I just picked up some Blue Dream from LBQDC a couple days ago. The funny thing is it’s an indica that looks completely different. Who knows where these name come from. Anyway check out the Blue Dream Amanda got a while back from Grassroots.

Looks: Dense, sticky with tons of orange hairs and covered in trichomes.
Smell: Very fruity and sweet
Taste: The taste reminds me of those cheap orange lollipops and is very sweet.
Buzz Type: Introspective and clear.
Buzz Length: Long. 2-4 Hours.
Overall: It did not take long for me to feel the effects of Blue Dream immediately after the first hit. The fist thing I felt was slightly overwhelmed as my head started to feel like it was floating away. I could not help but feel kind of uncomfortable, but I quickly felt my body relaxing as I took another hit.
When I finished the bowl I lost the confusion that existed just minutes before and it was replace with a very warm, relaxing and clear headed high.
As the high went on, just how introspective Blue Dream made me became apparent. I had tried to relax and fall asleep but my mind would not let me. I felt philosophical about everything and very social as I regretted not having anyone there to talk to. It was easy for me to see that this strain would have been perfect if I had been doing something outside, with other people, or anything at all – other than trying to sleep.
When the high started to wear off it was easy for me to relax enough to go to sleep. However, when I smoked Blue Dream I had a migraine. Most marijuana cures my migraines instead of masking the pain, and I don’t know if I had a killer migraine or if Blue Dream just was not enough, but in the middle of the night I woke up with the migraine still pounding in my skull. It did numb the pain of the headache, enough that I could happily function for a while, the but migraine never went away. –Amanda
Sorry to hear it did not help actually cure you of your migraine. I too get migraines and know that there is nothing worse than having one, finally being able to fall asleep and then waking up later and still having it. UGH!!! –Chubbs

Blue dream is one of my fave strans. I mave medical mj for depression and this is definitely one that helps out with that. Prob one f my top 3 sativas up there with Neville haze and Hawaiian snow.
I could have told you you were going to get a headache just by looking at the bud. See how dark the green is on the little leaves. Nitrogen level was too high at harvest. The chlorophyl level was so high it couldn’t dissipate before the bud dried. Slightly dampening, ever so lightly, with a clean spray bottle and then allowing to dry with a fan continuously blowing on it will get rid of the chlorophyl and your headache. I frequently have to finish curing bud from the medical distributers. Make sure to test spray the water in your mouth, many spray bottles impart a nasty taste to the water. In that case just put the sprayer part directly into a bottle of drinking water. Every time you dampen, the chlorophyl(green)smell becomes more pronounced until it dries. When you dampen, and smell no more chlorophyl(green), it is completely dissipated and can be allowed to dry. Now enjoy with no headache.

Let me just say that I love the pics on this site. They look just like all the herb I buy and I buy a variety. Great job. This has been the most comprehensive and user friendly site I’ve found so far.
My home store is Apothecary 420 and they were out of Third Eye which is a must for when I want to focus, think deeply, and problem solve. I was told that there is nothing like Third Eye and Blue Dream was given as a close match.
After reading the above reviews, I’m can’t wait to try it within the next few minutes. I only wish that I had someone to sit around and talk with as I experience Blue Dream.
The Blue dream at CCA in Torrance is one of the better sativas that I have smoked. CCA trully is my favorite dispensory at the time anyhow, but when I get a chance to go to the green angel Im there although I have not been in a while becaus I live in walking distance to CCA.
I am about to harvest for my dispensary and the Blue Dream is awesome!!!! It puts off huge colas with the sweet scent of blueberry.

Yes Amanda either you picked up a crossed strain with Blue Dream, or you got something completely different. OR whoever gave it to you said it was Indica. But alas Blue Dream is Sativa Dominant.

Long time smoker from AZ, my dude told me he had some Blue Dream.. I dont get too excited over Sativa strains none the less I took the zone went home and rolled a blunt. Before this blunt I smoked a couple bowls of my last remaining bud of Bubba Kush, so after the first few hits I was kind of disappointed because the high wasnt as lethargic as the Indicas I enjoy.. However about half way through the blunt I was stoned but with a clear mind. I felt a sense of well being and even after the blunt I was able to play Madden 2010 online and win a game. If you like to get super duper stoned this bud isnt for you. I would reccomend sparking this bud up at a partty and passing it around because others will enjoy the energy it brings and you can still hold a pretty good conversation and stay clear headed while stone…..Don’t drink and drive stay high and fly ..

