect for me and my insomnia.  It completely stops the mind, relaxes the body and uplifts your mood while gently delivering you to a wonderful dream land – when you’re ready, of course.  – Amanda

You heard me right. NUGGETRY is coming to San Diego and we are doing it in a BIG way.

In a move that is sure to shock some industry insiders, myself and Marijuana Reviews member MJBoy, who also owns HydroCanna.com as well as a bunch of other websites have decided to pool our resources and open the first ever NUGGETRY store in sunny San Diego. Notice the NUGGETRY logo has been changed from “ORANGE COUNTY MEDICAL MARIJUANA DELIVERY” to “SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA MEDICAL MARIJUANA”.

The two of us met early this morning and hashed out a plan (no pun intended) that if you ask me is flawless.

The lease is signed and the build out has begun.

The NUGGETRY store is located in San Diego on University just east of College about 5-10 minutes away from San Diego State University. (Not giving the exact address out yet as we don’t want to get distracted while building).

We are hoping to have the doors open in 7 days but honestly, knowing me and time frames it will probably me more like 10-14 days.

Either way by the end of the month there will be a NUGGETRY store open for everyone to come and check out.

The shop itself is 1400 square feet of pure beauty.

Upon entering our spacious lobby you will be greeted by one of our incredibly hot receptionists who will make the patient intake and the verification process smooth and painless. Oh and not only will she look good, but she will know her stuff as well.

Gone are the days of walking into any collective in San Diego only to have the receptionist sweat you because she has no clue what a DHS card is.

Our “green room” will be stocked on day 1 with many of the same high quality strains our Orange County patients are use to as well as many new strains that will only be available on the NUGGETRY SD menu.

In addition we will also have one of the cleanest and most comfortable vapor lounges you will find in any collective, period.

Prices will be the same as the current prices on the NUGGETRY OC menu with the exception of a few lower end strains that will be added to the SD menu only and will go for appx. $45 and 1/8th.

Of course we will be having a launch party real soon so if you are medical, and can make it down to San Diego you are going to want to keep in touch as it will be a night to remember, if possible.

MJBoy was going to make an announcement on HydroCanna tonight as well but I think all the driving we did today did him in. Either that or the consecutive fire fatties.
