Type: Sativa (Sour Diesel x Trainwreck)

Price: $220/ounce

Looks: Light, fluffy buds. Light green buds, dark orange hairs, and crystals are very prominent. A little bit on the leafy side.

Smell: Almost a fruity mint smell. Smells sweet with a twist. Good smell.

Taste: Doesn’t hit you too hard. Tastes normal with a smooth exhale.

Buzz Type: After a couple huge bong rips, I get a massive head rush. I feel motivated and uplifted and feel like getting things done.

Buzz Length: Medium – 1-2 hours.

Overall: For the strain, I was hoping for better buds. I can’t go wrong with the price though. The best part about this weed was going on with my day normally after taking a few rips. I didn’t feel slow, and I felt motivated to get things done. –Tronda Bap

Looks: Covered in multi-colored spindly hairs, with lots of crystals.

Smell: Sweet citrus with an odd hint of haze.

Taste: Really fruity, the taste stays on your tongue for a while.

Buzz Type: Classic sativa with an obvious creep to it.

Buzz Length: Long. 2 Hours+.

Overall: Total creeper – I smoked a couple fat rips right before work and by the time I sat down I was RIPPED. I only got a small sampling but the bud I got was kind of airy. Delicious none the less with a great buzz. –H1JACK3R

OK, so here’s the dealio. IE420Patient was fortunate enough to try the NUGGETRY Green Crack twice. This “version” as he calls it, is from a different grower in the NUGGETRY family with a different cutting. Let’s read on to see that the differences are:

Name: NUGGETRY Green Crack

From: California Patients Association (Dispensary – Santa Ana)

Grade: A

Type: Sativa

Price: $55/8th

Looks: Almost exactly like Green Crack Version 1 (V1) but, a bit lighter in green color.

Smell: Just like a pitcher of southern sweet tea.

Taste: Initially, the taste is very earthy with a bit of sour lemon funk hitting the back of the throat with the exhale. Rips very smooth with a sweet dry after taste that lingers in your mouth.

Buzz Type: Hits you right between the eyes. Noticeable cerebral pressure with light tingle around the nose. Tingle intensifies through the entire body. The tingle is similar to the effects of beta alanine (an ingredient used in body building products). I found myself wanting to move around a lot and I could not sit still.

Buzz Length: Above Average.

Overall: This version of Green Crack hit me in ways very different than other batches of Green Crack I’ve had. This version smoked very smooth; not as harsh as other batches I’ve tried. Unlike V1 this Version 2 (V2) motivates me to get up and move around vs. being immersed in the moment.

I felt my body jittery but, the head high was more heavy and mellower vs. V1 (which was more a heavy and uplifting high) and that head high overtakes the body buzz about half hour into a session. This version also had some great legs … the buzz length was noticeably longer. For reference, average to me is up to a hour, above average is past the hour mark with what I’d consider to be a small bowl fill (I am assuming my bowls are much smaller than most readers here).

Now to the million dollar question … which one is better? V1 at $60 or this V2 at $55? I think it will really depends on the kind of head buzz you are looking for. I say both are solid As. For me, I prefer V1 only because when it comes to sativas I want to be uplifted with focus. I desire that sense of extreme awareness and focus with sativas.

It’s hard to explain but, in terms of the actual head buzz, think of the head tingle being way more intense with V1 which I prefer. This one did not work my head the same way but I felt way more jittery in the body with V2. Because the head high was not as intense, I can work while medicating with V2 but, only for short periods as that jitteriness keeps me getting up from my desk chair. So for me, V1 would be for those times where I need visual enhancement and focus and V2 would be for the times where I had to do activities such as clean the house, work in the yard/garage, etc. Hope you guys understand all that! -IE420Patient

We have a friend from up north that recently got his card. He had his first dispensary experience and called us about it. Came across this strain…he thought it was pronounced Choco-lo-pei. Obviously the bud tender did not talk about the genetics of this strain. Chubbs and I were in tears….

Genetics: Chocolate Thai x Cannalope

Price: N/A

Looks: Fluffy light buds with a alfalfa green tint and light orange hairs all over with trichomes engulfing the entire bud.

Smell: Super sweet – a skunky cantaloupe covered in sugar more or less.

Taste: At first the smoke tastes as if you had dipped the nuggets into chocolate fondue. Then as you start to exhale it starts to get fruity then for about a minute it just tastes like straight cantaloupe!

Buzz Type: Baked but also a lot of energy.

Buzz Length: Long – 2 hours.

Overall: I love this bud. Every time I smoke it I try and use a clean pipe for ultimate taste considering this is some of the best tasting bud EVER! It’s almost like a desert. If you ever get any stash a few nugs away for the rain days when there’s only the mid grade! –COGanjaClub

Genetics: Jamaican Landrace?

Price: $15/gram

Looks: Skinny buds, like I remember from back in the day, but much greener/prettier/fresher.

Smell: Unique. Fresh. Earthy, slightly citrus. Subtle. What MJ *should* smell like.

Taste: Same. Nothing crave-worthy like Blue Dream (or I’d give it A+), but nice.

Buzz Type: Not sure why/how Jamaica got into the whole "no problem…soon come" thing with this herb around. Very energetic, and I could function very well. Maybe in higher doses you’d want to just crash under a thatched hut and drink Appleton’s Overproof while what qualifies as waves in Montego Bay gently lap the shore, but I sure didn’t feel like vegging out on this.

