Name: Sweet & Sour D Wax

From: Berkeley Patients Group (Dispensary – Berkeley)

Grade: A+

Type: Ear wax hash – sativa dominant

Genetics: Sweet Tooth X Sour Diesel

Price: $40 gram

Looks: Like rich golden honey, this stuff is wicked sticky.

Smell: ?

Taste: This stuff has a rich flavor, which I’m not used to in concentrates, but when this wax first starts to bubble, there is definitely a tangy kick.

Buzz Type: Intense. This is my first wax, and I’m glad I decided to splurge today. After three or four good hits with some wax sprinkled on top, I had decided I’ve had enough and had to dump it. This buzz was immediate, and hit hard in the forehead. Its effects were overwhelmingly cerebral. Definitely don’t toss this on your salad if you have to make sense when you are talking, or concentrate on anything too hard. Great for a movie, and a big bag of popcorn though!

Buzz Length: Long. Dumped the bowl about 2 ½ hours ago, and I’m still a little loosey goosey.

Overall: My buddy concurs, we are pleased. –budlord

Pakistani Charas From Pakistan (Heavyhitter88)

For those of you that don’t know (and I didn’t until I looked it up), the Middle East (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc) calls hand-made hash charas.

Camera Used: Canon Powershot SD1000. Old, I know, but reliable, ABSOLUTELY! Has never crapped out on me over at least 4 years. It’s scratched up as hell, but still functions wonderfully and provides awesome shots.

Name: Pakistani Charas

From: Pakistan

Grade: A- for a hash. I grade hashes on a separate scale from buds, because I personally feel it is unfair to compare the two as they are very different.

Type: Hand rolled Pakistani charas. Comes in long thin bars, almost like a dark chocolate candy bar.

Price: Dirt cheap. I got a bar of at least 7 grams for about $20. And I knew I was being ripped off, but that price for that much hash is absurd and I wasn’t about to argue about it.

Looks: Outside is dark, dark brown, nearly black, and shiny. But the inside is a lighter brown, even a bit golden, and very crystally. Almost nougat-like inside, with a hard outer shell.

Smell: Aromatic and spicy. You can’t really smell the outside too strongly, but it still emits subtle hints of spice and incense. The first time I broke a piece of the bar off, my nostrils were hit by an incredibly strong, spicy aroma that flooded my room. There were hints of fruity-ness, and incense, but the spice was predominant.

If I could describe it as anything, I suppose it was a lot like rosemary mixed with burning cumin and sugar. It was very pleasant, and when it burned the incense smell came out powerfully.

Taste: Very hashy (haha). Spicy, but also skunky. Not really much sweet or incense in the taste, mainly a nice balance between spicy and skunky that left a somewhat sour taste (in a good way) in my mouth after each hit.

Buzz Type: Stoned Body High. The body high kicked in first and I began to buzz a little and, as I relaxed in my chair, felt like I was slowly melting. The head high came slowly, but soon enough my mind raced from one topic to the next, then settled on listening to music outside.

Buzz Length: Long. Pretty decent, probably heavily sedated for 3-4 hours, and I had a bit of a come down buzz for pretty much the rest of the night.

Overall: By the time I got to take the photos I had burned through most of the bar, and was relying on the little I had left. That tiny chunk in the photos lasted me for easily 2 weeks.

The hand rolled aspect is really neat, as I am not the biggest fan of the crazy technological hash crazes nowadays. My motto: who needs a bag when you can just go get your hands covered in resin and roll your own hash bars? Anyways, maybe I’m a purist—and obviously I know new methods such as bubble bags, ice water extraction, and whatnot create a purer product—but I just love the fact that I’m smoking hand rolled hash.

Buzz Report: Though very similar to Indian charas, it has a bit of a spicier taste. The effects are nearly identical, but I must say I think the Pakistani charas lasts a bit longer.

