Looks: Lime green with some darkness mixed in and very dark orange hairs. Almost a golden amber color.
Smell: Very pungent and very cheesy skunk smell. Hard to hide or mask.
Taste: Is awesome. I love this stuff. A deep piney taste with a hint of floral aftertaste. Also nails your lungs with some serious expansion. Can’t help but cough up a lung.
Buzz Type: Big sativa high. Knocks you down if you are not careful. For being a sativa AK-47 has a hell of a punch to it. Not much of a body buzz to speak of but it bakes your head so well that you think your body is baked and you just want to relax and have fun.
Buzz Length: Surprisingly long. About 2-3 hours or more on about a quarter of a bowl or about 4-5 nice puffs.
Overall: Still on the hunt for a danky indica but these sativas are sure keeping me satisfied. AK-47 is definitely one I would enjoy smoking again and again for the intense buzz and awesome taste. Maybe I will get some clones for this and see what we can do with it. –Skunk Meister

so what’s the verdict, sativa or indica? i can’t seem to get consistent reports, ak47 won best sativa in 99′ cannabis cup, then in 03′ won 2nd place in the indica category.. i’m guessing it’s a hybrid or there might be a few phenotypes around leaning towards opposite sides.
anyone have any knowledge on the strain and origin?
ive only had sativa versions of ak. never heard of indica ak.
i would smoke that bud any day of the week even with the leafs.

@valluco: From what I understand, leaf contains most of the plants canabanoids (not sure if I spelled that correctly) which lead to a much heavier stone.
AK-47 is ‘mostly sativa’ which means hybrid in my book. Contains Columbian, Mexican, Thai & Afghani.
didnt know that.
It’s a indica-like buzz though, I think which is why it was in both indica and sativa categories (in different years) in the Cannabis Cup.

Ak has become a hybrid, didn’t start that way at least what I have read(currently reading Big Book of Buds 1, this is the first strain in it). So you can come across different pheno’s. Leaves should make no difference on the cough or not. I’ve had leafy stuff and didn’t hack at all. This is an exspansion type cough, not from the buds being ruff. Hopefully my other reviews will be up soon, with better strains like Super Silver Haze, Sage and Verry Berry. Thanks Chubbs.
i just picked up 5 grams of silver haze a couple hours ago. so far it has been very good. i smoked 3 bong hits when i got it and the buzz is still going strong.

The silver haze the buds look amazing they are covered in a silver layer of trichs. the taste is earthy and has that haze taste that i cant really discribe. tastes like u are smoking some serious chronic. it has a sweet smell to the buds very nice herb.
Tasty, it has a heavy sweetness. At least the kind I have getting for sometime now. We just purchased seeds the other day and SSH is in there so we are going to see what we can do with it.

I would like to know if there are any dispenceries that have ak I havnt been able to locate any. Blue dream is my favorite sativa, and they always have it at the club.
Colorado has plenty that offer it. Can’t help you if your in Cali. sorry. Blue Dream has been overrated, no offense.
I usualy smoke indicas 213og and bubba master are among two of my favorites,but the blue dream Ive been getting just tastes so good. The effects however arent the strongest. I just got some spicy jack thats fantastic.

@ medical cannabis of the rockies how much do yall usally harvest per plant?generaly speaking. knw its all differnt.just tring to see how much i need to improve.always get atleast 2 1/2 oz per plant
Right it does differ. I do recommend studying your strains to know what has worked for other growers. So with that said we average 4-5 1/2 OZ’s dry, ready to use, per plant with a 6 plant minimum. That is going to change here in the near future. We are upgrading. If it helps at all AIR FLOW,AIR FLOW GOOD VENTILATION, this something most farmers neglect. Plants like music to don’t forget.
what strains work best for u?
right now working towards some serious stability so I want to try and create the ultimate Indica with breeding. We are working with a good strain of Diesel and and our own concoction called just..MARY JANE she is purple strain we got a few years ago that we have been messing with for some time, trying to get her just right,she is hybrid Indica dominate . We also are working with Grapefruit & and a White Widow Cross seem to do quit well Not to mention Durban Poison & Blueberry. My goal down the road is to find some good MANGO,NL,Pot O Gold and maybe some Original Skunk #1 and get to some serious flippin breeding. Right now the problem is getting quality strains at a good price, if they are what people say they are. Not always what it should be.
Right on bro Im in the process out here in CA. to start growing. I have the perfect indoor area now I just need to get off my ass and do it. I have finally convinced my wife who was crippled last year by a drunk driver who hit her head on. She is on so many pain meds and things arent exactly how they were so its time to save some cash. Im also curious to know if anyone on here has come off of serious narcotic painmeds and successfully switched to herb. My wife as I said broke both legs both arms and pretty much every other bone. She is making a steady recovery and Im very proud of her. However the pain meds are realy strong I just dont want her to be dependant having had my own demons in the past Im all to familiar with opioids and Im just concerned.
Chronic pain since I was 14. Hit by 4 cars 1 being a hit and run were I was pushed underneath the front bumper, bike included. And hit by a nurse in front of a hospital on the way home from a girlfriends house. So some pain meds include Cyclobenzaprine, Flexaril,Hydrocodone and varying steroids. I dropped all that shit and only consume herbs and do stretching, looking at investing in a hot tub at some point, damn that will be nice. I save a ton by growing, keep in mind just getting started will be very expensive at first. But you will even out as long as you pay attention to what your doing and produce quality herbs. Oh for more of my dumbass stories of getting hurt and near death misses, just ask I have a few more. Take it easy bud.
Thank you SKUNKMIESTER. My wife was in the hospital for three months where they pumped her full of crap. She built up a tollerance and now is taking 80mg oxycontin and 10mg percocet inbetween, they also put her on kalonapin. I dont like any of these drugs, but they play an important role in her physical theropy, so its not like she spends the day noddin out or anything she works her ass off. I just hope that she takes an open mind to it when it comes time. We have been togeather seven years and shes only smoked twice. I smoke everyday all day and she doesnt mind. Ger reasoning for not smoking was a good one as we use to live in georgia where its still a nono. Now my other point I spend almost 800 a month on herb. No problem bud. Start up will be as follows, within reason. Lights(most info on plants yield go of a 600 watt per sq.meter, for flowering, you can use normal florescent for veg) Soil(research what will work best in your climate,most is just trial and error,lots of people have an opinion on this subject, be careful)Pots(#1’s work well for veg,1/2 inchers for seedlings if your doing that method, you will want to transplant to a larger size before flowering,this will depend on your needs) Good source of clean water(purified is recommended for more O2 to the roots, but not necessary)Most important is a location with good airflow and able to have its climate manipulated i.e. and apartment or a separate location in your backyard like a big storage shed can be renovated in manner of speaking. There are also little things you will need for harvest so to try to put a number on it is kind of hard but these are basics within reason. This is a relativly cheap way of doing things. What kind of location are you working with and what do you already have for gear, that will help me out for suggestions?