Length: Medium.

Overall: I was in Jamaica around 1980. Everyone and his mother had "Lamb’s Bread" for sale, including the bus driver that picked us up at the airport. Most was shwag. But then I found a grower in the hills (short story: dude thought we wanted a freaking *ship load*, so it got a little hairy) who had what I believe was the real deal. Never saw the bud though, since it was pre-rolled in gianormous spliffs that- I’m not kidding- would burn for an hour.

Being hammock-locked in Negril while plain-clothes cops busted (and busted up) a dealer near us caused an understandably paranoid rush, but otherwise it was an awesome time. This herb is very nice if you want to be able to function. It’s now one of my favorites. A couple hits and everything just feels like summer. –Drums

Genetics: Swiss Sativa x NL5 Haze Mist

Price: $20/gram

Looks: Popcorn buds that are cured PERFECTLY. Dry and fluffy but SOOOO sticky when you break it up. If you plan on rolling don’t break this up first. Crystals are in a medium amount and the hairs are extremely colorful.

Smell: Mildly fruity. I can’t really pick out one certain smell but get hints of strawberry and maybe banana?

Taste: A fruity flavor that just sticks to everything in your mouth. No strawberry taste whatsoever though.

Buzz Type: Very nice sativa! Upbeat, giggly and lots of talking.

Buzz Length: Loooong. I smoked half a blunt with my girl and was high for a good 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

Overall: Perfect buds that were amazing to break up. I mixed this 50/50 in a green dutchy with some Chemo and the Chemo taste overpowered all of the strawberry. But the high was straight sativa for me. Impressed 100% with this strain. –1000toes

We’ve been getting a ton of NUGGETRY reviews, and I would feel remiss if I didn’t post them But I’m still gonna bring you reviews from everyone else. Trust me, we have loads in the queue.

I have learned that CPA has two versions of Green Crack. This is the original. I will post the follow-up review of #2 tomorrow.

Type: Sativa

Genetics: Possibly -> Skunk #1 x Sweet Leaf Afghani

Price: $60/8th

Looks: Tight and somewhat dense nugs. Squeezing a nug with two fingers is like squeezing a roll of Charmin (very soft with a rigid bounce back). Some nugs are so trich’ed out they look white. Noticeable protruding orange hairs which seems to be a signature of Green Crack.

Smell: Like fermented fruit. Very sweet with some funk on the back end. I am diggin’ the smell of this one. The smell intensifies if you put it through a grinder.

Taste: A bit fruity and tropical leaning more towards a sour lemony and pineapple side. Smokes a bit harsh. I coughed on every rip.

Buzz Type: Intense full body tingle. Extreme awareness. I killed all the lights in my house and on plasma watched Tron in HD and just got immersed in the colors. I also watched 2001: A Space Odyssey on this too. Movies like these on Green Crack took it to a whole other level. When “anyone” says that doing something is so better when done high/medicated/stoned, this is the kind of bud they are referring to. Green Crack “enhanced” everything!

Buzz Length: Medium.

Overall: This is a very solid batch of sativa. But, this is not the first time I’ve tried Green Crack. Looking back at my notes/files I have a Green Crack “folder” created from October 2009. I got it from a LA collective but, did not find it memorable or good enough take notes on it (and/or do a review). I just have photos. So, when I saw this on the menu at CPA I really did not give it much attention. But smelling and seeing this particular batch under the microscope changed my mind and thus, I had to give it a shot again and I am glad I did.

It seems like on the sativa side of the MMJ scale, the really good ones come and go and are not always widely available like the better Indicas. Hope this level of Green Crack stays around for sometime… one of the best sativas I’ve medicated with in a long time! The only thing stopping this from being an “A+” is the buzz length. I need one bowl too many to get me to a level I like. –IE420Patient

Looks: Automatically appealing to the eyes, dark/light green buds with some nice looking brown/orange hairs that look like they’re going to be very sticky at first sight. Chemdawg is very covered in crystals/trichomes! The only leafy bud in the whole bag was pictured and even that bud close up had nice patches all over it.

Smell: I have only smoked Sour Diesel before smoking this strain, but I can see now where Sour Diesel got most of its genetics from. Chemdawg has a very strong Diesel smell to it, even though this strain is not like Sour Diesel all the way. Its “Diesely” smell is the only thing I can pin point it on. Either way it’s a very pungent smell that stands out a lot.

Taste: Very surprisingly sweet pungent diesel flavor. Everyone I tried this with liked the taste of this stuff a lot, someone always said something nice about it right away every time. The taste of Chemdawg is another trait in Sour Diesel that makes it just amazing. Its taste is almost as good to me as a GREAT Kush or purple marijuana. Without this strain there would be no “Sour Diesel” taste or smell.

Buzz Type: Stimulating heavy body buzz that mainly is focused in the forehead area, but also leaves you very awake and alert at the same time. Chemdawg’s high is very similar also to Sour Diesel, but this strain’s high is a bit heavier if grown right than some Sour Diesels I’ve had before.

Buzz Length: Long. 2.5 to 3hrs.

Overall: I only had Chemdawg crossed with other strains or Sour Diesel strains before I tried it just by itself and it ended up being a VERY GOOD find for me just all by itself. I enjoyed this strain very much, it is some of the best marijuana I’ve ever come across and wouldn’t mind getting my hands on another batch of this very same stuff all the time –Stezz