Hey guys i had blue dream and later i felt like i was in a dream , my arms would move by itself and i could not control it, the next week o tried it again amd the same thing happend! Anyone know whats wrong with me!
Ya, I have tried the Blue Dream, nice high at first, but after awhile I felt “heavy”, just felt like gravity pulling me down, dont know if anyone else has had this?

DB is one of my favorites. Seen three growers up in North Bay NorCal that really know how. As for effects, it can vary, but I kinda like the Haze feel to it. Figure on the value of only having to smoke once in an evening! I usually feel this strain to be a bit more body than most sativa and prefer in afternoon or evenings. Not my 1st choice before a 5 mile run.
As for the Migraines, look at that bud! Yikes so green. Mist and re-dry. Some dispensaries don’t know what they are buying; now that you know it should not happen to you again. Funny thing is I got some BD once from OC in Santa Rosa and that was the case. Basically is prison they take your money and wont let you even see what you are buying!
If you grow it, give lots of room! These babies can get huge but want to spread roots. Also if indoors give plenty of air.

we dont usually get dank like anything on this site in iowa unless ya goto chicago but its xmas so i had sum blue dreams ta get rid of a headache at one point during the bag… ended up taking maxalt instead after 2 2footers an 20 mins
I am growing some “Blue Dream” excelent growing plant fast veg good spread and looks to be a fast flower im in a week and a half into my flower cycle and i think it will be a 55-65 day flower. what i am wondering is were this strain came from the exact genetic blend and the stats?!?!?!

Blue Dream has a very nice, Jack H. taste to it. This might just be a good batch, but I give Blue Dream high marks.
This is my FAVORITE strain for any time, day or night, when stress, anxiety, or depression are a problem.
blue dream is nirvana in your mouth. the smoke’s not hot and you can taste orange gatorade on the exhale. my nug was covered in crystals. i have a high tolerance, and it only took four big drags to get me going. i was lifted for about an hour.
I was just lucky enough to come across some Blue Dream a few days ago. Very impressed!

This is an indica not a sativa I have to say that for 15 a gram this is very good medium grade product. I have to say its one of the best mid shelf items out there. Very good medicine definately a must try.

This is a fantastic strain.
Seems like BD is everywhere these days, at least in Bay Area dispensaries. But what the hell… GREAT high, nice yield… it’s practically perfect.
One of my favorite daytime smokes. I’m an Iraq veteran with PTSD and BD is pure daytime medicine for me. Depression: gone, but I’m still functional (some sativas make me jittery). Thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster I live in California, where I can get Blue Dream safely and legally!
One of my frat bros picked up a couple pounds and we sat down and smoked 9 blunts of Blue Dream between 9 people then smoked a father blunt! When you smell this strain in high quantity it has a stale coffee smell. Not very potent from what we found out, nevertheless, it got the job done. You can handle taking large quantities of this and not feel the repercussions after.
for me, this strain caused a clear introspective mental high. I was able to mountain bike effectively, so this is defiantly a good choice go out and be active with. After about two hours I had severe hunger pangs, but after that, as I am writing this review, I am left with a clear and relaxed head.
I would recommend this bud if you need a “mental vacation” Defiantly great for killing anxiety, as the clear introspective high allows you to get to the root of what is upsetting you. Great for figuring out lifes many mysteries.

I agree with rocketman, the blue dream I had gave me a good clear mental high as well as some energy with hardly any crash. Although I didn’t get any munchies like rocketman had. I think blue dream is one of my favorite strains since I can easily use it on a day to day basis and still get stuff done.

