Looks: Much greener than in the photos.  If brown sugar were a swampy green color, it would look like this.

Smell: Piney and fresh.

Taste: I always sprinkle it on top of bowls all types, so I can’t say what it tastes like on its own.  It adds a very strong, clean marijuana taste to everything.

Buzz Type: Immediate, strong body high, usually accompanied by sleepiness.

Buzz Length: Long.  Adds about an hour to the buzz you’d get from whatever you’re having it with.

Overall: They had green and brown OG Kush Kief there and the budtender told me that the green was kief harvested first (I guess the brown kief is harvested second, though she said they had the same potency).  At least I think that’s what she said.  I dunno – I’ve put this stuff on a lot of bowls.  When I want to get to sleep, I just put some of this on a bowl or between some layers of leaves in the vape, and I’m out cold pretty soon thereafter.  –mundane

I know, it’s a tough job but somebody has to do it. 

Recently we got some MK Ultra pollen (very good kief) in and we decided to break a nice size chunk off of the main brick and just drop that in the bong and see what happens.

Looks: Like keif…what can I say.

Smell: Sweet, yet a bit earthy, like incense.

Taste: Feel it more on your lungs than on your tongue.  Any taste can just be described as very “clean”.

Buzz Type: Adds that extra kick to any bowl.  Very euphoric and visual, despite its origin.

Buzz Length: 2 hours.

Overall: Throw some of this on any bowl and it’s like icing on a cupcake, just make it that much better.  Nice to have around.  -ogspliff

Price: Was given a gram as a freebie for my first visit. Forgot to ask about the price.

Looks: Dangerous. Most of the kief was compacted into mini nugs which I would scoop out and dump onto my bowl.

Smell: Very spicy. Smells like some potent kief.

Taste: Almost devoid of any real taste.

Buzz Type: Strong, immediate forehead buzz that knocks you out.

Buzz Length: Short. About 1-2 Hours.

Overall: A nice addition to your bowl, not really meant to be smoked alone. The burnout is hard and I took a nap afterwards and woke up feeling pretty good. It was great that it was a freebie but is not something I would actually set out to buy. I’d rather buy some hash.  –Mervinthepersian

Ingredients: 2 parts buds, 1 part oil, 1 part kief, 1 part hash.

- True OG Kush

- Mr. Nice

- True OG Oil

- Master Kush Kief

- True OG Hash (Full Melt)

Once I have all the ingredients together I mix them up as follows:

1) Cut up the bud and add a layer of True OG Kush to the bowl.

2) Cut a few small hash pieces off the main chunk and add them to the bowl.

3) Sprinkle some kief on top of the bud/hash mixture.

4) Wipe some oil onto a few small Mr. Nice buds and add them to the bowl.

Once you’ve got it all packed, all that’s left to do is add a flame and hold on! I am typing this review only minutes after having dusted this Widow Maker and let me say this, it has been the most difficult review I have ever written. Thank God for spell check.   –Chubbs

Herbal Solutions Compassionate Caregivers (HSCC) is currently my favorite dispensary. (As of 3/1/09 it’s no longer my favorite) And it’s not only because it’s the closest one to my house either. Located in a really nice section of Long Beach, HSCC has done a very good job in my opinion of putting together a friendly, safe place to shop. And their selection is fantastic. Last time I was there they had 30+ strains to choose from. Appx. 10 kinds of concentrates and a whole bunch of edibles. It’s definitely a one stop shop. Oh and the all female staff that operate the shop are pretty hot too!

HSCC can be a little difficult to find. You have to park in a parking lot that looks like it’s for the restaurant Nico’s, but it’s actually for the building that houses HSCC, which is in the back, upstairs. As you walk up the stairs and approach the door it always opens automatically courtesy of the security guard inside. He has a monitor which allows him to watch over the entire parking lot and entrance. Which is kind of cool.

Upon entering you are greeted by the guard and asked to either have a seat, or to step up to the counter. It depends on how crowded they are. The front office is more like a doctors office than any other dispensary office I have seen yet. It’s painted all white, kind of small with a couch and a couple chairs. There is a small slide window that the office manager sits behind. She took about 5 minutes to verify me.

One thing that is a little different about HSCC is that they put a little sticker on your medical marijuana recommendation that has your HSCC i.d. on it. They require you to bring an original copy of your recommendation every time you come. No one is getting into the medicine room without one.

Last time I was there a guy came in with a recommendation that had the seal/stamp ripped out. He got denied.

