Looks: Massive buds. Very leafy. Dark green with yellow highlights. Short brown hairs here and there. Sparse trichome coverage.

Smell: Subtle and musky.

Taste: Through the vape, it’s like the smell – musky and subdued. Through a pipe, the smoke taste overwhelms the bud’s taste.

Buzz Type: If I was up doing something, the sativa side kept me going without abnormal tiring. Once I sat down, I found it very comfortable to stay that way.

Buzz Length: Short. I was always re-dosing on something else forty-five minutes after using this.

Overall: The name intrigued me, but I should have taken a closer look before I bought it. I checked it out under a microscope and found that the trichomes were still clear, so I suspect that this was hastily harvested.

I’ve bought other meds from this particular dispensary and found them more than satisfactory, so I can really only blame myself for not taking a closer look. –mundane

Name: Silver OG Kush

From: Private Dealer

Grade: A-

Type: Hybrid (Sativa dominant)

Genetics: I was told it is a cross between Silver Haze x OG Kush

Price: $60/8th, $320/oz

Looks: Fluffy and silvery. Very light green, small buds with blood red hairs throughout. The trichs on this glittered in the light like silver dust.

Smell: Strong, but more of a hazy smell than kush. It had a bit of the kush skunkiness to it, but the first thing I thought of when I smelled this was a fresh field after a rainstorm. Kind of obscure description I know, but that’s what it says in my notes so I’m running with it – haha.

Taste: Light and hashy, but with a distinct sweet and sour aftertaste, like Sour Patch but not as sour.

Buzz Type: Light. This is a definite morning smoke. I felt energized and active after smoking a bowl of this, and halfway through a joint I found myself looking for things to do other than watch “Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia’” and play video games.

One of the more energetic OG Kush’s I have had.

Buzz Length: Short-Medium. Depending on the amount smoked this stuff had the unfortunate habit of fading pretty quickly. The peak lasted for a good 45 min-1 hour, but after that it gradually wore off until I found myself packing another bowl and lighting up just about 2 hours after initial lift off. Wish it could have been longer, but excellent nonetheless.

Overall: Awesome bud that gave me a perspective on the other kind of OG, the sativa dominant kind. I definitely enjoyed this on those sunny mornings before classes, but only wish that it lasted longer so I didn’t burn through my bag so quickly.

Buzz Report: While not the strong, knock-you-out kind of OG Kush I reviewed earlier, this definitely has its appeal. The bud looks, smells, and tastes fantastic, but its only flaw is the shortness of length.

My buddy tells me he is working on a Frankenstein project of sorts trying to cross Super Silver Haze genetics with this Silver OG Kush. As soon as I have the bud I will send in a review because it is sure to be MONSTROUS!!! –Heavyhitter88

Looks: Solid, sticky indica. Very well formed nugs. The herb is a light olive green, and the untrimmed leaf is a little darker forest green.

Short clusters of dark orange hairs all over as well. Doesn’t look covered in trichs at first glance, but a closer look reveals sparkly resin glands with shorter stalks and milky heads. The nugs look wet almost! Visually appealing for a fan of bomb ass Kush.

Smell: Warning – if staying low key is a concern, you might want a blow tube, or incense or Febreeze.

When my nose was handed the jar of Herojuana, it melted with pleasure. Strong, STRONG, musky OG smell. Very kushy. Almost like the beloved PR OG.

Big earthy flavor. Do not be alarmed if other people in your sesh ask you to blow your hit in their faces. It’s that dank. Basically, the smell will get you high.

Taste: Unbelievable classic kush taste. Strong on the inhale, sweet on the exhale. That kind of "marijuana mint" flavor if that makes any sense

Buzz Type: Overall stoning of all perception; be it audio, visual, sensory, or spiritual in nature. The body buzz immediately takes focus on your forehead and upper body/ torso.