SKUNKMIESTER: I am growing a few outside organically can you recomend anything?
What strain/s? Take a soil sample first and run a test to see whats what…is the pH to high, stuff like that. Then go from there, some plants what a lower pH as they start then they need a higher level, for example GreenHouse’s Hawaiian Snow it likes a pH of 5.4 then as it grows and gets into flowering it likes a pH of 5.9 to 6.0. So good nutes will help this and researching the strain/s you are working with. If your working with bag seeds that you have “Just Acquired” well thats pretty mush a shot in the dark if you don’t know the strain. With that just watch’em and check’em, especially for Hermaphrodation, meaning it will automatically change to a male and pollinate the rest. SEED FEST.

My PH tester I bought is broken I put it in a sample of soil no reading at all. I stuck it in a lime and it read like 2. I gues I have to wait til monday when the shop opens up to check it. I think I might have killed one gathering the sample so Im pretty pissed it didnt work.
Try Home Depot or your local nursery they should have ones that you just put in the ground, thats what we have, also one for EC Levels. Blueberry does prefer indoors, but it can be done. If you are really concerned you can just go out and ROOT ORGANICS 707 mix, with that stuff you can just dig out what dirt your replacing with R.O. and then till that bitch under, then plant. R.O. gives your plants effective nutes consistently. Our current crop has buds bigger than your thumbs at 3 weeks in flower, that stuff just aint supposed to happen yet. I will try to post some pics this next week on Myspace.
Thanks again. The reason its blueberry is I had a seedy batch of it got five seeds and all cracked. I accidently killed two of them but they are going strong. Im using FoxFarm soil and some really good organic nutes. I know several people around here that could help me, but I know better. Even though Im a patient and its perfectly legal my number one rule is no one but my wife and I know about them. I even get my clones and growing equip way in another county. Im so glad that there are people like you I can anonomously ask. Better safe than sorry right.
My indoor growroom should be up and running mid week. I have a nice HPS light an exaust fan for air flow and some flow fans as well. I also bought three hydro buckets. I got a killer deal onthem that I couldnt pass up.

Skunkmeister …. you are in Loveland? Do you supply the shops in No. Boulder? Recently bought a gram of this to try and it looks just like your fotos. I am releying on your evaluation of its’ power, tendencies, and duration since I am just starting out as a patient who is trying various strains for pain relief and others for energy. I tried Bubble Gum for energy and it was wa-a-a-y potent for a guy who last tasted in 1973. Are you familiar with that strain and can you compare to AK-47 so I have a reference point from which to experiment? I am looking for a real gentle strain that’s like 4x espressos and a cigarette without the raging head buzz that makes my hair stand up or an acute case of paranoia. On the other end of the spectrum, I am also looking for something mild that has no head involved but does have a soothing body relaxing effect and some mild pain relief so I can sleep well., one to two hours, clear.
AK-47 is a beloved strain and iv had it before but it doesnt look like the AK iv had but it still looks amazing
It looks like you got some nugs off the plant judging by the leave to bud ratio. But back on the review. AK-47 is a good stable strain for anyone seeking a sativa high. Most of the AK-47 that i’ve smoked has been alike every time. You know what to expect after you’ve smoked AK-47 once.
