Looks: Like a normal piece of candy.

Smell: Like a grape sucker that was sitting next to a bag of green bud.

Taste: At first it tastes like a grape Jolly Rancher but after a while you start to taste the herb and it gets pretty bitter.

Buzz Type: None. I mean, for me there was none because for whatever reason, edibles do not get me high no matter how strong they are.

Buzz Length: None.

Overall: I am guessing these things work otherwise you probably would not see them for sale in so many dispensaries. Unfortunately for me, even though I rarely partake, my edible tolerance is off the charts high and I did not feel a thing.

Buzz Report: As I mentioned before, I did not get high after eating this Grape Lollipop. If there is a member out there that has access to these, please give em a try and let me know what you think. I’ll bump the review to the top of the queue for sure.  –Chubbs

First off, let me apologize for the poor picture. Of the 2 pics I took, 1 had a pole in the middle and the other had a big palm leaf. I went with the leaf. Anyway, Alternative Herbal Health Services (AHHS) is a dispensary I visited a while back and honestly just forgot to review it. So bear with me as I am trying my best to remember the experience.

Located on Santa Monica Blvd. in W. Hollywood, AHHS is one of the many dispensaries in the area that seems to operate a little more openly than most of the dispensaries that I have been to. Most shops don’t have big storefront signs that are covered in pot leaves. I think the location provides them with a bit of a false sense of security. But then again, what do I know. Parking can be difficult as you need to find a metered spot on Santa Monica Blvd.

Like many shops, AHHS has a buzzer that you push when you walk up to the door in order to be let in. Upon entering, the first thing you can’t help but notice is that you are in a steel cage. After the door to the street closes, the guy behind the desk buzzes the cage door and you are allowed into the lobby. The lobby is pretty kick back from what I remember. A mural on the wall, a flat screen TV, a few places to sit and wait while you are verified.

When I stopped by, there was a guy behind the desk and a guy sitting on the couch next to the desk. The guy behind the desk sort of introduced himself and took my i.d. and doctors recommendation. While he was doing the verification the guy on the couch, who could not take his eyes off his Blackberry, starting talking about how the other guy should of got the phone number of a female patient that had just left. I’d say the best word to describe the vibe would be unprofessional. The verification process took about 5 minutes and I was allowed to enter the medicine room.

The narrow medicine room had a glass case with some edibles in it and a decent selection of herb on top. They had appx. 10 or 12 strains of marijuana to choose from, I don’t remember if they had any concentrates.

ABOVE – 916 Kush

I went with the 916 Kush which the bud tender told me they were "known for" and the Grand Daddy Purple. After making my selections I was handed a piece of paper and a raffle ticket that I then took to the back of the medicine room and handed to a guy through a window in the wall. The paper lsited my weed selection. The guy walked around a corner and came back abut 10 seconds later with 2 bags. I did not have a chance to see if they were pre-weighed or not. I have a feeling they were.

The raffle ticket was given to me since it was my first visit. The guy behind the window had a big carnival style wheel that he spun. It landed on "free gram" and I was given a free gram of some Sweet Nightmare.

Overall I’d have to say that I was not all that impressed with Alternative Herbal Health Services. While they do have some good security, the parking is definitely not the best and the guys in the lobby were far from friendly. Their selection of top shelf bud was decent. And the 3 room system where the guy disappears and returns with your bud was a turn off. All-in-all, I’d say they earned the solid B+ that I gave them.  –Chubbs

Looks: Good. Tight nugs with a lot of orange hairs

Smell: Kind of reminded me of Sweet-n-Sour.

Taste: A little harsh. Bit of a spicy taste.

Buzz Type: Clean buzz that you feel immediately. Active.

Buzz Length: Medium. I was content with this nug but wish it would have been better.

Overall: I went into blazing this bud a little skeptical since it was not my first choice. But it turned out to be okay. A.H.H.S. had some GDP that I will be trying next time for sure though.

Buzz Report: 2 FAT rips through an 18" RooR had me pretty baked. There was really nothing special about this bud. Was really kind of glad when I finished it.  –Chubbs

Looks: Good. Smaller buds with lots of crystals.

Smell: Definitely Kush. Smells great.

Taste: Very green chronic taste. Great smoke.

Buzz Type: Immediate forehead sweat. Hard hitting.

Buzz Length: Medium. If the buzz had lasted longer, this may have been a top pick.

Overall: While A.H.H.S. is not one of my favorite dispensaries, this is some good marijuana.

Buzz Report: This was the first bud I smoked the Monday following my "All Sativa Sunday" and man did I feel it. 2 fat bowls in my glass pipe and I was craving some cereal bad. Definite munchie weed.  –Chubbs

Looks: Amazing. True example of some good purple weed.

Smell: Great. I could wear this as cologne!

Taste: Good. Has a little bit of a piney flavor. Smokes smooth.