If you ever get a chance, for the real deal that is—not the crap they sell in dispensaries or shops in Amsterdam claiming to be “charas”, which is usually leftovers—then definitely take it. You will not regret it. I just wish I had brought four or five charas balls and a few charas sticks back, but that is a risk I am most definitely not nearly ready to make. –Heavyhitter88

From: Private Dealer – Israel

Grade: B+

Type: Concentrate – Hash

Price: $40/oz

Looks: Variations of brown (dark delight). When broken into long, slender pieces, the "fingers" look like Kit-Kat bars. When held under light, faint glisten of crystals.

Smell: None until toasted, hashy, slightly spicy smell.

Taste: Inhale is fairly harsh, with a similar hashy, spicy flavor on exhale.

Buzz Type: 50-50 sativa/indica high. I found it to immediately induce a very strong head high and body high while The Genie found it to be more of a Sativa high in the beginning, with an Indica comedown.

Buzz Length: Medium. 1.5-3 hours.

Overall: Beyond well worth its price as far as hash goes albeit a medium quality hash. –510 Smokey and Genie 913

Ah-ha – this member is actually two members…I like the yin and yang thing.

Name: Amnesia Ice

From: Amnesia (Coffee Shop – Amsterdam)

Grade: A

Type: Dutch Ice-o-Lator Hash

Price: $50/g

Looks: Like little pieces of a lighter shade delicate milk chocolate. This stuff was like lightly compacted powder.

Smell: Strong chocolatey, incense smell that is relinquished when you put a flame to it and see it bubble.

Taste: Smooth complex taste that I found similar to the Waterworks Iceolator hash from De Dampkring.

Buzz Type: Creepy sativa high that seems to never reach its pinnacle. Highly potent.

Buzz Length: Long. Buzz lasted for so damn long, easily 2 1/2 hours +.

Overall: This might have been the best hash we smoked all trip. Mostly went straight kief and Amnesia Ice bowls at our local coffee shop, 420 Cafe which I will review a lot of samples from in the near future. The buzz was insanely buggin and paranoid which I truly do love. I will be sure to snag the full gram instead of the half next time. –Meangreenmartian

Type: Full Melt Hash

Price: $20/gram

Looks: Reminds of very fine sand, with crystals surrounding each particle of sand.

Smell: A very robust, flower-like smell that overtakes your smell.

Taste: The stereotypical potent hash taste that reminds me of sweet incense.

Buzz Type: A clear head high that makes your forehead feel like it is caving in. Very active minded high that is great in social situations and what not. You can feel the high creep into your head as the hit is exhaled and 15 minutes later you’re comfortably numb.

Buzz Length: LONG, this hash is bomb and kept me high for 3+ hours after smoking a few bowls through the US Tubes with a screen. The active high stays for a long time and then the sleepiness comes.

Overall: So far this is the best tasting hash I have bought from BPG, it is difficult to pinpoint the taste of this hash because the flavors seem so complex. The buzz is top notch and great for daytime or nighttime activities. –chrisjd1116

Type: Dutch Water Hash

Price: $36/gram

Looks: Really dark brown almost black, very soft and squishy like play dough.

Smell: A very sweet smell with hashy undertones.

Taste: Very creamy and surprisingly smooth.

Buzz Type: Instant soaring high, very clear.

Buzz Length: Medium. Not too long maybe 1 and a half hours.

Overall: Good quality hash but I’m guessing Greenhouse has better varieties on the menu.

Buzz Report: You could smoke this day or night with a very slight, if any, body stone involved. –Dambuster

We received these great photos from MR member choups. I can’t really tell which buds are from where – but they are a beautiful mosaic nonetheless! –Mrs. Chubbs

Hi. I came from Paris and spent three months in San Francisco.

It was great. I enjoyed testing a lot of weed and hash, especially top shelf.

I wanted to show you what I tried in your country and what I enjoyed – like the Sour Diesel Hash and the Blackberry Kush, which were f’ing potent and tasty.

So back in Paris I took some pictures of my private dealer choices that I wanted to share with you.

I didn’t take pictures of the weed I get in Paris. My private dealer has Chocolope (aka D-Line), Martian Mean Green, White Widow and Super Silver Haze.

