A bonus review to tide you over till Wednesday – today’s my birthday!
This is the first review from longtime member IE420Patient. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the THC Expo earlier this year. I have to say, it makes me all warm and fuzzy when I meet members and know that this little site has grown by leaps and bounds with such great reviews and membership….oh wait, I think the fuzzy part came from my medicine….

Price: $35/gram, $110/8th – YES, IT’S EXPENSIVE!
Looks: Very tight and dense buds. So dense, you think you were shorted. Light/medium green bud with “orange” hairs fully covered in trichs.
Smell: Very strong and stinky (but a good stink). Two air tight containers can’t keep the smell away! An earthy “green” smell…very minty with a hint of menthol.
Taste: Very smooth and on the floral side. A little bit of piney after taste.
Buzz Type: “Out of this World” as Apothecary 420 claims. Felt the buzz begin before the exhale. Started off with the head feeling a bit heavy and a squint in the eyes and then about 10-15 minutes later my whole body was in check. The strength of the high evenly progressed from first hit to 15 minutes in.
Although classified as indica, for me this bud also had some sativa qualities – had a really good head and body tingle going on. In short, this buzz is hella cool. A great way to end the day.
Buzz Length: A good 1.5 to 2 hours. These buds were so tight and potent that I barely broke off a piece for my bong (maybe the size of a small marble). I was able to get THREE good solid bong rips off this small amount.
Overall: If you want to splurge or cost is not an issue this is some damn good indica. What I do like with this is that you don’t have to smoke much. With other strains, I would most likely smoke 2 to 3 times as much.
This is up there as one of the best indica buzzes I’ve had. One small bowl and I am good! You feel good, ultra chill and mellow but I did not get couch locked. It’s almost as if this bud takes you just shy to the point of being couch locked and keeps you there for a while – for me that means one damn good “high”.
Side Note: We all know Apothecary 420 is expensive but, damn…this is some seriously good medical marijuana. Asteroid is the most expensive on the menu and is to be exclusive to Apothecary 420 per their blog. The posted in-dispensary prices are credit card prices. If you pay cash, they will usually lower the price $5-10 (I always pay cash). Also, save your receipts and take advantage of their Rewards Program. i just picked up an 1/8 of green crack for 60 and its A+ weed for sure. 110 an 1/8 is insane i wouldnt pay that for any strain. cool to hear u got a discount from your previous pickups.

also, again off topic. two things i always noticed about the site. when you click in the search bar, the text already there doesnt highlight you have to backspace the whole thing. kind of a pain in the ass for a pothead… lol
also, it sure is no google when it comes to searches and it never finds the exact strain when i type it in. finds closest matches… like i search hindu kush, it will show me anything else that is kush or hindu, but not exactly hindu kush which i have to find along the left bar
on topic again, too bad they didnt have a better camera, cause this looks nothing like it should:) you can see some massive trichs on there… looks pretty delicious

Apothecary definitely has some great buds, perhaps even the best in LA, but they are also the most expensive.
I like to factor price into the review, so even it’s super dank if it’s expensive it goes from A+ to A.
I know it is meant to be exclusive to that dispensary but something tells me it will get out. When it does I hope it finds it’s way to a dispensary in the Bay Area or Santa Cruz because it looks tasty. Hopefully at a lesser price. I won’t say I WOULDN’T pay that price. I actually drew lines in the proverbial sand in regards to quiting smoking cigarettes when they hit a certain price. Every time they hit that price, I just raised my acceptable amount. ” All right I’ll pay $5.00
a pack but if it goes to $5.50 I’m quitting for sure ” and so on, and so on! So I try and never say never. :} By the way I did finally kick the tobacco habit it’s been about 6 monthes feels good!!!!!!!!!:} Very enjoyable review!!! Happy B-Day Chubbs! im from canada, but im not ignorant like the other guy. if he gets a price like that for high quality buds then it is a hook up and nothing more. not a reflection of standard price which is what the purpose of this site is for. to help people develop a standard and somehow bragging doesn’t seem to fall in to that.
we do benefit from cheaper pricing here in canada, as there is no industry at the moment, but I’m quite certain if dispensaries were to appear here then pricing would be similar.
and yeah, “all yall” is certainly not a canadian phrase, sounds southern to me. hes prob getting the mexican bricks. plus, the perspective of the best herb to someone is only comparable to the best they have ever tried or had the pleasure to experience. I’m certain it does the trick for him, but for that price, i wouldn’t even bake with that. maybe give it to the cat or something

thanks for posting my first review. i was iffy doing it but, i really wanted to share this one and contribute. the THC Expo was insane. everybody here needs to attend next year and brings lots of money. so much i wanted and the vendors were giving very fair/cheap prices; especially on glassware. i still need to break out my new PHX bong i got from there.

$35/gram IS insane! i agree. also, high prices for a rare strain does not equate to A+ medicine but, this one does live up to its name for me. the prices for meds here in so-cal somewhat follow the format of craft beer. for example, stone is a great brew and a bomber is $5-6 and always does the job. then around the corner lost abbey and they will have a bomber of something for $15-30 and everyone is rushing to get it. sometimes that “premium” is worth it, sometimes it’s not. i believe A420 ran out of this in less than three weeks (it’s not on their menu anymore but, they did bring back Hawaiian Orchid which is now one of their top one’s along with G1 Reserve (which i don’t think is all that good for the price)!

A420’s prices are not all expensive. the have grams (Cat Piss, Grand Daddy Purple) for $15. most of their very, very, very good meds are in the $20-25 gram/$60-75 8th range which is typical of most dispensaries. since i only get my meds once a month or so, i always try to get some solid mid-range meds like ATF, White Widow, Super Sour Diesel, and Swiss Cheese as well a gram of the rare offering on the menu and now some hash ($20-25 half/gram). i wanted to try green crack myself but, as soon as i was able to contact the nuggetry it was off the menu.

my photos do not serve this med well. actually, they probably do more damage than good. that was why i was part iffy doing this thinking due to my photos it would not get posted. i am using a canon powershot sd1100is. i tried all kinds of settings. i just took some pics of some Sweet Skunk and GDP Hash and learned i can adjust the lighting after i import to my computer. so, hopefully in the future my photos will get better as now i am trying to review these two hashes – much harder to put my thoughts on paper with hash vs. plants.
hey, you live in western canada? i used to visit vancouver twice a year from the late 90’s to early 00’s. always got my “buds” at this park near Blunt Brother’s. that spot was off the chain! good times, good memories!

i do hope more is produced and widely available. but, one thing i noticed … many of this off-named meds (meaning, when i do a ‘net search i find nothing out there on them) are here today and gone tomorrow. mentally, i fight these high prices all the time but, i always find myself splurging once in awhile anyway.

Read through your camera’s manual and find out how to activate the “Macro” setting. Almost all digital cameras made in the last 5 years has one. The macro feature will allow you to take close range shots that are much more focused.

yeah, i sent some purple pics in i did with my buddys canon with macro… some of the older cameras have crap macro settings and it doesn’t actually let you put the lens too close to the object. with my friends digital elph 7mp i could almost touch the lens to the bud and it still focused. amazing. hope to see those new ones soon!!!