Excellent buzz description. I have some Blue Dream and I love it. I smoked a bowl earlier and went right outside to mow the lawn. With the old school push mower. It was hard work but I could’nt have done it without my MOTAvation!
Im smokin somestuff that is very similar looking to this, but an outdoor batch, very very different feeling high then what Im used to, I would have smoked this b4 class, the stuff I have smells exactly like a mango very dark purple, orange hairs, theyre super dense hard nugs, not alot of crystals but is sticky, didnt like at 1st but I really like it now, is a cheap type weed out here like 160 to 180 an o, or probably 550, 600 tops for a Q, all huge buds no leaf at all, and I hear the prices you pay out there and it pisses me off, no one can afford to spend that kind of money on a tiny little bit of something that grows from the ground, oh well, Id stop smokin if thats what the price was, we need to get off out asses and get this blessed plant legalised everwhere, peace
Mine must be a hybrid cause it looks a bit different and smells different. The high is about the same with a little more tiredness to it. But I got 1.5~2 ounces for 280.00 so I can’t complain. (=0-0=)

you know when u have little thoughts that cross in the back of ur mind maybe some are worrying thoughts about about bills or problems in life when i smoke this it took those thoughts away. i have colonitis and it makes me not live a normal life when i smoked this it helped clear my thoughts. i could be normal i would consider this a medical
Just came across this site while finally ‘researching’ what has been almost constantly at the top of my fave strains list, Blue Dream. I’ve picked up a couple of 1/8ths locally (Sacramento, CA area), unfortunately I don’t recall the name of the smaller club that carried the best nugz.
Anyhoo, just picked up my first BD clone 4 days ago (7/24/10) and already I can tell it is a very healthy, stable and easy-to-grow strain compared to just about every other I’ve tried so far. The baby is only about 4-5″ tall, rooting incredibly well with 2 ‘main’ leaf sets and obviously a bunch of smaller ones on the way, beautiful medium-dark green with dark reddish-purple stalks and so far the leaves seem to have a natural curl to them; Something I haven’t come across yet.
Definitely a 5/5 for both smoking and growing, HIGHLY recommended. BTW, this particular strain/clone was purchased from River City Wellness in Sac, great place to check out if you’re in the area. Be well all…

Just a quick update, the BD baby is doing BEAUTIFULLY, she’s only about *maybe* 6″ at this point, not much taller than when I planted, but my gawd I’ve never seen a plant bush out so fast… it’s a miniature shrub now, can’t even count the leaf sets and *extremely* compact branching as of yet.
I know this strain is typically sativa-dom but I’m starting to wonder if this isn’t another ‘dual-phenotype’ deal; The stature and broader leaves on this plant seem to lean toward indica. Either way, no complaints and still highly recommended. God bless all, your crops and the medicine they’ll soon produce… Peace!
I’m very new to the MMJ world. I have severe nerve damage from a sports injury in 1983 and was on Vicodin until two months ago. As you can imagine, it was killing me. Anyway, I was doing what I’m sure everyone does at first, which is trying grams of a lot of strains, looking for my “alert” and my “knockout” strains. I still haven’t found the knockout, but I can work on Blue Dream, have 2 or more points knocked off the pain scale, and have a life for a change. I’m confused about one thing, though. Two different dispensaries recommended Blue Dream when told that I also suffer depression and anxiety disorder and therefore need something indica-heavy. According to this review and all these comments, it’s sativa, which is supposed to be dangerous for me. Emotionally, I mean. Is there some similar strain that is 60/40 indica? They both told me that number, so I’m confused.

DEEJ: i volunteer at a dispensery and am very familiar with the effects to both types of strains. I will start off by saying everyone can have a different response to each individual strain, so I would suggest to try as it becomes a process of elimination for most patients.
Some Sativas do tend to produce more of an anxiety effect, which would not be good for your depression, so when it comes to a more ‘alert’ sativa you might want to stay away from any Trainwreck or Super Jack type of sativas.. The Blue Dream is more of a “happy” and mellow Sativa, in my personal opinion. You might want to also try an Indica dominant hybrid, such as God’s Gift or something similar to it. It is not super heavy like an OG Kush, but will be a relaxing body high, very good for pain, and shouldn’t put you right to sleep.
Yay! So the BD baby isn’t really a baby anymore, she’s now about 1.5′ in height (after being ‘trained’ (tied down) for about a week, and now she’s a mother. This morning I cut about 9 babies, all look healthy so far but obviously I’m not counting my chickens yet. Also the mom is about 4 days into flowering, being kept outdoors (in pots with perlite) during the daylight and tented at night. I’ll drop another update in a couple weeks, take care all…