I will definitely say that your weed is the best I have ever tried – especially for the look and taste…like this dank daddy I took a picture of (last picture).

See you next time in Cali, I’ll be back soon!

Name: Lebanese Hash

From: Hezbollah, Lebanon. No joke.

Grade: A+++

Type: Pure gold, that’s all I can say.

Price: $40 for a ball the size of a golf ball! Can’t get much better than that, must’ve been at least an 8th in it.

Looks: Like kief clay balls packed together. It had the consistency of clay, but broke off into little smaller balls when crumbled.

Smell: Like fire gold! Imagine pure kief, add some lovely skunky stink, and then just throw a dab of magic and you have an idea of what the wonderful aroma was like.

Taste: Like pure, unadulterated, filtered THC.

Buzz Type: Heavy, f**k you up and leave you lying on your hotel bed at 4:00am wondering what happened to the last 6 hours?

This takes no prisoners and is as unforgiving as it gets…in the best way.

Buzz Length: Loooooooong. This guy I met from Eastern Europe split the bag with me and we smoked from 11:00pm when we got it until 4:00am the next day, at which point I realized I had to sober up and get a taxi so I didn’t miss my plane to Greece!

Seriously, I was still high when I got off the plane from Greece, and not just groggy, but flat out high as a kite. My girlfriend met me in Greece and commented on how bloodshot my eyes were and asked me if I was high. All I could do was giggle!

Overall: If anyone ever gets a chance to go to Lebanon, go to the Bekaa valley and make sure you get your hands on some of the homegrown, homemade hash because it is just about the apex of all weed smoking experiences ever. And I do not generally make bold statements like that.

This shit was the REAL DEAL!

Conclusion: Lebanon is known, unfortunately, for its bloody history, recent conflicts, and lack of a government. However, I want everyone from now on to know it for its incredible hash. I mean seriously, this blew out anything I have ever had in the States or Europe. BY FAR!!! –Heavyhitter88

Most people might look at this and be a little grossed out. Man as I am sitting here starring at this beautiful little hash nugget I can’t help but think about how good hash buzzes feel.

Name: Sweet Skunk Hash

From: Apothecary 420 (Dispensary – Los Angeles)

Grade: B

Type: Sativa

Price: $25 Half-Gram

Looks: Very sticky … looks like a piece of melted butterscotch or caramel candy.

Smell: Very candy “like.”

Taste: Nothing like it smells or what you’d think by the name. It DOES start of a bit sweet but, very QUICKLY leaves a very strong ash/charcoal aftertaste in the mouth.

Buzz Type: Definitely a hard head buzz – my nose and eyes felt very “heavy”; more so than the top of my head. The feeling is almost as if I was congested.

Provides a very dry mouth … a little numbness in the lips/teeth/gums (am I smoking hash or just rubbed cocaine on my gums!?!?!).

Buzz Length: Medium. Buzz starts to kick in about 5-10 minutes after a good solid hit. I broke a very small piece (maybe half the size of an eraser on back of a #2 pencil) for my hash pipe. The head was heavy for a good 45 minutes – hour.

Overall: Like my review of GDP Hash, the call is still out for me on how I feel about concentrates. It seems like I prefer to use hash as a topper vs. smoking it on its own. As a topper, I like how hash provides that extra “oomph” when needed; especially when your flowers are not doing the full job for you.

What I am not crazy about is the cocaine-like numbness I feel in my mouth with hash. I wonder if anyone else out there gets that same numbness feel.

There is one positive side of hash for me: I like the fact I can put a small amount in a hash pipe, take a hit or two, put the cap back on my hash pipe and throw it my pen jar. The stickiness of it makes the hash adhere to the screen after that first hit so nothing falls out (even with the top off).

At times, I just need a quick hit due to certain people being around me or I have a just a second to run out of the house, take a hit, and come back in. Hash makes this very easy to do for me…much easier than flowers. –IE420Patient

This weekend Mrs. Chubbs and I are hitting a bunch of collectives in L.A. in an attempt to put together a killer hash session. Definitely going to be a fun Sunday. –Chubbs
