I have put together a list of incredible strains of both marijuana and hash that I will be tracking down and devouring.

Type: Hybrid

Price: $15/g

Looks: Tight buds with different shades of green along with thin red hairs.

Smell: Freshly cut assortment of fruit.

Taste: Has an orgasmic sweet taste that is unlike most other varieties. Taste is almost as good as well grown Diesel or Chemdawg.

Buzz Type: Body felt stoned and the head was in a good cerebral state.

Buzz Length: Medium to Long.

Overall: This strain has always been a special treat for me. This was the second type of weed I tried in Amsterdam on my first trip 4 or 5 years ago. It has such a distinct candy taste that lingers in the mouth. Easy to see how this won the Cannabis Cup back to back in 2001 and 2002.  -Meangreenmartian

Looks: Bright green nugs that break apart nicely. Tons of crystals all over.

Smell: Vanilla and citrus flavors.

Taste: Was hoping for a vanilla flavor that was evident in the smell but didn’t really come through on the taste. Had a nice floral taste with a hint of spiciness in the exhale.

Buzz Type: True hybrid…head was clear but the body felt nice and medicated.

Buzz Length: Medium. Smoked a fat j bird of this on the street and was high for about an hour to an hour and a half.

Overall: This was the first time I tried this strain and after doing some quick research I couldn’t really find any info on it. It was worth the money but I would probably get something different the next time.  -Meangreenmartian

Price: $13/g

Looks: What a strange looking strain Jack Herer is.  Nice sized buds with lots of glands full of sweet THC.  The hairs are blood red.

Smell: Musky and extremely lemony.

Taste: Slight tingle in the back of the throat, but otherwise very smooth.  The smoke has a lemon flavor.  It is very enjoyable without being overpowering.

Buzz Type: Deep cerebral high.  I feel like Professor Xavier from X-Men sitting in that room with the helmet on listening to my swirling thoughts and ideas.  After smoking half a small joint, my senses and energy levels increased dramatically.  Great for visionary artists.

Buzz Length: Very long.  A reasonable amount of my good friend Jack has kept me nicely baked for about two hours now.

Overall: Jack Herer is in my top 3 sativas of all time.  Ranks up there with original Maui Wowi.  The taste is not amazing, but the high makes up for anything else this bud is lacking. 

There is nothing that Jack Herer doesn’t help.  It’s great for sex, asthma, headaches, glaucoma, socializing, thinking and boredom.  Amazing strain!  –Demo11

I always like to see multiple reviews of the same strain.  It’s amazing how strains of medical marijuana vary from location to location.  Jack Herer will always remind me of our first time in Amsterdam – can’t wait to go back!  –Mrs. Chubbs

Looks: Like a small piece of dark chocolate.

Smell: Incense and strong coffee.

Taste: Smooth smoke. Nag Champa/Opium tasting.

Buzz Type: Strong narcotic buzz that leaves the body slightly functional.

Buzz Length: Medium. Appx. 2 hours or so.

Overall: Not the best hash in Amsterdam, but I would kill for a couple grams of this a week in the states. Perfect for rolling up snake joints with excess greenery.  –Meangreenmartian

Super Lemon Haze – Last years overall champion. I am expecting this years winner to be a sativa as well. Is the Amsterdam way it seems.

Super Polm – A great hash that when mixed with a really high quality sativa will have you so high and wired you won’t be able to see straight.

Looks: Emerald green nuggets that glistened with swollen trichs. So shiny it looked almost wet.

Smell: Fruit and foreign spices.

Taste: Earth, woody, Haze flavor.

Buzz Type: Upbeat, creative high that tingled the nose upon inhaling.

Buzz Length: Medium 1.5 – 2 Hours.

Overall: Legendary strain that is really unsurpassed as far as potency and overall quality. G13 and SSH are in my opinion the best hazes on the planet. I get a variety of this on every trip and have yet to be disappointed.  –Meangreenmartian

Type: Hand Rubbed Indian Hash

Price: $17/20/Gram

Looks: Like green shining tar, but once you break it up this piece of joy you see a bit of the green-black shiny inside. This is the stuff you can perfectly make a snake-in-the-grass from, very easy to bend and roll into small snakes, no fire needed.

Smell: Spicy and rich, but still gentle to the nose.

Taste: Quite spicy, but with an icy exhale.

Buzz Type: Very clear high, you are just flying straight to the sky. Very nice and gentle comedown without burnout.

Buzz Length: Medium. About 2 hours.

Overall: Up up up to the sky! I loved this piece of Indian goodness. I think this is black hash in perfection.  –Space Cowboy

As I said, there is just something about sitting in Barney’s, sipping on a cold beer while wrapping up a big fat Utopia Haze joint mixed with one of their many hash offerings.  –Chubbs

Utopia Haze – Last year Barney’s entered this marvelous sativa in the 2008 Cannabis Cup and took second place overall.

Royal Jelly – One of the two incredible hash entries from Barney’s in last year’s Cup. This stuff was so good I ended up dreaming about it.

Triple Zero – The second of Barney’s 2008 hash entries. While completely different than the Royal Jelly, I thought it was just as good. Worked for me!

Above: Amnesia Coffee Shop’s combo pack consisted of some LSD, Utopia Haze, Amnesia Lemon and some Shiraz. They also threw in some papers and tips as well as a lighter.

Above: An awesome selection from The Greenhouse that was made up of Greenhouse Ice, Super Lemon Haze and Super Polm.

I don’t recall exactly how much each combo pack costs but if I had to guess I’d say they were about $15-20 each. Man just looking at these pictures has me wanting some more Super Lemon Haze. I really miss that weed.  –Chubbs