      Blackberry Kush                                                                              Master Kush Kief

The medical marijuana available from Herbal Solutions Compassionate Caregivers is great. Every time I go they not only have at least 25 strains to choose from, but they always seem to have something new on the menu. So far I have tried their Blackberry Kush, Orgasmic OG Kush, Bob Marley’s Lamb’s Bread, Blue Dream, White Widow, Banana x True OG, Master Kush Kief and a couple kinds of hash. Last time I was there I almost got some Grand Daddy Purple but did not have enough money on me. Grams go for around $20-35 and 1/8ths go for $30-$75. Quantity discounts are available for most strains.

First timers receive a free gram and as far as specials go, on Sunday everyone gets a free gram. On wednesday you get a free 1/8th with the purchase of a $420+ ounce. Every other day you get a free joint.

I really like this dispensary. They have some really great hash to choose from like the ones I have tried, Platinum Grape Ape and True OG. Both are full melts and both tore me up. HSCC is a quality shop with quality products run but some really cool people. I highly recommend you check them out. And don’t forget to tell them Marijuana Reviews sent you.   –Chubbs

Looks: Intimidating. Not many people are use to seeing a vial of green powder.

Smell: A bit like Hash. In the same family

Taste: It’s so subtle that I can barely taste it. Then again I have been mixing it with some pretty strong marijuana.

Buzz Type: Clean. Seems to amplify the buzz of any weed.

Buzz Length: Medium. Again, it seems to just take buzz from the weed you are smoking up 1 notch in every way.

Overall: The best thing about this Kief is that it seems to last forever. I have been dumping it on bowls and here it is a week later, and I still have a bunch.

Buzz Report: Of the 5 different concentrates I have right now, the Master Kush Kief seems to be the one I am using the most. I am not sure if it is because it is so good, or because it is the easiest to work with. Either way, I like this stuff. I poured a bunch on a bowl this morning and am still pretty damn baked! So the story behind how I found The Farmacy is a good one. A while back I decided to go on a drive and hit 5 medical marijuana dispensaries. I had already been to The Valley and was going to make 1 stop in W. Hollywood at Alternative Herbal Health Services (A.H.H.S.) then move on. After having been to A.H.H.S. I was across the street taking a picture of it when I caught a whiff of some good green bud. At first I thought it was coming from A.H.H.S. which was across Santa Monica Blvd, a very wide four lane highway.

Took me a minute but I realized there could be no way I was smelling the bud from across the street so I turn around and BAM! I was standing directly in front of The Farmacy. So of course I decided to go in and see what they had going on.

WOW! The Farmacy is by far the most professional medical marijuana dispensary I have been to yet. Upon walking in you are greeted by 1 of 2 very friendly guys (friendly guys in W. Hollywood, go figure!) who is sitting behind a desk. Each of the guys have 2 Apple computers and there is a monitor that is hooked up to a camera overlooking the medicine area in the back. The lobby is pretty big with an ATM and some chairs to sit and wait if the guys behind the desk are busy. There was a security guard standing at the entrance to the medicine room that watched over everything.

I sat at the desk in front of one of the guys and started the process. Like I said he was very cool. Took my recommendation and started the verification process. While he was looking me up, I realized I forgot to feed the parking meter and panicked! Luckily they not only had a change dish for me to grab from, they also validate parking tickets for the lot behind them. Had I known that I would have not parked on the street. Either way, parking is a breeze.

By the time I ran back across the street, dude already had me all set. But instead of me going right back to the medicine room, he sat me down and proceeded to school me in the ways of medical marijuana and how they operate at The Farmacy. After about 5 minutes I was good to go. Before heading into the back, you are handed a raffle ticket to use at the entrance which you then hand to the security guard about 2 feet away. It was a little odd.

So after getting by guard #1, I walked into the medicine room and guard #2 immediately asked me to please have a seat and as soon as one of the employees was done with their current customer, I could step up. While I was sitting and waiting, another guy walked in and went straight to the concentrates table. A big no-no. Security guard #2 rushed him and asked him to have a seat.

       Mr. Nice                                                                                               Sour Diesel

The marijuana selection at The Farmacy is top notch. Everything they sell is grown organically and that is something that they take a lot of pride in. I went with a gram of Mr. Nice and Sour Diesel each for $20 (With my first timer 25% discount I paid $15/each). They had bud that was both cheaper and more expensive. I remember seeing some Sensi Star that I wanted to try but I had spent too much money earlier in the day at Delta 9 and was broke. In addition to great bud, The Farmacy has some killer concentrates starting at $20 and going all the way up to $75. From full melt hash to frozen trichomes, they got it. And their selection of edibles is as good as everything else. My free gift was a grape sucker that was AWESOME!

Overall I’d say this is one of the best medical marijuana dispensaries in Southern California. They really take pride in their work and in the products they are selling. The Farmacy is definitely a place I’ll be frequenting in the very near future.  –Chubbs