As a creator of sounds (musician), I find this bud to hold somewhat inspiring and creative effects. Typical indica high. A very nice bedtime bowl too. Patients suffering from insomnia know what I’m talking about.

Buzz Length: Not at as long as an insanely cerebral sativa, but it’s short to medium depending on how much you use. A couple snappers and normal sized bowls will have you in the kindest of spirits.

Overall: Very potent herb. Smokes and burns really nice like all amazing kind bud should. Strong indica stone and a nice mellowing of a tense mood.

I don’t believe the price is reasonable by any means; I don’t exactly feel that herb should have any price, but I had the extra $5 today and I said f*&k it. First $25g I’ve bought.

HIGHLY recommended for the Kush or Indica lover, or just an all around OG fan. I’d love to see some Herojuana full melt hash. Maybe in the bowl of my bong, with some Herojuana Kief to top it all off! Goooood night insomnia! –Merkaba

Looks: A very middle-of-the-road green color, large flowers, frosty with a smattering of orange hairs here and there.

Smell: Spicy perfume-like smell, very much like OG Kush.

Taste: Strong. Nice resin taste if you can avoid coughing.

Buzz Type: Mild head buzz. Appetite stimulant. Minor uplift. Just didn’t seem as potent as it looks.

Buzz Length: Short-Medium. 1-2 hours.

Overall: Those expecting an indica kush high will be disappointed. If you look at it as a sativa it’s OK but not nearly as good as something like ATF, or original OG Kush. It was advertised as a sativa by the dispensary.

Buzz Report: Took one bong hit of this for a wake n’ bake. It was nice for a while but I ended up smoking the whole gram by lunchtime. –necros

Type: Sativa

Price: $50/appx. 2.5 grams

Looks: Dense, sticky dark green nugs. Dark orange pistils and a fine dusting of amber trichomes put the finishing touch on these moist buds. Tough to break apart because they’re so sticky.

Smell: Bright and sweet with a skunky undertone. White pepper and citrus notes. Very fragrant. Tickles your nose in a nice way.

Taste: Much heavier taste than what I expected from the smell. It’s herbal, cinnamon-y, like the powder or bark smells. Has a slight lemon aftertaste.

Feels a little acrid in my mouth and makes my nose twitch. A very smooth smoke going in and coming out.

Buzz Type: Nice and heady. About ten minutes after taking two tokes from my one-hitter, I became very active, mentally and physically. My mood is up and I feel happy and bright.

PhD makes me want to move and dance. Music sounds really good.

Buzz Length: Light and short. I could toke this herb all day. It comes on easy, rides easy, and tapers off easy. Two hits and after 90 minutes or so I could smoke some more.

Overall: Just what I was looking for – a breezy, uplifting high. Mentally I feel good, bright, and focused, yet able to handle multiple sensory stimuli without freaking out.

Buzz Report: A very pleasant, stimulating smoke. Doesn’t look too impressive but gives a bright, cerebral lift and physical energy. I’m down with PhD. –jcblaze

Looks: Light and fluffy. Light green with short red hairs concealed by the fluffy bud. Light trichome sprinkling, especially in the “valleys” where bud meets stem.

Smell: Like something sweet and….sugary. Not particularly potent, but pleasant nonetheless.

Taste: Sweet and hashy. Imagine a hash brownie made with brown sugar.

Buzz Type: Light and energetic. I smoked a lot of this in the mornings and could always be willing to smoke more.

It just made me feel so great and happy that I felt like I could accomplish anything. Definitely one of the lighter strains I’ve had.

Buzz Length: Short. Usually only lasted about an hour to two. But that was okay because I would always want to smoke more, and it was comparatively cheap.

Overall: While not one of the more memorable, potent, or stinky strains I have had in my pipe, Sugar Shack definitely was enjoyable to smoke on warm summer mornings before getting into the heavier Kushes.

