Comments: This company makes several variations of simple and effective tubes, with extraordinary craftsmanship – as well as more complex setups now.  Whenever anyone checks this tube out they remark on how thick and heavy it is, and how the joint appears to be unbreakable.  It’s the thickest joint you’ll see on any glass on glass tube anywhere, that’s for sure. 

As far as it functions, U.S. Tubes makes slimmer beakers, which makes it clear more quickly, similar to a straight tube.  I’ve daily driven this thing for quite awhile and it’s perfect for this task.  It also works well with or without an ash catcher, although I prefer to use all my tubes with one. 

Although I’m fairly new to glass, I’ve witnessed U.S. Tubes come up incredibly quickly.  They seem to be taking tried and true designs, and making them better than everyone else.   They’re even putting percs in their newer designs, which makes them rule even more. 

Their tubes are available in brick and mortar glass stores in California (and possibly other states), as well at least one online glass store.  Overall this is an excellent tube.  –throwitallaway

I walked into the illadelph Glass Store (review coming soon) on Melrose in Hollywood dead set on buying a sick piece that had at least 1 set of tree percs. The dude working there was showing me just that and this frosty machine was on the wall behind him just calling me…..Chubbs……….Chubbs………..I’m so frosty!

Obviously I couldn’t resist her overwhelming charms. I am going to break her in over the next day or 2 and will be posting a review of both the bong and the ash catcher separately.  –Chubbs

Comments: Keck Clips are a must for anyone who has a glass on glass tube. They are made to hold in your downstem so when you pull your slide to clear the tube, the diffuser does not come out with it. It’ll save you a diffuser one day. They area available in a wide variety of colors to match any tube or set.

Keck Clips can be bought through amazon.com, ebay.com, or by “Yahoo!” searching “Keck Clips”

Prices range from $1.00 a piece to up to $10.00 a piece in a headshop. Buy them online- you’re best bet is usually amazon.com  –trikky

Thanks for breaking it down trikky. For a while I thought K-Clips were suppose to attach the bowl to the diffuser so you can pull on the bowl and the entire unit comes out, as you can see by the way I have my orange K-Clip attached in the picture.  –Chubbs

I am not going to lie, I am a Illadelph fanboy. I got this ash catcher about a month ago and am so far completely satisfied with it. The craftsmanship is top notch. I have yet to find a single thing I don’t love about it. Each cut in the 4 arm tree percolated ash catcher is smooth and precise. It’s obvious that this piece was was blown by a master tradesman.

The ash catcher comes in 3 parts, a removable 4 arm tree percolator, the ash catcher base, and a large keck clip (k-clip).

As far as ash catchers go, I couldn’t ask for more. This thing does everything you could hope for and more. Tons of added diffusion and not a single flake of ash has made it into the bong reservoir. Other than the astronomical price, there is really no downside to this ash catcher. If you are looking for the best and have a few extra bucks to spend, this is the ash catcher for you.  –drewzilla484

Comments: The RooR 4-Arm Triple Perc is a great starter triple perc tube. The fine craftmanship and design make for a great beginner tube that is sure to not let you down.

There are other tubes out there with more arm on the trees and less drag, but for the money, this tube is top notch. Each tree arm is diffused, but as I have said with RooR previously, it does NOT comes with a diffused downstem, which is bogus.  –trikky

Comments: The standard non-diffused is the least effective downstem at cooling smoke. Though the RooR downstem is crafted well, it does little in the way of cooling smoke.

It is simply a hollow tunnel to draw the smoke through. For the price of a RooR tube, a diffused downstem should be standard.  –trikky

Definitely the worst of the 3 downstems you reviewed so far. The bubble in the pic look decent but I know from experience that these suck.  –Chubbs

Pros: Heavy, Z Styled Perc, Sturdy/thick bisbol joint (is that the correct term for the female joint on the bong),Zong section for compact smoke, Adding and ash catcher does not add drag. Even without ice pinches, ice can still be held in the top section before the curves,Curves also help protect the perc. by slowing down the ice

Cons: Even though adding an a/c does not add drag there is a considerable amount of drag to begin with, The bottom chamber seems to be thinner than the rest of the bong which makes me worried about the weld, Did not come with a diffused downstem, Z perc is hard to get "brand new" clean, Dirt specs remain even after very long cleanings

Overall: I think Zong Co makes some good pieces which is why I purchased this. I was not impressed enough to keep it and have already sold it to a friend less than a week after buying it. The curved section makes these great bongs for people that have big lungs but a limited amount of room to store glass. I’ll more than likely add another Zong to my collection now that they are with Blue Dot Glass.  –Diamond Rasta

Comments:  The RooR Two Foot Straight Tube epitomizes what most are looking for in a larger sized straight tube. It’s straightforward design and flawless construction make it a great daily driver for the smoker with tough lungs.

It does not come diffused, a serious flaw in my opinion, though one from RooR can typically be purchased for $20-30.  –trikky

Of the 2 tubes you have reviewed so far the Illadelph and the RooR, I’d say I prefer the RooR. But it would have to be diffused.  –Chubbs