Buzz Type: Immediate. Not as strong as I thought it was going to be.

Buzz Length: Medium. About what I had expected.

Overall: A great bud for sure. True purple leaves make it look so damn good.

Buzz Report: I got this stuff as a replacement for another strain that A.H.H.S. had ran out of. Not bad at all. Used a 2 foot tall glass RooR bong with some ice in it. Smoke went down smooth and came out smooth. 2 tokes and I was good.  –Chubbs

Looks: Good. Nothing too special

Smell: Great. Like a bouquet of flowers.

Taste: Good. Very smooth smoke. Barely made me cough.

Buzz Type: Creeper. Appx. 15-20 minutes after I thought I was done getting high, I got higher!

Buzz Length: Medium. Borderline long. Kept me going for a while.

Overall: With this being a 2nd tier strain for the The Farmacy, I cannot wait to get back up there and check out some of their top shelf bud.

Buzz Report: Sour Diesel is one that caught me off guard. There is nothing really special looking about this bud but it got me pretty damn baked! Ended up watching the movie "300" for the 3rd time. Dude absolutely kicks ass. Great movie to watched with a fat buzz.  –Chubbs

Looks: Incredible. Tight little green bugs with orange hairs and purple leaves. Very frosty.

Smell: Danky chronic smell. A little fruity.

Taste: Superb. This is some really good weed hands down.

Buzz Type: Immediate. Not as heavy as a good Kush but still damn good.

Buzz Length: Long. I was baked all afternoon after 2 fat bowls.

Overall: Mr. Nice delivers as advertised. This is an all around great weed. A top choice for sure.

Buzz Report: I loved this weed. I really hope they have more when I go back to The Farmacy. I ended up blazing a fat bowl right before I went on a 3 mile run. Was beautiful. Best run I have been on in months. When I got home, I slept like a baby. –Chubbs

So the story behind how I found The Farmacy is a good one. A while back I decided to go on a drive and hit 5 medical marijuana dispensaries. I had already been to The Valley and was going to make 1 stop in W. Hollywood at Alternative Herbal Health Services (A.H.H.S.) then move on. After having been to A.H.H.S. I was across the street taking a picture of it when I caught a whiff of some good green bud. At first I thought it was coming from A.H.H.S. which was across Santa Monica Blvd, a very wide four lane highway.

Took me a minute but I realized there could be no way I was smelling the bud from across the street so I turn around and BAM! I was standing directly in front of The Farmacy. So of course I decided to go in and see what they had going on.

WOW! The Farmacy is by far the most professional medical marijuana dispensary I have been to yet. Upon walking in you are greeted by 1 of 2 very friendly guys (friendly guys in W. Hollywood, go figure!) who is sitting behind a desk. Each of the guys have 2 Apple computers and there is a monitor that is hooked up to a camera overlooking the medicine area in the back. The lobby is pretty big with an ATM and some chairs to sit and wait if the guys behind the desk are busy. There was a security guard standing at the entrance to the medicine room that watched over everything.

I sat at the desk in front of one of the guys and started the process. Like I said he was very cool. Took my recommendation and started the verification process. While he was looking me up, I realized I forgot to feed the parking meter and panicked! Luckily they not only had a change dish for me to grab from, they also validate parking tickets for the lot behind them. Had I known that I would have not parked on the street. Either way, parking is a breeze.

By the time I ran back across the street, dude already had me all set. But instead of me going right back to the medicine room, he sat me down and proceeded to school me in the ways of medical marijuana and how they operate at The Farmacy. After about 5 minutes I was good to go. Before heading into the back, you are handed a raffle ticket to use at the entrance which you then hand to the security guard about 2 feet away. It was a little odd.

So after getting by guard #1, I walked into the medicine room and guard #2 immediately asked me to please have a seat and as soon as one of the employees was done with their current customer, I could step up. While I was sitting and waiting, another guy walked in and went straight to the concentrates table. A big no-no. Security guard #2 rushed him and asked him to have a seat.

       Mr. Nice                                                                                               Sour Diesel

The marijuana selection at The Farmacy is top notch. Everything they sell is grown organically and that is something that they take a lot of pride in. I went with a gram of Mr. Nice and Sour Diesel each for $20 (With my first timer 25% discount I paid $15/each). They had bud that was both cheaper and more expensive. I remember seeing some Sensi Star that I wanted to try but I had spent too much money earlier in the day at Delta 9 and was broke. In addition to great bud, The Farmacy has some killer concentrates starting at $20 and going all the way up to $75. From full melt hash to frozen trichomes, they got it. And their selection of edibles is as good as everything else. My free gift was a grape sucker that was AWESOME!

Overall I’d say this is one of the best medical marijuana dispensaries in Southern California. They really take pride in their work and in the products they are selling. The Farmacy is definitely a place I’ll be frequenting in the very near future.  –Chubbs