Its energetic high and cheap price made it especially popular for me when I had to worry about things like working and thinking…

Buzz Report: If you’re looking for something to, you know, put you in the mood without utterly demolishing you, then look no further. Sugar Shack was the perfect little pick me up for those days when getting blasted on Kush or Jack Herer was just not an option.

The sweet, hashy taste was also a great alternative to the leafy taste of beasters or even worse….SCHWAG!!!! –Heavyhitter88

Looks: Beautiful weed, great bag appearance. Big, dark nugs patched randomly in wild red hairs and blanketed in bright, almost pink, glowing crystals. Big, chunky flowers.

Smell: This bud had a range of defined odors. Pungent, somewhat sour diesel smell mixed with a bit of skunk as well as of tropical fruit, like mango (especially when freshly chopped up).

Taste: Like the smell, sweet and sour…delicious!

Buzz Type: A bit of a let down. Not very intense nor euphoric, more mind-numbing than anything with a big burnout.

Buzz Length: Short-Medium. I could feel the effects after 1.5 hours although the high only really lasted 1 hour.

Overall: I got this OG Kush from a friend the other day where I live in London, Ontario. I found it strange that this bud would let me down as it looked and smelled so good.

As far as looks, smell and taste go, this bud was scrumptious. When used for its primary purpose (getting me high), it bombed.

Possible benefits could be stimulating appetite as well as sleep. As you can’t judge a book by its cover, so you can’t judge a bud by its sweet, beautiful crystals. –CanadaDank07

Looks: Very lime green with brilliant orange flaming hairs. Smothered in ripe trichromes.

Smell: Lemon/lime skunk with a little something extra. I can’t put my finger on the smell but I remember it from some killer skunk weed in the early 90s. One of my favorite smelling plants.

Taste: Very similar to the smell. There is definitely that sweet skunk lingering taste going on here. One of my favorite tasting plants too.

Even if you quick dry in a paper bag between two graphics cards on your computer for 6 hours, it tastes amazing. Truly a tasty treat!

Buzz Type: Pretty even hybrid buzz. It seems that the atmosphere you are in has a lot to do with the perception of how this bud effects one’s self.

If you smoke a lot and sit inside all day, you will be couch locked. If you head outside, you will be motivated to have fun. Good balance.

Buzz Length: Short-long. 1-3hrs depending on situation.

If you are munching down on some food, expect to lose your high in an hour or so with minimal burn out.

If you are out having fun, that same amount of smoke will last you 2-3 hours with practically no burn out. Of course that’s assuming you aren’t pigging out while you are out having fun!

Overall: This is my favorite so far from 6 grows of over 15 strains from various breeders. It will be re-vegged to become a mother for a stable supply of the best medical marijuana.

Grow Report: The only bad thing I can say is this – out of the 5 feminised seeds, I only got 1 to sprout. Other than that it is very easy to grow.

Grown indoors in the great Pacific Northwest. Vegged for 2.5 weeks under 125W cfl with Advanced Nutrients Sensi A/B.

Flowered for 9 weeks with 400W DWC with CO2. Advanced Nutrients Connoisseur was used as well as Big Bud, Overdrive and Carboload.

Flushed for 14 days with reverse osmosis water. Yield after drying was 2.5oz. –closed4fishing

Looks: Pretty fluffy, nice amount of purple. The green is pretty dark on the nugs. There is a good amount of thin orange hairs with good trichome coverage.

Smell: The smell on this Lavender is not too strong. I would have to say it smells kind of sour and a little bit sweet with some skunk smell.

Taste: Light skunky taste.

Buzz Type: Very strong couch lock, this Organic Lavender made me really sleepy. Nice body high that is good for relaxing.

Buzz Length: Short. Not too long, but it hit hard.

Overall: This is a great strain if you are looking for a heavy indica. This strain would be great for sleep disorders or body pains. I was a bit disappointed that the smell wasn’t too pungent though. The Lavender was a pretty smooth smoke. I thought the buzz length was kind of short, but very strong. –BayAreaSmoker
